optics whirl, interest piqued, as the other turns his back on him. despite the other's guard being down, lockdown's doesn't shift. he's cautious of the tendrils and what they're capable of. prepared for an attack, or at the very least an attempt. lockdown lets out a gruff hum at his trophy's use of words. " i never was like the rest. " a wholehearted statement, despite keeping the company of cybertronians in his past — he considers himself vastly different to them. in pride, in wrath. how could they be like him, after all? he is a harbinger, an ultimatum... the end of the road. one could draw comparisons between himself and the grim reaper in human folklore. he was always destined to be above.

          " a good hunt is naive. satisfaction is a fool's game. i seek totality. i hunger for it. " a baring of teeth as tendril knocks near his servo. they never understand him. " i don't care what others see. " truth be told, he really only ever cared what one cybertronian saw in him. a huff. " compassion is a poison, of which you are tainted by. in a kill or be killed world, you think too much of others. perhaps that is why you are in there, and i am here. "

At first he's tempted to rise up to his full height, splay out his tendrils and claws, snarl at him and taunt him as he was taunted. But that would just prove Lockdowns point, wouldn't it? Two lonely beasts, snapping at snarling at eachother in a self built cage.

Instead he turns his back to Lockdown, sinking down to all fours as he goes to the other side of his relatively small cage. He sits, tendrils twisting and curling over each other, the subsequent 'tail' curling lazily around the cage. Arms rested on his legs and helm tilted back as he vented.

"I want a fragging cig..." He mumbled, taking off the cracked visor to rub his face. "I'm more Cybertronian than you are these days. Which says something about you, hmm? You hunt and you take trophies for what? What happened to the work? To the satisfaction of a good hunt and a good reward?" One tendril, a pincher, separated to smack against a bar close to the others servo, golden optics ringed in bright violet staring coldly up at him.

"It must be difficult, looking in a mirror Lockdown, and seeing what you really are in the optics of others."

character trait ratings — ratings are out of ten, where ten indicates an unequivocal and absolute core tenet of my muse's character.  there is no zero, a one represents the lowest possible presence of a trait, indicating an assured absence of said trait but leaving room for the rare possibility of its happening as nothing is impossible.

⸻   COMPASSION:  THREE OUT OF TEN.

compassion isn't a trait that lockdown has nurtured. he has the capacity to exhibit cognitive empathy, wherein he recognises one's misfortune or emotions and can logically understand where they're coming from, but it's not his problem nor does he care unless it directly involves him. he's shown to recognise prime's misfortune in the way the humans betrayed him after he dedicated himself to their cause, and is verbally compassionate by saying "i feel sorry for you," but internally he doesn't really.

⸻   BITTERNESS:  EIGHT OUT OF TEN.

although lockdown portrays himself to be nonchalant, disconnected and neutral, it's evident he carries bitterness with him. that he has to clean up the mess left by the autobots and decepticons mixing with species. that the war drones on. he's shown to be bitter towards those that were crusaders, whether that be out of envy or cynicism. one of the reasons he also left the decepticons was because he was bitter towards his teammates and believed they'd stab him in the back eventually. lockdown is a very bitter individual, who is lonely and misses his former partner. he appears pessimistic and bitter about prime's connections, too.

⸻   HAPPINESS:  FIVE OUT OF TEN.

lockdown is neither happy nor unhappy. he sits in the middle, content with his lifestyle and not striving for anything more. he isn't incapable of happiness, and has expressed an enjoyment when it comes to hunting, but he doesn't strive for anything more or less.

⸻   POLITENESS:  TWO OUT OF TEN.

he doesn't care for manners. lockdown gets what he wants when he wants it. this is evident in the fact that he left the decepticons when they no longer benefited him. he will form alliances as required and utilise them until his sources are drained and then he'll move on. with his power and strength, he has no reason to suck up to others or be polite in favour of not upsetting them. as for politeness towards him, he also doesn't care. mutual respect is preferred, but even outright rudeness isn't something he's fussed about. though typically, he's the one being rude.

