As a part of the Literature Circle, the text was overwhelming;

Due to the fact that at the beginning of the text, the flow was all over the place and there were a lot of characters doing things simultaneously. At that point, I literally have no idea who were the main characters but fortunately, the text focused on Alfredo and the events involving the two female leads.

 As a reader, ‘Dead Stars’ scared me. It made me question Love. 

Is it really love, or was it only for the sake of convenience? but one thing is for sure, no one deserves to be in Julia or Esperanza’s position.

But like Oriang, I'll continue to move forward with our moments in heart and if ever i miss you extra that day, I'll merely glance up and immerse myself in the clear blue sky.

If I'm being honest, there's probably nothing the Filipinos don't know. There are only those who choose to disregard the truth in favor of what they think to be the truth, no matter how obstinate they are. They will not be able to rewrite our history, and I am certain that the youth of this generation are fully aware of what we "should know" and are now on the move to educate the stubborn and fight for what we deserve as Filipinos.

The answer is simple; because it’s our culture. The pre-colonial literature is passed down from generation to generations and now lives within us in the present time. It showcase our ancestor’s beliefs, traditions and values that also has a significant influence to our generation.

To be and feel the emotions written in a literary text is one thing but to see it through different lenses, allows us to dig deeper and find a different perspective or understanding. That’s the beauty of art; to explore and analyse the art that we are exposed to and look for the message. There is no such thing as a right or wrong answer.

Breathe in a universe where none of our kind ever physically set a foot on. Coexisting with the characters. Feeling the joy, chills, anger or pain. Learn lessons that weren’t taught in schools and see this world differently.
