Mechagodzilla lore (Part 2)
Here is part 2 in the lore deep dive of my iteration of Mechagodzilla! Without further ado, let’s proceed.
Meru Ozawa, a Japanese cadet from the American Academy of Psychics is selected as the pilot for Mechagodzilla. Due to her background experience as a airman in the US airforce. In addition to her superb psychic powers. She serves as a rival to Akane Yashiro initially at the beginning of the story, but over time she mellows and she comes to respect Akane. Meru also has a twin sister named Reiko, who was locked away in solitary confinement following her using psychic powers that lead to a boy being left in a state of sleep paralysis for a few months. He came out of it alive, albeit with a severe case of insomnia and traumatic sleep disorder.
When Mechagodzilla goes berserk as the spirit of the original Godzilla took hold. Meru accidentally mind melds with the spirit. She witnesses the memories of Gojira. His time before the bomb, spending time with his family. Then the aftermath, the scorching pain of the bomb and its lingering poison in his body. Followed by his mutation into a powerful beast. Next his raid on Ota Shima, followed by his attack on Tokyo and his death following there after.
Even after being separated from the Neural Interface Network, Meru is left in a comatose state. She is rushed to a hospital where she sees visions of Gojira’s past, and begins to communicate with the ghost. Forming a inseparable psychic link between each other. Gojira is also able to see into Meru’s mind as well. Seeing her memories of her childhood with her mother and sister, and how she lost them. Her mother died of breast cancer, while her sister was incarcerated in a maximum security penitentiary for “mutants.” The two developed a close relationship with each other and Meru grows to become a advocate for Kaiju rights, revealing the truth behind Gojira and showing the Kaiju were sentient and sapient beings. Although others claim that she is simply disturbed by what happened to her, and that the Mech simply glitched.
In the events following this, Meru recovers and a reinforced security system is installed to prevent the spirit of Gojira from taking control of the robot. Meru continues to pilot the Mech for the next 5 years. Although her behaviour does appear to have changed since her exposure to the mind meld. Besides advocating for Kaiju rights, she is notably more aggressive and prone to anger than she was before. Likely the effect of the two leaving traces of themselves in each other’s minds. She starts working out as a outlet for her anger, as well as going to anger management classes to help her cope with it. Some of them haven’t gone all that well.
One time she grew so angry, she accidentally summoned the spirit of Gojira into Mechagodzilla’s body. Causing the Mech to go a brief but devastating rampage, drawn to her location by their psychic link. The Mech was only able to be stopped when Meru calmed down. Upon doing so the possessed Mechagodzilla ceased its rampage, and acknowledged Meru before shutting down due to the mech’s failsafe installed by APEX.
Despite the safety measures being implemented, Mechagodzilla would still continue to go berserk on several occasions. However, thanks to Meru she was able to use it to her advantage in combat. One such occasion was when Mechagodzilla was deployed to fight a rogue biological weapon code named Destoroyah.
One of the biggest challenges that Meru faced as Mechagodzilla’s pilot was during the invasion of the Symbiotic Legion. A vast symbiotic empire composed of multiple different species cooperating together for the singular purpose of expanding their kind across the universe. By terraforming the planets they conquered to enable them to survive and continue the cycle onwards to other worlds.
In the final battle against the Legion, Meru and Mechagodzilla joined forces with the Earth Defenders in defence of their home planet. Mechagodzilla was able to deliver a devastating blow against the Queen of the Legion, softening her up for the rest of the monsters to finish her off. Although this left Mechagodzilla out of commission for 4 years afterwards. Leading to extensive repairs to be done in addition to upgrading the Mech’s arsenal with the latest technology.
That’s where I’m going to leave this one off for now. Hope you guys enjoyed learning more about this iteration of the Mechagodzilla. I might likely make more parts for later down the line.

