PSA: YOU'RE NOT BEING IGNORED.

A major part of the tumblr rp experience is refreshing the dash and see your mutual roleplaying with someone else. Or maybe they're answering asks, reblogging musing posts, making an OOC post here and there. However, there will be times where you are waiting on a plot, an ask, or a roleplay to be responded to and you see your partner interacting or engaging more with other people.

Again, the mind is a cruel thing. Inadequacy, jealousy, general anxieties stem up sometimes, it's part of being human. But what's important is how you act on these emotions. Please remind yourself that sometimes, things take time. Not all plots go somewhere. Sometimes, someone may not be feeling their muse for that rp. Maybe they just got really busy. Thousands of reasons, but none of them have anything to do with how much they like you as a person.

And that's okay. This isn't homework-- People should be allowed to pin down what they want to write and write it as they please. If you really want specific interactions, you can always send ic / anonymous asks to muses. You can make your own starter calls. Please don't put all of your eggs into one basket, as you will come to resent the people who don't immediately refill it. Don't be a goob, you have people who enjoy you AND your writing.

mei wasn't sure what dug under her skin more—that he wanted to hurt her or that she couldn't see why he had tried to. her fingers found each other, playing with and distracting her slightly from their conversation. "so, instead of having an actual conversation with me about how you're feeling, you'd rather hurt me before you get hurt." she spoke, trying to piece together what he was telling her. it didn't make sense to her. painting, art forms, sculpting... that made sense to her, the way that the paint glides on the canvas. part of her wished she was back in her room, putting however she was feeling currently on canvas. mei sighed lightly before turning her body slightly towards him. "i don't... i don't want you to feel like you have to hide your mess from me or use it to try and hurt me. i'm not... i'm not going anywhere."

August shifted slightly in the seat, the dim light from the screen flickering across his face. Suddenly his jaw tensed at her question, not because he hadn’t expected it, but because it was the one he didn’t quite have an answer for yet. He let out a breath, slow and uneven, his fingers running along the seam of the wheel. “I don’t know.” He said finally. “I think I wanted to hurt you for a second. Not like—” He paused, shook his head, then looked at her for the first time in minutes. “Not like that. I just…I got scared. You have this way of making everything feel real. And when things feel real, they can fall apart.” He watched her. The silence from the screen filled in the cracks between them. Then he added, a little softer, a little more honest: “I said it because I wanted you to see how messy I get. I wanted to ruin it before it got ruined for me.”

hands fidgeted the hem of her shirt for most of the movie, her mind a constant unravel of every word that was said to her that morning. sure, there had been moments where they argued, slammed doors, left without saying a word. but this morning felt different, like something had changed in their atmosphere. outside of them being roommates, mei was extremely shy and reserved. she had never thought to react the way she did around him with others. her eyes remained fixed on the film as he spoke, unsure of what to say. it took her a few moments before she responded. "so... why did you say it?"

The movie flickered across the giant outdoor screen, casting shadows on the windshield of August’s old pickup. Popcorn sat untouched between them, slowly going stale. August hadn't looked at her once since they parked. He kept his eyes fixed on the film, though he couldn’t follow a single scene. His thoughts were stuck on what he’d said that morning. The sharp words that he thrown in the heat of frustration, ones he regretted the second the door slammed behind him. Now, beside him in the passenger seat, there was silence. "I shouldn’t have said that." He muttered finally, the screen’s glow dancing across his hands as they clenched the steering wheel. "I didn’t mean it. Any of it."

did tawni have any right to be as angry as she was? no. at most times, she would deny being involved with sonny—how could a hollywood bombshell be friends with a girl from wisconsin? however, she couldn't help the anger that fermented in her chest. instead she huffed and turned her head away from sonny, her blonde curls bouncing along with her. finding her beloved stuffed animal, her hands fidgeted with it's fake fur as she thought of how to respond to her. "an invite would've been nice," she muttered, even if she would've made up some lame excuse about a famous hollywood party she was going to instead.

sonny  blinked  a  few  times  as  she  looked  at  tawni.  trying  to  figure  out  what  the  blonde  meant.  “what  are  you  talking  about?  i  just  went  out  to  a  animal sanctuary  with  a  friend?”

"did you FORGET that i'm your sister's best friend? i know your house like i know my own hand," snow spoke with her eyebrows furrowed as she looked over her shoulder at him before he scurried past her. confusion always swept her features when she was around caspian. confusion on how she found all of this incredibly endearing and annoying at the same time was most of her feelings. she didn't have MUCH time to respond as a light shriek emitted from her lips as she was hoisted over his shoulder. truthfully, she didn't think he would act out what she had dared him to do—all talk and no action. "what in the... put me down!"

"WHERE are you going? this is my house, you can't just freely wander in it." brows gently pull into a crease of confusion before throwing himself off the couch and following after her like a lost puppy, forgetting the fact she's here not because of him. "besides– didn't you say you wanted me to prove it to you?" he hurries behind her, trailing faster, "that you'd LOVE to see me try," laughter already starts to spill out of him as his lengthy arms reach out, knowing where this is headed, pulling her around and then hoisting her feather weight right over his shoulder to prove a point.