⸻   MORALITY:  EIGHT OUT OF TEN.

he has a total understanding of morality, of right and wrong. that doesn't mean he follows it. lockdown is on the outside of morality, doing what is required to get the job done. morality doesn't prevent him from achieving this. he's able to observe the behaviour of others and deem it right or wrong, but isn't compelled to do anything more than that. he doesn't believe in good and evil, and instead has a very cynical perspective of the world that any cause will betray you in the end if you give it the opportunity. a keen enthusiast for destruction, lockdown held the same values as a decepticon, wherein he tried to execute unarmed enemies that'd surrendered and sought to bomb a fortress that his leader wanted to occupy. lockdown does what he wants, when he wants it, and doesn't let anyone, even megatron, stand in his way.

⸻   CHIVALRY:  TWO OUT OF TEN.

lockdown is a selfish individual who isn't chivalrous nor does he care about chivalry. he will always put himself first and doesn't care for interruptions. his lack of interest in things emphasises this attitude, as he doesn't see much point in being honourable, kind or courageous — what is there to benefit from?

⸻   PRIDE:  TEN OUT OF TEN.

highly egotistical, he exhibits massive amounts of smugness. lockdown is prideful of various things, such as his trophies, his skill, his wisdom, etc — however these are all amplified to cover his loneliness and feelings of isolation. lockdown has always struggled to emotionally connect with the universe around him, and finds it even harder to invest. hence why he largely invests in himself and what he does, as a distraction from just how alone he is. his pride can certainly be easily damaged, and we see this when he fights prime at the end of aoe — he's so enraged by prime's actions ( re: stealing part of his ship, freeing his hard earned bounties, etc ) he lunges straight into combat without a second thought and even when faced with multiple assailants he says "this is my fight, and you're all gonna die," showing just how confident and proud of his abilities he is.

⸻   HONESTY:  EIGHT OUT OF TEN.

he doesn't care much about honesty, but in turn doesn't care enough to be dishonest. if you're dishonest with him it says more about you than it does about him. lockdown is far too cynical to be gullible or to fall for another's lies, and is far too disinterested in the functioning of things to toy around with them and attempt to stir trouble for others. he prefers people to be upfront with him, it saves time and makes the hunt more enjoyable. what reason does he have to be dishonest? the only time he might be is when he wants something over others and intends to reach it first.

⸻   BRAVERY:  TEN OUT OF TEN.

easily confused with recklessness. lockdown is extremely brave, largely due to his inability to experience fear the way other cybertronians do. driven by desire and being a thrill-seeker makes him inclined to endure more than others and willing to be thrown into the deep end. as lockdown puts it, he "doesn't care", and it's this attitude that can make him come across as brave.

⸻   RECKLESSNESS:  TEN OUT OF TEN.

there are nuances to lockdown's recklessness. when it comes to physical confrontations, he's often more inclined to keep a cool head and come back to strike when the other least expects it. he's not opposed to catching enemies mid-fight or when they're distracted and will take advantage of any weakness presented — for example when he engages optimus despite prime being preoccupied in a fight with another enemy. however, when challenged or cornered, lockdown is inclined to be impulsive and reckless, as shown when he takes prime on alone at the end of aoe and quickly finds himself overpowered by prime's team and vulnerable. as a loner, he has immense power and even successfully overpowers prime, but as a loner, unlike prime, he hasn't got anyone to turn to for back-up or support. once in such a headspace, it's uncommon for lockdown to be able to see the error in his ways and he's capable of finding himself in predicaments because of it. he favours the hunt, and thus will sacrifice even himself if it means dying a hunter's death.

⸻   AMBITION:  FIVE OUT OF TEN.

sitting at a five out of ten, lockdown is a happy medium when it comes to ambition. he is neither ambitious nor not ambitious. he's driven to hunt and this is what he focuses all his time and energy into. but he's never genuinely cared for the destruction of cybertron, was never driven as a decepticon, and is comfortable going after a lifestyle that keeps him busy, without maintaining any specific goals or dreams.

⸻   LOYALTY:  TWO OUT OF TEN.

it's unusual for lockdown to care much about loyalty. he believes in mutually beneficial circumstances, and expects deals and contracts to be kept to but also believes that they're capable of expiring. he prefers a fast-changing environment, keeping him on his toes, which is why the idea of following the decepticons' "protocol" did him no favours. he treats everything as something that can be betrayed, so he's rarely opinionated on betrayal and believes one should always anticipate it.

