Some images show the final moments of a group of Islamic State tankers who escaped in their armored vehicle from an ambush by the Syrian National Army and Hezbollah soldiers.

In the video, filmed in September by a GoPro camera carried by one of the jihadists, five militants can be seen in their last desperate attempt to avoid death. Among screams one of the terrorists tries to indicate to his companions where the shots come from, and when they understand that they are completely cornered, he asks for reinforcements on a radio.

However, all attempts to save their lives were in vain and in a few seconds an anti-tank missile hit the armored vehicle, killing all its occupants.

Fritz Christen (Wredenlagen, Mecklenburg June 29, 1921 - Neusorg, Bavaria September 23, 1995). He was a decorated German soldier of the Totenkopf belonging to the 3rd Division of the Waffen-SS that fought in World War II. In the framework of the German invasion of the Soviet Union the anti-tank battery to which Fritz belonged was surprised by the Soviet army, which annihilated without reservation all its unit, except Christen. During the next 3 days, the soldier would face constant enemy attacks without help. By the end of the operation, Christen had annihilated 13 tanks and killed more than 100 Russians.

Given his courage and to the bewilderment of his countrymen the SS-Obergruppenführer Theodor Eicke granted Fritz the Iron Cross of First Class in addition to recommending him for the Knight's Cross that Hitler himself would later grant him.
