As 32 states and Union Territories had earlier imposed complete lockdown till March 31, so the Centre's move to impose a total lockdown essentially extends the restrictions to April 14. "I am confident that every citizen in this time of crisis will follow the directions of the government and local administration. 21 days of lockdown is a long time but this is important for your safety and the safety of your family," the prime minister says. "I pray to all of you that if you suffer from any symptoms of this disease, please do not take any medicines without taking prescription from doctors. Any such carelessness can put your life in more danger," warns the prime minister. PM Warns People Against Rumours | Warning people against rumours, PM Modi says, "Friends, you should be cautious as knowingly or annoyingly many times rumours are also spread. In a first, a mobile network company called Lynk has just sent a text message from an orbiting satellite to a normal smartphone right here on Earth. The company’s accomplishment was possible due to its patented ‘cell tower in space’ technology. You can easily guess that these are of course satellites, to be precise low-Earth nanosatellites that have the ability to directly connect to a normal smartphone.Lynk makes it clear that the smartphones were unmodified, without any changes in hardware or software. Rather the innovation is with the technology developed for the satellite. As TechCrunch’s Devin Coley explains, these satellites are able to establish a connection on normal smartphone frequency which is different from a special satellite phone that establishes a connection on satellites frequency. With its ‘cell tower in space’ technology, the company wants to provide better broadband connectivity in every corner of the world. By removing the need for constructing a cell tower in remote locations, Lynk wishes to connect the people who can afford a phone but don’t have the infrastructure of a mobile network. To achieve its goal, the company has launched four satellites to create its network in space. The fourth spacecraft called 'Lynk The World' was launched aboard SpaceX’s CRS-20 mission on March 6th to allow further testing of technology. Co-founder and CEO of Lynk, Charles Miller said in a press release, “This is a game-changer for the billions of people who own a mobile phone, for the billions who do not have affordable connectivity, and for the entire mobile communications industry.” https://www.instagram.com/p/B9--axwDKaS/?igshid=1fuoh6qwef9ry

As the Delhi High Court heared a plea seeking FIR for those involved in the ongoing violence in Northeast Delhi, it observed that "a situation like 1984 must not be repeated again, not under the watch of this Court." The court observed that "it was time to provide Z-level security to citizens, as it was for everyone." Standing counsel apprised the Court that there is an official confirmation on 17 deaths due to violence in North East Delhi. The Delhi High Court has asked administration to set up helplines to help victims, private ambulances to be provided for safe passage of victims. The court has also directed the officials to set up shelters for rehabilitation along with basic facilities. The bench of Justices S Muralidhar and Anup J Bhambhani, termed as "extremely unfortunate" the killing of IB officer in the ongoing violence in which 20 people have died and over 180 injured. "While order was being dictated mid night, police was implementing it right there and rescuing injured persons," the bench said during the day's hearing. It added that the highest constitutional functionaries who move with Z-security should reach out to the affected people to give them confidence that law is functioning. Twenty one people, including a Delhi Police head constable, have died so far in the riots that broke out on Monday in Maujpur and Jafrabad areas of Delhi’s North East district. Nearly 150 were wounded and property--cars, homes, shops and a petrol pump--were set on fire amid heavy stone-pelting and violence that was unleashed on the streets of India’s national capital.
