You breathe poison. It’s like a toxic sludge in the back of your lungs. Reyes isn’t all that surprised that the kid gets defensive. He it’s amusing to him to say the least. He allows his fingers to hook around that of a tree to pull himself upwards with simple ease. “Do I know nothing?” He preens at the kid. “I must know something if you are so peeved.” Reyes comments allows himself to sit overhead over standing before him. He looks over the kid, bow on his back, sword on him. Gun on his hip, and he laughs. He laughs outright cold and cruel again. “You are carrying around Mcree’s gun, and you remind me of...” He doesn’t finish that thought to the kid. Genji Shimada. What an irony.   “Tell me do you still wake up fearing the sight of blood?” Even if he is less of a man, he remembers much better than most. It’s that bitterness in his bones.

Shadows creep deeper than blood. Blink and you might miss them. This kid: the Shimada’s son makes things all too easy really. He’s nothing like his namesake however. Genji had been much more warped: Hanzo’s brother had been a better match for the hands of Overwatch when they had gotten ahold of him. It’s not like he really cares about that anymore. Those ashes are long gone. The dragon despite it’s nature does not scare him, not when he’s kissed death more than once in his life. Reyes, what’s left of him, is less than human. A walking corpse, a man without a soul. No morality, no hope left for him. Dehumanized, whatever had been left of him, Jesse had buried and he laughs. It’s cold and cruel and harsh sounding, it’s laughter at the wrong time, wrong place. It’s pure irony that this kid thinks he can defend, Jesse from him.     “You are out of your depth kid.” Reyes is still laughing, his scarred face twisted in a cynical type of laughter. “You aren’t the center of attention kid, even if it is amusing.” He allows the boy to get into a panic, it’s easy to slip right through his fingers, slip like smoke. Reyes is laughing at his panic, at his nerves, at all of it.                “But out of all of them kid, who really knows what I’m capable of? Your father may have those spirits but he ain’t level with my shit. I could strangle him with my bare hands.” Reyes takes two step forward to Genji, a twisted smile on his features if the boy could see beneath the mask.                   He’s level with the boy and there’s a deadly whisper of “You can’t save everyone.” Here stands a rotten corpse of a man, fingers reaching out to strangle a boy that hasn’t learned his place at all in the world. @dianran + @huckleberrytm
