both... butters probably gets the most variety in the lgbt headcanon department and being the contrarian that i am i think cishet butters is the funniest option. sometimes you just have to go with whatever makes you laff. but its not something i feel strongly about and i do like marj ^_^

yet another trans tweek post but i keep thinking about how they assigned him the role of the woman in creeks relationship. and well theres something about them trying to fit him into this mold...

so tweek is someone whos often minimized and misunderstood, stripped of his personal autonomy. theres this trend of him being pushed around and not respected (until recently) despite him being a very capable kid whos also just often in the right. people make assumptions that get him ignored or talked over because hes The Crazy One... and now the creators are doing the same thing that happens to him on the show. nevermind him being a boy in a gay relationship, he is The Girl. hes the emotional one, the "unreasonable" one. trey makes that very clear in the pid commentary. its a homophobia + misogyny issue (implying that there has to be a woman and the woman is hard to deal with) but i find it ironic that they put tweek into this box and now hes getting the woman treatment. what does that remind me of...

even when you compare him to butters—someone whose perceived femininity makes him the butt of many gay jokes—they are "feminine" in very different ways. butters is purposefully written to be soft and fairly innocent, tweek is... not notably feminine. at all. but hes being treated as such, and that is a recent development due to his gay status. wonder tweek is described as a "beautiful soft magic boy" which is Not how they would talk about him 20 years ago its actually kind of jarring. as a side note that specific blurb reminds me of the way trans men would get infantilized here on tumblr back in the day (but he is 10 years old so like whatever)

the way t&c are written in tfbw is very telling its probably the worst offender. where craig comes off as confident tweek just comes off as bratty, theres this touch of "girliness" to him that is very much intentional. hes not the one who gets to play superman either... just saying. and it comes out of nowhere & makes no sense for him & frankly feels kind of bad when you view him as cis. because you know what theyre doing. but theres a level of confidence a trans guy in a relationship with a cis guy just wouldnt have (generalizing here!) especially at their age. they would carry themselves differently and thats okay. so imo this reading only gives more depth to both his character and their dynamic

going back to my original point it just feels like tweek is fighting the narrative at all times. he has to prove himself to the other characters and now he has to prove himself to the audience too. and i wouldnt call any of this accidental trans coding cuz its really not that deep but its fun to think about from a meta perspective. assigned female by trey parker :(
