Just in case Trump wins:
right after Trump was elected in 2016, suicidality skyrocketed. If you’re considering suicide in the wake of the election this year, at least wait until after it’s absolutely certain that he’s won - after every vote has been counted, every state certified, and maybe even after he’s been sworn in (IF he wins), just to make sure he doesn’t go to prison instead. Watch the results come in live here, but don’t obsess or let them sway your vote. (To be clear, I don’t want a single person to commit suicide over the election results, no matter what. But I know from experience that “don’t do it” is thoroughly unhelpful, so instead I’m saying at least wait.)
if you’re considering suicide because you fear worsening material conditions, you might think a hotline can’t help with that. and it’s true that they can’t change legislation or promise you’ll be safe. but it’s worth double checking whether what you’re actually hurting from is in fact unfixable. right now, just getting through the emotions can help you regain a more objective view of the situation, and then you can work on surviving it. plus, when something bad happens, we tend to vastly overestimate how bad it will seem in the future, no matter how bad it actually is.
In my experience, it might take a few tries before you find a hotline that picks up, either because they’re so busy, or they’re closed at that time, or they simply don’t serve your location or demographic, so under the thingy I’ve listed more than just the same handful that tend to show up on other websites. Even if you’re not actively suicidal, you can talk to them about your hard feelings, ask for material resources, or just vent to a compassionate listener.

Anyway American trans friends, now's the time to put "be gay do crime" into practice and the first step is to get onto secure communication channels so you're not discussing details of what you're doing and how on the public internet.

i've been feeling incredible anger and frustration lately with these posts lamenting what the next four years will look like in the u.s., how much "worse" things will get under the trump administration, as if we haven't been witnessing a holocaust for the past year funded by the biden administration. if you have seen a single video from gaza, a single picture, read a feature from a gazan journalist, spoken to a single person in your inbox when they plead for your attention and help, words like "worse" or "better" turn to ash in your mouth. just yesterday my friend hilda texted me that even when her family manages to get food, smoke from the fire needed to cook aggravates her sinus allergies, making it difficult to breathe. this is how she's been living for the past year and a month, under a democrat-funded genocide.
below is a small fraction of the palestinians who have reached out to me for help with their campaigns. it is a huge source of shame to me that i can't keep up with all of the people in my inbox. please go to their accounts and read their stories. and please give what you can spare.

Help Mohammad, Basma, and their two children.
Now please hear the plea sent to me:
"I am Mohammad Taysir, 34 years old, a Palestinian living in Gaza. I am married to Basma, and we have two children: Joud, who is 3 years old, and Yazan, who is 2 and a half [...] I was happy with my job, and our dreams were focused on building a bright and beautiful future for our children. We had a large, beautiful home that sheltered us, full of many wonderful memories."
"We tried to flee more than five times to safer areas in search of security, but safety in Gaza has become nearly impossible."
This fundraiser currently sits at €17,672 raised of it's €50K goal.

Hello Please pay attention🙏🙏
Hello everyone, I am Haya Jouda, a Palestinian refugee from Gaza City and a mother of three male children, the youngest of whom is Youssef.
As you know, the fierce and destructive war is still continuing on my beloved city...
Like all Gazans, I and my children have tasted the bitterness and oppression of displacement many times in dangerous places that are unsafe and unfit for life in any way...
During the displacement process, I noticed that my little boy's health was not good, and suddenly he fell into a coma, only to find out after miserable tests in the dilapidated and destroyed hospitals that he had suffered from a malfunction of the pancreatic system resulting in (type 1 diabetes), severe vitamin D deficiency, kidney and liver dysfunction, and severe infections in the urinary system....
I gathered my strength and decided to defy all odds and get out of Gaza at any cost in a last attempt to save my little boy ... I travelled to Egypt, where I have no means of travelling, no costs for my son's treatment and no money...
I am a homeless refugee in a country where I and my children have nothing....
But I refuse to give in to despair and with a heart full of oppression and sadness, I extend my hand to get your help and solidarity with my innocent child. ....
Your support will give my child a new life in good health ....
Please share my 6-year-old son's story widely to reach all those who want to help, love and donate on my child's link in the programme. ⤵️
Your donation can sow hope for my little boy's survival for a better life and future...
I love you and thank you.

Healing support for my mothe🙏
My mothers story began in 2010 when my mother was diagnosed with an enlarged and underactive thyroid gland. After several doctor visits and medical examinations, it was decided that she needed to have both her thyroid and parathyroid glands removed, followed by the necessary treatment. Unfortunately, her health continued to deteriorate due to the harsh conditions we live under. 😔
In 2009, during one of the attacks on our home, my mother inhaled white phosphorus from the bombs that were dropped on us, leading to new health issues. Over the years, with continuous displacement due to the wars and the destruction of our home, we now live in a small tent that is no larger than 4 square meters.
In this tent, I live with my wife, my three daughters, my father, my mother, and my four siblings. With no steady income, a lack of food, and access only to contaminated water, my mother's health worsened. She developed serious health problems like liver enlargement, a weakened immune system, and severe pain in her bones and joints due to the gland removal and severe calcium and vitamin deficiencies, despite intensive treatment. 🩺💊
Recently, doctors have determined that my mother urgently needs joint replacement surgery in both of her feet due to the unbearable pain and her inability to walk properly. The cost of one joint is $15,000, and she needs two, bringing the total to $30,000. 🦵
We do not have the financial means to cover these costs, and I humbly reach out to you, asking for your help to save my mother and ease her pain. Any contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in her life and give her hope for recovery. ❤️🙏

Sami's Last Dream: Escaping the Hell of Gaza in Search of Safety
In Gaza, where life has become nothing more than a fight for survival, Sami and His Family are living a never-ending nightmare. Every new day brings more destruction and fear, and what once was a safe home for them has turned into rubble and painful memories.
Their house collapsed entirely before their eyes. The sound of the explosion that destroyed everything, the relentless scene of devastation, and the tears of his children that have not stopped, have all become a constant reality in Sami's life. His three children—Jud, Lin, and Misk—clung to their mother in the corner of the tent that has become their only refuge. But even this tent cannot protect them from the scorching summer heat or the bitter winter cold. ️
Sami has lost everything. The shop that was their only source of income is gone, and now he stands powerless, watching his family suffer, unable to do anything for them. The mother tries to hide her tears, fearing she might break down in front of her children, and the siblings share this pain without knowing when it will end.
Amid all this pain, Sami clings to one last dream—a dream that seems distant but is all he has left. He wants to take his family far away from this hell, to find a safe place where his children can sleep without the fear of bombings, where they can learn and grow without the scars of war. He wants to see his children smile again, to give them a chance at a life stolen from them by the war.
But even this simple dream comes with great challenges. The cost of traveling through the Rafah border crossing is exorbitant—$5,000 per adult and $3,000 per child. With seven family members, these costs are more than just numbers; they are a massive hurdle that Sami cannot overcome alone.
Additionally, there are many other expenses such as securing housing, food, and medical care after leaving Gaza, making the situation even more difficult.
Today, Sami and his family stand on the edge of despair. They need your help now more than ever. Every donation, no matter how small, can be a step towards realizing Sami's last dream—to take his family to a place far from this tragedy. A place where they can start anew, and live with dignity and safety. ✨
Help Sami achieve this dream.
Donate now and be the ray of hope that saves this family from the darkness surrounding them. Let us be the reason his children smile again, and give them the chance at the life they deserve.
