Damn you fine

I went back to my hometown yesterday and I was looking through some of the stuff I left at my parents house and I found this old Senior Superlative sash from high school. My classmates voted me Most Changed Since Freshman Year and it was not meant as a compliment. Still I wore that sash with pride because I chose to turn that negative into something positive, I had changed but I changed into someone who put her own happiness above what other people expected of her. I’m wearing it here because I am so proud of myself and how much I have grown and it’s a reminder to not let other people dictate my own perception of myself.