⸻   LOVE:  TWO OUT OF TEN.

his love language is quality time, wherein he'll spend excessive time with those he cares about, even if it's in silence. lockdown's last love, rigged, was killed on a hunt and since then he's closed himself off to new potential relationships, preferring the company of his dangerous prey. could it be said that lockdown is in love with his work? definitely. not in the way humans experience love, but in that it's of utmost importance to him and demands all of his concentration. he enjoys his hunts and finds afterwards that he's satisfied by them. lockdown shows affection in literal ways, and also takes it literally. he's typically blunt and can appear aloof.

⸻   SENSE OF FAMILY:  ONE OUT OF TEN.

no sense of family, save for the few close bonds he's had throughout his life which have all been lost. because of this, lockdown has isolated himself entirely, save for keeping the company of creatures he's hunted. because of this, he's developed a rather rotten and pessimistic perception of the world, although he equally is a lonely individual seeking interaction through any means necessary. he has always been a loner, preferring his own company over others, but his exposure to the decepticons led him to believe that they'd be prepared to stab him in the back.

⸻   ATTRACTIVENESS:  SEVEN OUT OF TEN.

lockdown his naturally attractive given his sleek, matte appearance, though this was never intentional. the matte enables him to stalk his quarry without the light catching his armour and his form is due to how agile and nimble his alt-mode is, which was also chosen due to its speed and capacity for pursuits. he isn't designed to take on much damage and his armour doesn't protect him well, which is why he relies on his ability to dodge and land quick but effective hits. when it comes to attitude, lockdown is unlikely to be described as charismatic. he's arrogant, egotistical and shallow. he oftentimes exhibits an ugly attitude, but his alt-mode and sleekness make up for it.

⸻   AGILITY:  TEN OUT OF TEN.

an extremely agile individual, lockdown has had specific altercations made to his body to allow for above-average agility, including the altering of his spinal cord so that it's on the outside of his body, enabling him to move in ways no other cybertronians can. lithe and slender, he's graceful in his movements and makes for a formidable enemy due to his speed. sporting a lamborghini as his alt-mode, he's equally agile in vehicular mode, capable of making hasty turns and transforming in and out of his alt-mode speedily, too. because of this, lockdown relies heavily on his sniper rifle over other weapons to injure targets and gain the advantage over them with his agility.

⸻   SEX DRIVE:  TWO OUT OF TEN.

i portray lockdown as cupiosexual, which means he has the capacity to desire s*x without s*xual attraction. lockdown doesn't experience attraction in that way and is more inclined to find intelligence and prowess attractive. if a partner has the capability to escape dire situations, he's certainly drawn to them, particularly if they're a challenge for him to keep up with. rigged is a good example of a love interest for lockdown, who always kept him on his toes and proved herself to be worthy of his company by being highly skilled, agile and quick-witted. rigged was lockdown's first and last s*xual encounter, with him growing significantly disinterested and more fixated on his trophy hunting after losing her. he doesn't outwardly seek it out, but isn't adverse to it.

what a questionable existence. thieving his own treasures in favour of igniting confrontation. an interaction. have you ever been so lonely? " i am no fool, yet you seek to patronise me? my crew is programmed by me, it isn't possible! " and he's offended by the insinuation. everything on this ship has been recalibrated by him. a technical wizard in his spare time, even down to the countless traps set throughout the transport. " if you are no beast, why do you behave as one? there is no civility about you. " digits wrap confidently around the bars of the other's cage.

          " monstrous, dangerous, alone... " it's unnerving how similar they are, in that regard. would he consider himself a beast? perhaps he yearns, lightly, for someone to bring it back. his cybertronian nature. it's been a long time since he's had verbal company. " what would you call yourself? " he asks out of curiosity, his tone softer this time. disturbing, how easily he can switch between the two.

Tendrils curl and slash, a snarl low in his engine as golden optics narrow. Lips peeling back to show hooked fangs, claws splaying back as armor rattled. Jaws snapped slightly and tendrils curled up and back, away from any potentially grabbing servos.

"Why would I steal anything from you? While I'm stuck on your ship?" He snarls, tendrils snapping and slashing in the air behind him. "And how do you know you can even trust your crew!?" Arguing with someone who could take him down easily was risky. Lockdown was the better hunter, he'd seen and heard him work

But he was not going down for taking something he didn't.

"Or maybe you misplaced it, hmm? With how often you play with them." Jaw snapping shut at the last bit, tendrils twisting over each other. Speaking quieter now, voice a low hiss.

"I am not a beast, and you wouldn't know what I am if it slapped you in the face."
