As a nonbinary who doesn’t go by my legal name I really appreciated the dabi fic! It makes me uncomfortable how many fics include his legal name. I get he reveals it later on but he’s kept that part to himself and it’s very personal to him. Especially since he doesn’t see himself as touya anymore.

I personally don't mind the fics that include his legal name, depending on how that individual perceives Dabi! I myself don't use my legal name and it felt refreshing to portray Dabi in a way that can make others like us feel comfortable and seen! Dabi seems like a very private person and using the name Dabi shows the character some respect!!

♡ We all know Dabi had a rough childhood and his teenage years weren't much better, but we don't know exactly what made him change his name for sure

♡ However, he changed it regardless and something about calling him Dabi and not Touya is kind of heart warming

♡ Think about it, he built a new identity after everything was ripped from him so I'm sure his identity as Dabi means a significant amount to him (he doesn't have much even now)

♡ Dabi would probably appreciate if his significant other called him by his chosen name, that's who he is now and he left Touya behind years ago

♡ It would give him some fluffy feeling that someone accepts him for who he chose to be

♡ I think in some circumstances Dabi would feel like you are pressuring him to be someone he's not anymore by calling him Touya, it's a sour reminder of the boy his father didn't want

♡ The respect you show him makes him melt inside, gives him that fuzzy feeling in his chest

♡ If you ever slipped up and called him Touya, I think he would probably get pissy about it but just give him time to calm down, he's just processing the mistake

♡ (Lowkey headcanon he has a hard time processing change in his environment or behavior in others)

♡ I love both names for him but I think is canon preference would be Dabi <3

I've heard many pet names people use for Dabi but I pose a new one: tom-cat.

Tom cats are large male, usually feral, alley cats. I just think he's such a feline energy and he's just a guy who hangs out in alleys all big and intimidating like!!! Prove me wrong.

♡ Ok so I think that it would take Dabi a LONG ass time to get to the point where he is openly affectionate with his partner

♡ But when he does it’s over for you, like there is no escape from his grasp 

♡ Dabi is the type to pretend like he isn't interested in cuddles but in reality he loves your hugs, so much so that he will even pout like a child if you don't cuddle him enough each day

♡ He runs on a schedule too, morning cuddles for at LEAST 30 minutes every morning (often making you late for work)

♡ If you work from home you better believe he's whining and complaining about how you should be in his arms instead of at your "stupid" desk

♡ Nighttime is when he reaches his peak cuddle bug form, clutching onto you like a koala from the moment you or him gets home and he down right refuses to let go

♡ Hell, he'll even follow you into the shower sometimes (not always in that kinda way but occasionally sometimes ;)) or he sits on the sink and chats with you while you shower

♡ Oh and when he's sick he's the absolute worst, basically making sure you don't leave his side by either laying on you with all his weight or fake crying to make you stay
