HANABIE

For the past year, I have been infatuated by the Japanese four-piece known as HANABIE. All four are just insane at what they deliver. They have a sound I haven’t heard anyone else touch. The mix between the soft and hard vocals are one of their selling points.

Long story short, they’re back in Australia next week and I bought a ticket plus a VIP pass. Plus to top it off, these girls are my live concert virginity taker. 40 years old and it took a Japanese girl band to get me to my first.

UPDATE: 9/11/24-

Te concert was sick as frell. The opening band was Gloom In The Corner from Melbourne and to me, sounded a lot like Periphery but heavier?

But, back to our girls. Yukina has a voice on par with a demon wanting to escape. During one of the songs, she made a noise that pierced ears. Twice. Hettsu and Matsuri were shredding like it was going out of style and Chika looked set to destroy her kit. During ‘Be the GAL’ I think we made the loudest WTF so far. After one of the songs, Yukina got corrupted to do a ‘Shoey’. And she did. And put the damn thing back on her foot.

At the end, the crowd were chanting for an encore and got two. I didn’t witness it because I had a train to catch home. The night was really fun and no incidents occurred, so I deemed that a good night out.

All Hallows

I find it funny how ‘norms’ think dressing as witches, vampires and other ‘scary’ things, but for people like me, days like Halloween allow me to ‘drop my act’ and be myself for a while.

This year, I’m at a crossroads in my life, where it could be a preview for the rest of my life. Of course I need other willing individuals to help fulfil that.

Name Change

As you may have noticed, I changed my nom de guerre here and plan on doing so across all my social media haunts. Why? Well, my previous one was too close to my ‘friends and associates’ alias and want3d one that reflects my interests in TTRPGs. To that end I created the alias ‘CyberBloodDragon’, combing my interest of Cyberpunk, D&D (not sure how long thanks to greedy as fuck Hasbro) and Vampire The Masquerade. Sometimes I may need to shorten it in order to meet character limits. I’m also trying to get stuff done in order to ‘cosplay’ myself at certain events. Also might tap skottikimble to do some preliminary art.

Core Gundam

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been infatuated by Hiroto’s Core Gundams and their variants (including Alus’). So far, I built the Alus and Hiroto Earthree, the Core Plus/Plutine as well as numerous armours. My initial idea was to build them similar to the Sailor Scouts.

Yes, my previous post was about building models on a ‘salvage’ focus but as always and thanks to my Asperger’s, once I saw both the Alus and Earthree available, I had to buy them.

Maybe once the EX and Solari release, I’ll have settled down. But with Gundam Breaker 4 releasing end of August, I doubt it

MOBILE SUIT/GUNDAM SALVAGE DIRECTIVE

I’ve kinda struggled in my motivation on which kits I want to buy and build. Then I bought the MGSD Freedom without realising how damaged it was in GSD. Then a thought hit me: salvage. Then I bought the MGSD Barbatos and attempted to put Barbie’s legs into the Freedom’s waist. Going to wait until I buy another Barbie and two of the upcoming Wing.

But thanks to the MGSD line, I’ve found my mojo for gunpla.

I’ve recently caught the bug of tabletop gaming as of late. When I was on my Vampire kick, I binged all of LA By Night up to the current season and am eagerly awaiting the next season whenever it’s safe for the cast to do so. And I want to play 5e but I’m waiting for Bloodlines 2 to release so I plan my character accordingly. I’ve also gotten heavily into D&D thanks to Critical Role and have started my first character, a black Dragonborn fighter named after my namesake and influenced by Artoria Pendragon, Astolfo and the most famous female badass history has known: La Maupin aka Julie d'Aubigny.

With Cyberpunk 2077 coming out md- November, I now have a better idea how I want to play V. On PC, it will be a Corporate life path armed with a SMG and whatever passes for Murphy’s service weapon. On console, which will be a PS4/PS5, it will be a Street Kid life path with the same weapons.. V’s will basically be whatever Motoko wears in SAC1 but chrome. Oh, and their hair on the PlayStation will be neon blue.

Never have I been so hyped for a franchise I never cared for. Kinda wish I knew when Bloodlines 2 came out. Instead, World of Darkness is revealing things I never knew about in 3 month intervals.

EDIT: Now Paradox has delayed Bloodlines to next year, putting a kibosh on my VtM 5e plans.

I find myself agreeing. I love Remake for what it is, but it does have problems I found while playing it 2 weeks ago. Finding really hard to play again due to them. May pick it up on PC so modders can do their magic.

Unpopular opinion, FF7Remake has some of the worst facial animation and model renders. This makes ME: Andromeda look top tier sometimes.

2020 Games

With my cosplay plans set, I now need to note the video games I plan to play across the platforms I own/plan to own. The list is short, which is;

Microsoft: Depends on the titles and its latest hardware.

Nintendo: See above. Pokémon & Zelda are definites but I’ll be waiting until the SwPr comes out.

PC: Cyberpunk 2077 (pc to be built specifically), VtM B2

PlayStation: FFVII REMAKE (all parts), TLOU P2