Mechagodzilla lore (Part 1)
Here’s a little look into one of the main antagonists of the Godzilla centric side of my AU. The Metallic doppelgänger and would be usurper for the throne, Mechagodzilla!
The way I have envisioned this iteration of the character is a amalgam of his different depictions over the years. The biggest sources of inspiration being both his Millennium and Monsterverse incarnations, with extra sources both made and unmade.
Mechagodzilla is a product created by APEX Cybernetics, a powerful company which is run by Kuronuma Mutsumi and his co-founder and business partner Walter Simmons.
The two men met at a New Year’s party while Walter was visiting Tokyo in 1978. The two soon realised they both shared the same aspirations and fascination with technological advancement. So the two joined together to form APEX as it is known today.
Together with ruthless leadership and aggression, APEX was able to claw its way through the business hierarchy. Creating a colossal monopoly over the world market. With hundreds of subsidiaries all over the world.
APEX has served as a major supplier of machinery and equipment for the military industry. Having previously worked with the PPAMDF (Pan-Pacific Anti-Megafauna Defence Force) to develop new weapons in the effort to combat the Kaiju threat across the world. With Mechagodzilla being the latest and most advanced weapon to be created.
However, not everything is as it seems…
Kuronuma and some others in his employment are actually aliens in disguise. Who plot to use the Mech to conquer the planet. Then auction it off to other alien species in a colossal bidding war. Kuronuma (Real name: Kulu-Elu Rolu-Be) was once a great general of the race known as the Bilusaludo who was exiled for war crimes in a war against one of their enemies. Alongside other convicts, Kuro was imprisoned abroad the prison station Iron Rock for several years. Until he broke out with his fellow Simians.
Fleeing escape and evading arrest by the Star League of Sol, Kuro and his team arrived on Earth where he created the Black Hole 3 Syndicate to carry out criminal activities on Earth.
Kuro hopes that once the auction ends he will have enough money to use against his people by creating a army of Mechas and overthrow the government of his species. Ruling it as a military dictatorship. Spoiler but his home world ends up being sucked into a black hole. He discovers that fact when his schemes on earth have failed and is forced to flee the planet.
(Now back to Mechagodzilla!)
APEX salvages the remains of the original Godzilla to use as a biological wireframe for the Mech to be constructed around.
Grafting the skeleton into the metallic shell via genetic engineered nerve tissue to allow the Mech to move. With a techno-organic brain implanted into the creature’s skull. This brain has a series of wires that act like nerves that connect throughout the body of the Mecha. This brain is operated by the AI AKIRA, however it is simply a co-pilot program. The purpose of the programme serving as a means of transmitting orders from the real source of control.
From a specialised neural interface chamber constructed by APEX, a human pilot is able to control the Mech’s movements and actions. Amplifying psionic energy to create a drift connection between mech and pilot, connected by a satellite from Earth’s orbit to control the Mech without the pilot required to operate the machine manually inside it. Although this option remains available for use should the receiver on the Mech be damaged. With the cockpit of the Mech being stored inside its neck region.
Mechagodzilla is built with all the latest technology and tools in combating the Kaiju. Armour piercing missiles capable of borrowing into the flesh of enemy monsters. Powerful shredding metal claws and a drill at the end of its tail. His most powerful weapon being the Mega Buster cannon. A cannon housed in its oral cavity which weaponises refractive light, creating a rainbow like appearance when fired. He has numerous other weapons, but I’ll include those in a separate list for the future.
Despite being one of the most advanced machines to be created by humanity. Mechagodzilla does have some flaws.
Turns out using the bones of a dead Kaiju and grafting nerves to it wasn’t the best idea APEX had. Despite its death, the spirit of the dead Gojira was roused from its rest and began to exert its influence over the Mech. Wrestling with AKIRA and its pilot for control of the Mech’s motor and weapons system. In most instances the spirit usurps any and all control of the Mech. Shutting off connections to the neural network temporarily.
Sorry, but I’m going to have to cut this short. Because I got a crap ton more to show, but this post is pretty big enough. So, I’ll be splitting it into parts. Hope you enjoyed this, stay tuned for more details and information about this project in the future!

