How to Avoid the Biggest Wedding Budget Blunders
The wedding industry continues to be big business. Reports show that pre-pandemic, the sector market value was at $3 billion in the US and $72 billion globally (and the sector is expected to easily reach this value again in the near future). In 2017, the average cost of a wedding per household was $33,391, which is more than half of the median annual household income. This is caused by the string of expenses you acquire when having such a big event like a wedding. It is important to have a budget so you won’t end up spending more than you intended to, and here are some ways you can avoid making any mishaps and blunders when it comes to your wedding:
Outline your expenses
Before you start planning, it is important to set how much you are willing to spend. Outlining expenses is a way to set a budget per item. The price of certain things may change per state and location but looking at the average costs will help you have an idea of how much you should allocate. A Florida wedding may cost you $30,600, while a Pennsylvania wedding can be around $35,900. You’ll also have to factor in the price of a dress, tux, photographer, and much more. With so many other expenses when it comes to planning and the day itself, it is important to outline them to help you create and stick to your budget.
Choose the right vendors
It is important to choose vendors that you know will give quality service. This includes the transportation, venues, catering, and the musicians. If you’re looking into hiring a live band, make sure to ask them the right questions to ensure that you are getting the service you deserve. If you want other musicians for a different atmosphere, you can choose a DJ for something more upbeat or a string ensemble for something more refined. Remember that your vendors can make or break your wedding, so choose ones that you like but still fit your budget.
Get some guidance from a professional
Wedding planning can be difficult because there are so many things to think about. Many people find it overwhelming, so seeking out a budgeting professional will help. A financial advisor will teach you the right ways to budget your expenses and how to manage your money before and after your big day. Thankfully finding an expert is very easy. Online financial services programs have led to a rise in the number of professionals available, as more students have been able to access the education they need to become personal financial advisers. These financial planners can work with you through digital mediums, and will be able to give you a complete overview of how to budget for your big day. Another person you can turn to is a wedding planner, if you don’t already have one. They have connections with different people in the industry and may even help you get services at a discounted price.
Be ready for miscellaneous expenses
What people often forget to add to their budget are the hidden expenses. This can rack up quite a bit and you’ll end up paying out of pocket if you don’t include it in your expense outline. Some examples of these are name change fees, staffing costs, overtime expenses, and meals for your vendors. If you have been careful making sure every cent is spent wisely, discovering overlooked expenses is never a great situation to have. To avoid this budgeting blunder, always have an extra amount of money set aside just for unforeseen circumstances. If you don’t end up using it, you can always put it to use somewhere else, like your honeymoon. You’ll be thankful to have the excess in the future if the time arises when you have to use it.
With a wide array of factors to consider when planning a wedding, it is best to keep things as organized and well thought out as possible. Use these tips to help prevent you from breaking your budget and making any expensive mistakes.

How to plan a Florida Beach Destination Wedding for 2020
2020 is the start of a new decade and an excellent year to marry your soulmate in. If you want somewhere sunny, warm and filled with palm trees, consider a Florida beach destination wedding. Destination weddings are fun and exciting for the bride, groom, and guests. Florida is a fabulous destination for a wedding and we are going to explain how to have the most beautiful Florida beach destination wedding.
How much is a Destination Beach Wedding in Florida?
A destination beach wedding can cost anything from $1,000 to $10,000. There are many different variables that can fluctuate the cost of a wedding. Some of the heaviest weighing variables are the number of attendees. The more guests that are invited to the wedding means more meals to purchase. Another huge variable is whether to have an open bar or cash bar. With a cash bar, the guests are responsible for paying for their own drinks. Lastly, the decision to have a band or DJ can change the price. A DJ is usually less expensive and easier but a band is more entertaining.
Where is the Best Place to get Married in Florida?
There are numerous beautiful places for the perfect Florida beach destination wedding but Naples is the best. Naples is located on Florida’s Southwest Coast so it is very easy to catch a beautiful beach sunset in Naples. Naples’ beaches feature white sand and calm turquoise blue water. The city has plenty for wedding guests to do, specifically golf and shopping.
What is the Best Beach to Get Married on in Florida?
Marco Island is another favorite beach to marry your soulmate on in Florida. Marco Island is a barrier island a short distance south of Naples. Marco Island is the quintessential wedding destination. There is no shortage of wedding venues or beautiful views. The weather in this Florida beach destination is almost always beautiful and sunny, with breathtaking sunsets all year round. Guests can fly into Southwest Florida International Airport located in Fort Myers, less than 50 miles from Marco Island.
