Cabo San Lucas... Culmination of everything that is North American tourism. I want to say that i was traveling but in all honesty this was pure vacation. I would have never thought to come here if it wasn't for O inviting me for a week of tanning and catching up. Nevertheless, despite all the "resting" that we did amidst infinity pools, margueritas on the beach and tequila shots on party cruises it was still so interesting to see what that city is like from a cultural stand point.
I also want to say that I never really go on these types of vacation but that's not true. Maybe not to this extend at least. I'm originally from a beach touristy town in the first place so it's sort of ingrained in my system that I spend days in the sun doing nothing but tan. Add to the fact that I return to said town for at least a week every year since I moved... that type of vacation is pretty central to my being. Of course, I prefer actual traveling and I tend to only do these types of vacations to see family and old friends in Nice or simply because of other people, not from my own wanting. An all-inclusive tunisian resort two years ago was supposed to be a family outing but Sarah couldn't make it. It also tends to be the cheapest option considering how popular those destinations are (in fact Los Cabos is supposed to be North America's #1 destination)
You can always discover things by vacationing like that anyways. Before coming to Cabo, I didn't realize how big the timeshare industry was and the sheer opulence of this type of tourism. So many people at Cabos were regulars coming every year, buying timeshares, doing the all-inclusive deals. It was definitely a crowd of very specific types of people doing much the same thing every time they came. And I could understand why. Everything was so pleasant. Weather fits all types of preferences, luxury is so relatively cheap and I suppose as well many activities are at arm's reach. Weird that nothing really bordered the area. Nothing cultural at all unlike from what I hear the east coast's version of Cabos, Cancun that has Mayan ruins within a couple of miles and all that good stuff.
All in all. I had a superb week, relaxing and getting my dose of fun with friends and family....nothing else to ask for really
