Intracommunity Jewish things:
Goyim/non-Jews: Please feel free to reblog this, but do not add to it, and especially do not add to it asking for it to be explained to you. Also, do not send me asks asking for an explanation.
Please don't use this as a platform for debating the merits of gets. That's not the point.

Ok, I'm drunk and typing
Does anyone else think that at this point gender politics have basically become autobots VS decipticons?
I am ace demiromantic and gender neutral. And fucking old. And tired.

Something must be wrong with me, I haven't talked about the beadnet dress in forever.
It consists of seven thousand faience beads in blue green and blue to imitate turquoise and lapis lazuli. It is 4600 years old (the threading is modern, but the beads were found in their original pattern so this reconstruction is as accurate as it can be). It is one of the most gorgeous garments in existence and was owned by a woman who was a contemporary of king Khufu.
The dress was found in her tomb in Giza, known as Tomb G 7440 Z, and it's the earliest known garment of this type.

because i love y’all, i’m sharing my family’s recipe for apple tea (traditional fall/winter drink in west asia, turkey, and many areas of the balkans)
it’s like a more delicate version of apple cider and i basically live off of this stuff when the weather starts to cool!
Apple Tea (for two)
1 large apple or 2 small, shredded (you can use a cheese grater)
3 cups water
1-2 cinnamon sticks
2-3 pc clove (optional)
honey to taste
1 tsp of lemon juice (add at end)
green tea (optional! the lebanese version usually calls for green tea but i actually prefer it without. up to you!)
throw it all in a pot and let it simmer on a low temperature for an hour or so. while it’s simmering, it will also make your home smell delicious! (if you make it with green tea, add the tea at the end, about five minutes before taking it off the heat so the flavor doesn’t become bitter from oversteeping). strain into your cups and enjoy hot.
end result:

Finally, I have words to describe it.
One advantage of not really having a strong sense of gender identity is that you’re very [shrug emoji] about how people gender you. Sometimes people call me by she/her pronouns and sometimes they go with he/him pronouns and on the internet people often default to they/them, and neither option is entirely right but also, fuck if I know what would be right, and I don’t particularly care. Therefore I’m perfectly happy to outsource my gender identity to the people around me who actually need to figure out which box to put me in. I don’t need to talk about myself in third person, so really my pronouns sound like a you problem.