Do you Pay for Guests at a Destination Wedding?
It is up to the Bride and Groom if they want to pay for some or all of their guests’ destination wedding expenses. In most destination weddings, the Bride and Groom do not pay for their guests’ flights, accommodation or additional expenses. Since the additional expenses are not paid for, wedding invitations are usually sent out much farther in advance compared to a non-destination wedding. Sending the invites in advance gives guests the opportunity to plan and sometimes save money to attend the wedding. It is recommended to send save-the-dates approximately one year in advance, followed by formal invitations 3 months prior to the wedding. The Bride and Groom will normally reserve a hotel room block for guests. In some cases, they can acquire a room discount based on the number of guests staying at the hotel.
How do you Plan an All-Inclusive Destination Wedding?
It can be very rewarding and fun to plan an all-inclusive destination wedding. First, pick a warm destination and an exciting resort. Next, reach out to the resort and learn about the all-inclusive wedding packages they offer. Once you pick a package, your wedding planner will take care of almost everything. It is important to send out detailed wedding invitations regarding how to reserve rooms. Once you arrive at the venue, you will need to have a tasting menu and finalize any last-minute details. Once the big day arrives, you can enjoy your day with all your loved ones.
How do you choose a Band for a Destination Wedding?
The band is the main entertainment for a wedding so it is very important to choose a lively and sensational band. When choosing a band, make sure they are experienced and they have performed at weddings before. You should definitely make an effort to see and listen to the band live before you choose them to perform at your wedding. Inquire if they are performing at any public events, such as a charity event or festival. Additionally, make sure you trust them and they understand the music and experience you expect them to deliver.
Why choose CTO for your Naples Florida Destination Wedding?

CTO will work with you to have the most amazing Florida beach destination wedding. In Naples, CTO is regarded as one of the most entertaining wedding bands. 15 Things for an Unforgettable Wedding Day in 2020
2020 is a wonderful year to have an unforgettable wedding day. There are many popular wedding trends that have been created with the new decade. From picking a date to choosing wedding music entertainment, this article is going to outline the 15 most popular 2020 wedding trends for an unforgettable wedding day.
1. Beautiful Engagement Ring:
The kickstart to any unforgettable wedding day is a beautiful engagement ring. One trend that is coming back into style is yellow gold. Yellow gold used to be very popular and has been recently making a comeback. Another awesome trend is unique engagement rings and wedding bands. Make your friends and family turn heads when you choose a non-traditional, standout ring set.
2. Unique Dates to have your unforgettable Wedding day:
2020 is an awesome year to get married because there are quite a few special dates that fall on Saturdays in 2020. Some of the dates include:
Saturday 5/10/2020 Saturday 6/6/2020 Saturday 7/4/2020 Saturday 7/11/2020 Saturday 8/8/2020 Saturday 10/10/2020 Saturday 12/12/2020
3. Choose a Creative Theme:
A great way to have your guests forever remembering your wedding is by designing it with an elegant theme in mind. There are many different wedding themes that go along with the season. For example, you can have an elegant carnival theme if your wedding is in the summer. Have a cute popcorn machine, cotton candy, and large balloons. Some more unforgettable themes are desert chic, vintage Hollywood, and romantic garden. Having a set theme helps to plan the entire wedding, from invitations to dinner menus.
4. Consider a Destination Wedding:
Destination Weddings are becoming more popular in 2020 and there is nothing more unforgettable than a destination wedding. There are many different options for destination weddings. Before choosing a destination, decide if you want to have your wedding somewhere warm or cold. Next, decide if you want the wedding to be domestic or international. After those two factors are decided, it will be easier to choose a destination. With a destination wedding, there are some huge differences, such as save-the-dates and invitations need to be sent out much earlier than a traditional wedding. Also, your honeymoon is usually a part of your wedding and there is no additional travel required.
5. Pick a Fun Dessert instead of Cake:
If a wedding cake isn’t your favorite dessert, or you just want to be different, pick a wedding cake alternative. There are so many delicious options for smushing in your spouse’s face after you say “I-do.” Elegant pies, giant donuts or cute cupcakes are some popular options. Additionally, you can wow your guests’ with a dessert bar. Anything from s’mores to ice cream will keep your guests happy and entertained.