There’s a idea I have regarding the four pillars of my AU. That being is the different themes of the Daikaiju verse. Here’s what Godzilla, King Kong, Gamera and Ultraman represent in terms of the themes in my AU.
• Godzilla represents duality and balance. Presenting conflicts that on the surface are between good and evil, but upon closer examination is a more complex and grey area. Godzilla’s own dynamic with humanity reflects the general conflict between man and nature. Of the constant struggle to survive and thrive in a brutal uncertain world. We like to see morality through black and white lenses. While there are certainly plenty of people who fall on either end, most of if not all of us are somewhere between the two sides. The truth is that life is complicated, and that we are all just humble creatures trying to make our way through the world.
• Kong represents spirituality and faith. Seeking enlightenment in a world where chaos runs rampant. Looking towards a higher power and to each other for guidance and strength. Kong is a deeply spiritual creature, seeking to understand his place in the world. Undergoing a pilgrimage to enlightenment, to find eternal peace in a world of darkness. On his journey he learns to have faith, not just in himself but in others as well. Forming relationships with powerful ties and growing trust in each other.
• Gamera represents redemption and forgiveness. In a world where the folly of man has lead to untold suffering for all, there is still a chance to change for the better. If they try hard enough. Gamera initially is a vengeful creature driven by a burning desire to punish those who upset the balance of nature. Over the course of the narrative he builds a closer relationship between humanity. He begins to understand that there is room for redemption. That forgiveness is something to be admired, not a weakness.
• Ultraman represents hope and the potential good of humanity. Trying to see the good in everything, even when things are tough. Hope is a fundamental part of humanity and Ultraman wants to help us remember that. He strives to improve, not just for personal growth. But to bring out the best in everyone else. Even a great hero like Ultraman is flawed. He is naive regarding morality, but over the course he spends with humanity he sees potential for growth and a better future.
That’s what I think the four represent. Coming together to form the themes of my universe.

Here is the full body image of my Godzilla design. While I confess that it is not perfect. It is the closest thing I have to the design in my head. I think it serves adequately enough for the purpose of representing my Godzilla.

Kujin, Second Godzilla and the father of Giras.
Here’s some background info for him:
Kujin is the second Godzilla to appear. He much like the previous Godzilla, a member of the Gigantis Gojira (The Species name for his kind) who became irradiated from nuclear testing.
Much like his predecessor went on a warpath against humanity. Eventually dragging the world into disorder. With the upheaval, Kaiju started to awaken all across the globe. Threatening mankind’s existence.
As a result Kujin was confronted and fought by virtually everyone. Humans and Kaiju alike.
However, he has also (unintentionally at least) save the world from disaster several times before. He has even made friends with some of the other Kaiju. Most notably Anguirus.
In time he eventually found peace. At least for a time. He met a female member of his species, named Bujin. Together they had children. Settling on the island of Sollgel. Unfortunately, most of the clutch along with Bujin perished when a freak weather storm struck the island in snow. Only one egg survived the storm. Taken back to Japan by the same people who had caused the disaster in the first place.
Enraged Kujin pursued the group to Japan. Reclaiming his last child, whom he named Giras.
Giras inherited his father’s mutation and so Kujin decided to mentor his son in the ways of combat.
Alas, their time together was short. As mankind has just produced a terrible weapon known as Project: Destoroyah. Who ended Kujin’s life. But not before he took the demonic bio-weapon down with him.

The Daikaiju Verse Project
Hello everyone! Welcome to the Daikaiju Verse! A special project that I have been in the process of developing for close to a decade now.
It is a my personal AU (Alternative Universe) take of Godzilla, King Kong, Gamera and Ultraman. All existing in the same universe.
I will (attempt) to post new entries all relating to my series. Note several of them are still WIP (Work In Progress) and most importantly, I do not claim any of the characters or creatures presented here in. All the characters presented here are the intellectual property of Toho Company Limited, The Kadokawa Corporation, Warner Bros. Discovery or Tsuburaya Productions respectively.
This project is entirely for fun and as such not profit.
However, if this series does get any support from the community. I will welcome it!
