scene 4
scene 3 ends with the stage filled so densely with haze so the audience can barely see stage management clearing away the set - leaving a blank stage. the haze/smoke creates a clear division between the mystical dreamscape of scene 3, so as it disperses away leaving the blank stage, so does the fantasy fade back to reality.
Tumblr media
the writer and director appear through the haze and carry out the dialogue of scene 4. the blank stage mimics scene 1 - but isn't as bright and thus doesn't feel as free as when the writer first takes the stage.

scene 2
Tumblr media
set is inflated / arranged around the boyfriend by female stage management (maybe he should be included in the image? seen standing alone in an empty stage first?)
a fraction of the director can be seen in the wings
Tumblr media
inflatable set is popped (by stage management?)
non-inflatable props boxed up by stage management
Tumblr media
the writer and the remnants of the set is all that's left onstage.
the speaker playing baby crying falls from ceiling
writer bends down to turn it off
fraction of the director can still be seen in the wings

inflatable kitchen set for scene 2
I think this edit has more of the 3D aspect I was hoping to convey... it would be comprised of 2 individual inflatables,, the back and also the front island would be seperate, so the actors can move between them like the kitchen is its own space

experimenting with visually representing an inflatable kitchenette, using the inflatable texture I made an an overlay... not sure how convincing it is,, still kinda looks like an image rather than the 3D texture look I'm going for

notes from class 4/10
recycle elements / objects within subsequent scenes... the objects have their own journey
show time in the storyboard.. - overall duration of the scene, transformation of object/costume/space
don't use multiple black outs (bad form )
consider the floor
reinforce/inform the ‘rules’ of reality in ur design
consider what exactly the projections look like and what they're saying about the scene... is it realistic, documentary, abstract blocks ? etc..
what is the surface of the projection?
presentation standard
- level of detail, appropriate rendering style
- composition
- understand/communicate the visual heirachy
- they dont need to be static... they could be videos, models, gifs etc, animation?
- address all aspects (photo from whiteboard)
- identify what aspects require more detail/emphasis

scene 2 draft
Tumblr media
the couch and kitchen set are made out of inflatables, which are blown up around boyfriend by stage management. and the end of the scene, the inflatables are popped by stage management, and the table and other non-inflatable props are disassembled and boxed up.