6. Pick your Dream Flowers:
Flowers are one of the most important details in any wedding. From the groom’s boutonniere to the table centerpieces, it is important to choose flowers that compliment your wedding theme. A wonderful 2020 trend is choosing locally grown flowers. It is important to support local businesses and your flowers will be more original. They will sometimes be less expensive. Couples are also selecting more rustic and natural flower schemes. Natural tones and colors complement many popular bridesmaid dress colors.
7. Choose an Inclusive Wedding Party:
A wonderful trend in 2020 is blended wedding parties. Traditional wedding parties with only women in the bridal party and only men in the groom party are changing. It is more popular to have whoever you want in your wedding party, regardless of gender. It is wonderful to have the support of your closest friends and family standing next to you while you marry your soulmate.
8. Have Creative Bridesmaid Dresses:
Bridesmaid dresses can be fun and creative. To have an unforgettable wedding day, let your bridesmaids pick their own dress. You pick the color and/or length and let them pick the rest. This lets each bridesmaid pick a dress they like and fits their body right. Additionally, this non-traditional trend creates beautiful, unique pictures. In bigger wedding parties, the bride can also choose a multiple shade color scheme which also yields gorgeous, blended photographs.
9. Pick a Wedding Dress that makes you the Center of Attention:
A bride’s wedding dress is the most important decision regarding wedding planning. Make sure you pick a dress you love. Remember, you will have to look at these pictures for the rest of your life so if you don’t adore the dress, don’t buy it. If you want a statement dress, look into dresses with low backs. These designs are sexy yet elegant. If you want something unique, consider a faint blush-toned dress. This trend has been popular throughout history and helps create an unforgettable wedding day.
10. Select the Perfect Tux:
There are many different dimensions and details to a wedding tuxedo. If you aren’t familiar with tuxedos, go to a tuxedo store and discover what you do and don’t like. If you want to be more casual, some men wear sacks and a nice shirt with a suit jacket. There are many options but it is important to pick a tuxedo or outfit that matches the bride.
11. Create Unexpected Moments:
Excite your guests by doing your wedding differently. A great way to create an unforgettable wedding day is by having a choreographed first dance. Your first dance can include just the happy couple or the entire bridal party. This is a great way to entertain guests and have them dancing. You can also plan a fun surprise for after the reception. Shock your guests with fireworks and a food truck. They will be hungry from all the crazy dancing.
12. Do it for the Insta Moments:
Capture all the best Instagram moments with a creative hashtag. Your hashtag should combine both spouse’s names or something that describes your relationship. When guests use your hashtag on Instagram or Twitter, all your wedding pictures will be viewable in the same place. You can always go back and look at the pictures and memories.
13. Dance to the Perfect Playlist:
Music is a very important part of any wedding reception. Once dinner is over, there is nothing left to do but dance and celebrate. Choosing wedding music can be a difficult task because it is hard to please all of your guests. Pick a playlist that makes you happy because it is your special day. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to please every guest so pick songs that you and your spouse will enjoy. When you pick the song you will dance to during your first dance, pick something that is timeless. Pick a song that you will hear in 30 years and will still make you smile.
14. Band or DJ:
One of the most important questions, do we have a band or a DJ? Bands give more of an experience to guests. Live instruments and vocals create the best party atmosphere. Make sure when choosing a wedding band, you trust the band and they can deliver the music you desire. DJ’s are another great option because they are more compact and can deliver exactly what you request. Professional DJ’s know how to start the party and keep it going.
15. Hire CTO Music for your Wedding Music:
CTO Music Artists provide world class talent. Their professional DJ’s and bands will be the most entertaining and energetic part of your wedding. CTO has a variety of different entertainment options including wedding bands, DJ’s, strings and musicians. Everything Your Florida Wedding Band Wants You to Know
To ensure you have the kind of entertainment you’ve dreamt of on your big day, it’s helpful to be on the same page with your Florida wedding band. Keep reading for some tips on how to most effectively communicate with our Florida wedding band, CTO High Voltage.
How to Work with a Florida Wedding Band to Customize Your Reception?
It’s best to think ahead about the theme of your wedding or general feeling you want to convey before you book your Florida wedding band. Most wedding bands or DJs have a repertoire of songs that they offer, and you should explore the catalogue of songs available before booking. Once you do book a Florida wedding band, make sure you communicate with the band about the target theme so that the music can match the theme or at the very least, not clash. You don’t want a music set that does not fit the mood of the event.
How to Decide on a Song List with Your Wedding Band Cover?
First, talk to your Florida wedding band about what genres they are willing to cover. Gather inspiration from Spotify or recent movies. Once you have an idea of what type of songs you want to be played on your special day, start selecting specific songs by starting with the big ones you know you’ll need like the first dance. Work with the band to fill in the rest of the reception with a mixture of songs.
