“It doesn’t.” Erik replied rather frankly, though he did listen to her plight. Hearing of another’s misfortune rarely gave him any peace, but he knew he had to take in her information. If she was telling the truth, he had to remember these subtle details. “She clearly forgets my track record with children.”
“Perhaps it would be best if I go,” Natalya murmured softly, feeling a bit of unease and awkwardness between them. Or maybe that was just on her end. Rising from her seat, she collected her jacket and bag, taking a backwards step towards the door. “I’m sorry to have disturbed you.”

Seph blinked repeatedly at her. Of course she took his words at face value. Might as well. “Right, right, of course. Well, if it’s been hours, and given how many sticky-fingered types are around here, who’s to say where it might be? but I suppose I can help.”
“That may be true, but given it was a text on Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism, I can hardly think of anyone who might be interested in it. Regardless, your help is much appreciated. The cover has symbol consisting of three connecting spirals on it.”

“No.” Erik replied rather bluntly, curious as to why the blonde would assume he would know her from Adam. He was Magneto, he had far more important things to do than to keep track of every student in the academy. Her next comment however caught him off guard, though he didn’t let it show on the outside. “…No. But that isn’t very surprising, there are plenty of things Wanda has failed to inform me of.” he started, looking her over as the new information came to light. “We aren’t exactly close.”
“Neither are she and I, if that makes you feel any better. My father saw to that. He stole me at birth and convinced her I had died, holding me his unknowing prisoner for seventeen years of my life.” It wasn’t a story she enjoyed sharing, but one she felt the man should hear. To know that his granddaughter hadn’t been purposefully kept from him by her mother. “She told me I can trust you to keep me safe.”

Despite the school year just beginning, Erik Lehnsherr had more than his fair share of work to do. He was in the middle of doing do when he heard someone approach, not making a move to acknowledge her until the girl spoke up. “ I suppose.” Erik replied as he sat up in his chair, turning all his attention toward the girl. “Just shut the door.”
Doing as requested of her, Natalya carefully shut the door. Another deep breath, and she was moving to take the empty seat across from the man. “Do you know me?” Then, after realizing that wording may not be clear, “What I mean to say is, do you know who I am in relation to yourself? My mother said she would speak to you...Wanda.”

Frowning at her words, she sat down on a nearby bench, shaking her head. “I can understand why it being so hectic and busy can be overwhelming, but Wanda wasn’t wrong, she believed in you enough to have faith that you could handle being here, it’s a great place once you actually get used to it, you’re nervous, that’s understandable, just take in a deep breath with me, okay?” She asks, taking in a slow, but deep breath before releasing it. “I’m here, Naomi and Erik are here as well, you have family that will help you if it’s needed.”
Taking the seat beside her, Natalya finally released her hold on Ariel. “Overwhelming does not even begin to describe what I am feeling. I’m not prepared for this sort of socialization.” Nonetheless, she breathed in unison with the other young woman, letting the calm wash over her as much as she could manage. “Ariel, I’ve never met our grandfather. Seen him, yes, but we’ve never spoken. And I would hardly claim to know Naomi. Truth be told, I hardly know any of you...” A truth she’d never forgive her father for.

As she roamed through the hallways on her free period, Ariel’s eyes scanned the area as kids did their best to find their next class if they had one, or were just filling up the blank spaces of the hallway. Before she could leave the area to go back outside, she felt someone grab her arm and she quickly turned around, shoulders relaxing at the younger girl. “Natalya, hey what’s wrong?” She questions, worry clear on her face as she gently moves them away from the crowd.
Natalya already felt a bit calmer in her cousin’s presence, allowing herself to be led somewhere quieter and a bit more secluded. “It’s too much,” she breathed out, trying desperately to keep her head. “My mother was wrong, I’m not ready for this. In Latveria I never dealt with so many people all at once. Certainly not like this at least.”

Pictures and brief glances through doorways. That was how she knew this man. Her grandfather. With so few people she was familiar with in the school, perhaps now was the time to properly meet him. Clearing her throat, and delivering a small pep talk to herself in her head, she approached him. “Excuse me? Might we speak, sir?”

he hated when they stared, he hated it even more when they made it obvious. lips drawn into a thin line, the super-solider did his best to hide the irritation the whispers and pointing caused him, finding himself once again wishing for the past to different. he was always able to make it through with her at his side, but since her passing he found it harder and harder to play nice in public. if it hadn’t been for his daughter and his family, bucky might not have left his home.
“do you mind? staring is rude and i know there might be a large generation gap here but rude is still rude, no matter the year.” the words snapped before he could help it, near instant regret flooding his chest but he’s said them and he can’t take it back.
She knew she’d been staring too long even before he’d called her out for it, but Natalya couldn’t seem to pull her eyes from the metal arm attached to him. Even as she spoke, her eyes kept flitting between the arm and his face. “I’m sorry, sir. I’ve just heard so many stories about you from my mother. I suppose, at least for myself, this is something akin to meeting someone out of a fairytale.”

Seph was sitting with a magazine of various clothes he was planing to shift to wear at some point. He was sipping an unseemly large cup of coffee, when he noticed someone approaching him with soft hum.
“Oh, hey there…..Uh, can I help you?”
The unfamiliar voice broke through Natalya’s concentration, causing her search to be placed on pause as she addressed the boy before her. “That would be lovely, thank you. I seem to have misplaced my book, and I was sitting right where you are now just a few short hours ago.”

Natalya wandered the labyrinthian hallways of her new school, gaze frantically sweeping over the crowd in search of any familiar face. Even with her six years of freedom, she’d barely ventured outside her mother’s home, and this was still all too foreign to her. She needed help, and she knew it. So when she finally spotted her cousin, she quickly darted through the sea of students, latching onto her arm with a grip that screamed panic.

There was something in the air. A certain darkness that the young woman had grown all too accustom to in her seventeen years of captivity. For just a moment, she feared it was her father, coming to drag her back to Latveria before she was ready to take him down. And yet, when she turned, she found only a young man who was a stranger to her. “Who are you?” she whispered, not really directing the question towards him, but more thinking aloud.

Finding herself lost yet again in the maze of a school, the Latverian born witch approached the first adult she could find. She could only hope this woman was a staff member, and would be able to help her. “Excuse me, m’am, but would you happen to know which way the library is? I’m dreadfully lost, and I feel I’ve been going in circles.”

“Perhaps we could discuss something else,” she suggested, clearly uncomfortable with the line of questioning being directed her way. “My father and childhood are a bit of a touchy subject, and I would prefer not to relive it.” When the other didn’t back down, Natalya made an attempt to escape.
