I don't believe unconditional love exists but especially if we're talking about familial love. Your family is some random bitches who you happen to be related to. They would probably not love you if you weren't biologically related to them. They love you because of your genetics & heritage. Which I believe is a fundamentally bad foundation for love to be built on.

The closest you can get to unconditional love is the love between friends. For this reason I value the bonds between friends far more than the ones between family. There's no societal pressure for my friends to love me, or to perform loving me. Organically formed bonds hold so much more weight in my mind.
