i love that idea! i think onyx was one of the most devastated at the damage the war did to their world and also one of most insistent on finding ways to repair it. half their time was spent fighting the quintessons and the other half collecting samples of everything they could get their hands on, keeping them stored away in the hopes they could be reintroduced to the ecosystem once it was safe to do so.

they may or may not have run out of space in their labs at one point and started piling them up in every room available to the point their siblings joked that they were trying to turn the tower into an indoor garden.

sadly, they never got to put their plans into action. and perhaps even more devastatingly, most of the samples were lost when sentinel "cleaned" up the tower afterwards. only a precious few were lucky enough to be overlooked and survive.

and. and maybe this isn't the most vital thing they could show optimus. maybe it isn't as important as battle tactics or government logistics. maybe it won't as helpful to his survival as another thousand little things they could teach him.

but. they don't want him to just survive. they want him to live. they want him to have hope and joy and everything that makes life worth living. they want him to know there's more than just battles and a war-torn world.

they want him to know the fields will bloom again someday.

i should note that my fandom portfolio includes such eternally sinking ships as dc & star wars, so i’ve learned never to be optimistic about a completed project being good, but like. hasbro does one even better & can’t even finish the TF stuff they put on the queue lol

honestly if we take the how long transformers can live as written the question becomes what are they doing in all that time. Do they like stand perfectly still for thousands of years or something. No way you could activately fight in wars for millions of years everyone would have been long ground down to scrap and circuits by attrition at that point

SG Orion / OG Megatron

In a twisted act of desperation, shattered glass Optimus, frustrated by how indifferent this worlds Megatron is, decides to play a cruel trick.

He removes the Matrix of Leadership from himself and reverts back to the form of Orion Pax, playing as the gentle mech Megatron once loved, yet betrayed.

Megatron, fully aware it’s not really Orion, is caught off guard.

The resemblance, the voice, the mannerisms, the weight of the hug and the memories that accompany it…

Despite knowing better, he cannot help but lean into familiarity.

Falling for the trap laid out for him.

I kinda edited this with the idea of Optimus somehow traveling back in time “over & over” again to when he was still Orion Pax after he received the memories of every other Optimus in the multiverse through the Matrix. So now he is attempting to stop his D-16 from turning into Megatron no matter how many tries it will take (Homura Akemi Style)

A very corny and cheesy AU to heal the soul

Orion is a middle-class bot, he works in the ports as the one who loads and unloads the ships that arrive to the city. In his spare time he studies a degree in physics and mechanics.

D-16 is a low-class bot, who works as a miner, he has no time to study, but he likes literature and art, he finds a way to do something about it. Being always very sentimental.

By fate they both met and what started as a casual friendship, evolved in two lovers, who are very different but complement each other as if they had the same spark.
