miraculous ladybug is a series that focuses on fashion but fails to capture it well, not with just it’s visuals but the writing as well. they do not know how an actual photoshoot and fashion show runs, along with barely knowing how to make their make character’s passion for fashion relevant to the ongoing story line.
also in this i speak about paris is burning, the importance of fashion to poc and the lgbtq community, b.a.p.s., the parkers, that’s so raven, true jackson vp, ai yazawa. and totally spies.
worked really hard on this one rn. please give it a watch and leave a comment please! thank you.

Hi, my name is Harriyanna Hook, and I am a college student and content creator studying English and African American Studies. I created a web series called The Progenies back in 2020. The Progenies is a Descendants fan series. What encouraged me to make this show was the use of disturbing diversity in the Descendants movies. Since I was a teenager, I have been a massive fan of Descendants, and I wanted to put my spin on the story with better representation.
We entered our pilot into Campus Moviefest in October 2020. Though we did not win, many people were impressed with it and wanted to see more of the story. Because of that, I decided to do crowdfunding through another site to get money to make more episodes because the pilot cost $2,000, and I paid for it all myself. The campaign was unsuccessful. This was also when my late mother needed me, so I couldn’t spend as much time on the series as I wanted to. But I still wanted to give the fans of the show something. I was so passionate about this project that I decided to work harder and get the money to film myself and found a way to make the series while also being there for my mother when she needed me. So we created numerous short episodes.
Altogether, this show has cost me roughly $15,000, and it’s nowhere near finished. I made this much because I took on many extra jobs and side gigs.
Fans of this series have been asking me when production starts back up, and I have not been able to give them an answer because of how expensive it is to make this series. I love this project, I genuinely do, but I can’t keep going broke over it. I have to support myself, my business, my youtube channel, my education, my family, and my health. I have to focus on school and can’t neglect that to work more to have the funding for this series.
While there are numerous episodes of this series, I would like to raise money to get production started back up and have the funding to film at least three episodes this summer.
What will this money be going to? The funds will go towards renting locations, costumes, makeup, meals, snacks, props, gas, lighting, and paying the cast and crew (excluding me). The team includes production assistants, editors, a director of photography, a photographer, a storyboard artist, and a casting assistant.
The episodes are already written. The makeup looks have been decided. The costumes have been put together. The locations have been picked out. We have everything we need to start production again, except money. I am not asking for money for the entire production; I am asking for money to get it up again. People have reached out to me about how much they appreciate this show and how me being a black female filmmaker has been very inspiring to them. Black women are often overlooked/not given the opportunity to make their shows and movies, and I am doing what I can to try and change that. I did something complicated, and that was creating my show. Since I was a little girl, it has been my dream to have my own show, and I’m glad I took the risk and went through with it. We need more black female filmmakers. I love Descendants, and I want to continue to tell this story from a black woman’s perspective. Our episodes will be linked here if you are interested in what we have so far.

If you donate, you won’t just be me supporting me; you’re supporting black women in film. The film industry is a work field where many of us aren’t showrunners and are often pushed to the side. Black women should be able to tell their own stories. A few black women started making web series and are now booking jobs with big companies. If you give me a chance to continue my web show, it will lead to bigger and better things for me and everyone involved in this project.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my story. Even if you can’t donate, just a simple share would mean the world to me.
The Captain, Harriyanna Hook

Four rich fathers go golfing.
One of them stays behind to pay the bill and the other three proceed to the first hole. While golfing, the three fathers start bragging about their sons.
The first father says, “I am very proud of my son Arthur; he is my pride and joy. He started working at a very successful company at the bottom of the barrel and now he is at the top! He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes Benz for his birthday.”
The second fathers says, “My son Ivan is also my pride and joy, I am very proud of him. He went to flight school to become a pilot and managed to become a partner in the company where he now owns the majority of the assets. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday.”
The third father says, “Well, well, well - congratulations! My son, Ludwig, is also my pride and joy and is also very rich. He became an engineer. He started his own construction company and became very successful and a multimillionaire. He built a mansion especially for his best friend.”
Then the fourth father catches up and they ask him how his son is doing.
The fourth father replies, “Oh, my son Alfred is gay and he makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub.”
The three friends shake their heads and say, “What a shame, you must be so unhappy! How tragic.”
The fourth father replies with a bright smile, “Oh no, I am not ashamed at all! Alfred is my son and I love him just as well; he’s my pride and joy. And he is much loved by his friends too. Did you know that his birthday just passed and the other day he received a Mercedes Benz, a brand new jet and a huge mansion from his three suitors?”

Reminder that nonbinary people are in fact… trans? Like you don’t need to list “nonbinary people and trans people” separately. It’s okay, we know that we’re trans. We’re already included. Come on.

Crack theory. Are you ready? Well too bad.
Andalites are hexapods. They have stingers. They have sensory antennae. They love plants. They have a hierarchical society with royal titles. They're fluffy. They can fly, kind of. They love sweet things. They build very basic shelters that blend into the environment despite being capable of more. They're mostly harmless but will kill you dead if you anger them. And they need plenty of room to zoom about to be happy.
Andalites are bees.