Choosing Songs for Different Parts of the Reception
There are a couple of songs that people will remember from your wedding and that should be carefully chosen. First is the reception entrance song. Choose a song that reflects the atmosphere of the event and invites people to get excited about the rest of the evening. Next is the First Dance song. This song is the debut for you, the happy couple, so choose a song that reflects your personalities and your special relationship! Other important songs include the Father/Daughter dance and the Mother/Son dance. These songs are usually slow but can also be more upbeat and are always sweet and sentimental. Send your guests a signal that it’s time to get the party started with a party-starter song! Last, choose a song for the exit that will end your wedding on a positive note.
Find the Best Way to Communicate with Your Wedding Band
First and foremost, you should ask the potential Florida wedding band questions. Are they available for your wedding date? What’s their experience? Can you contact other couples for references? Ask what kind of music they specialize in, how big and what their music library contains, what their entertainment style is like etc. Do they take breaks? What is their rate? Do they include setting up and breaking down in their rate? What do they charge for overtime? What’s the cancellation policy? What do you need to provide versus what will they provide when it comes to equipment? What size stage do they need? When will you meet to discuss song requests? As always, it’s best to have an initial meeting in person, but subsequent collaboration should be done via whatever communication platform is most convenient for both of you. Email is a great way to keep a written record of what has been agreed upon.
Things to Tell Your Wedding Band
Besides the most obvious thing you need to tell your wedding band (what to play and for how long) you will need to keep your Florida wedding band in the loop on other details of the wedding to make sure they are fully integrated. For instance, if there is a theme to your wedding, make sure the band knows so that they wear the correct attire. Let your wedding band know exactly how to announce names by providing phonetic spellings. Lastly, consider informing your Florida wedding band of any bad blood or sensitive family matters so they can use discretion or care when making announcements.
Should You Feed Your Wedding Band?
It is the polite thing to do to feed your Florida wedding band. Just like the photographer videographer or wedding planner, if your wedding band is working during the reception etiquette strongly suggests you provide them with food. Whether you choose to do this or not, make sure you agree upon it ahead of time with your Florida wedding band and include it in the contract you sign before booking.
Should You Tip, and When Should You Tip Your Wedding Band?
Although not required, it is suggested you tip your wedding band, especially if they’ve made custom changes to the setlist and have accommodated requests. According to The Knot, it’s customary to tip your Florida wedding band $25-$35 per band member.

Important Questions to Ask Your Philadelphia Wedding Band
Are you getting married and in the midst of planning a wedding in the Philadelphia area? You must know by now how important the music choice is for the reception. Don’t hire a Philadelphia wedding band without being clear on expectations! The best way to ensure you will have the wedding reception run smoothly is to communicate with band members, so you know exactly what to expect and you’re getting the Philadelphia wedding band you really want. If you’re ready to hire a Philadelphia wedding band for your big day, keep reading to get an idea of the kind of questions you need to ask.
How long has the band been together, playing professionally?
There is usually a difference in price between casual diggers and professional bands, but make sure to explicitly ask how long the band has been playing together and how long they’ve been playing professionally as artists. You don’t want amateurs showing up on your special day. Philadelphia wedding bands with lengthy professional experience can ensure your big event runs smoothly, and everyone at the reception feels represented by the music in some way.
Do all band members live in the Philadelphia area?
This question can be important to ask for logistical reasons. If the members of your wedding band are local, you have a better chance of getting to meet them in person to ask your questions. Additionally, if the band members are local, you have to worry less about them showing up on time to set up and play on the big day. A local band can also be an advantage to your budget because you will not need to worry about band member’s travel expenses.
How many songs does a wedding band typically play?
How many songs you want your Philadelphia wedding band to play depends on the length of your reception. Consult with the potential band by asking how long their typical setlist is, how many breaks they take and if songs are played in breaks, and how many go-to songs they have versus how many songs you should request. You can ask how many songs in each genre (aka party starters versus slow dances) they will play. Most Philadelphia wedding bands will let you request songs and customize the setlist so that it works within a certain timeframe.
Does the band play during the reception only?
Are you expecting the band to play for just the reception, or are you hoping to book a Philadelphia wedding band for the ceremony as well? Often weddings will incorporate a processional and recessional song at the ceremony. It’s important to ask your potential Philadelphia wedding band if they have experience with this or if they are willing to play at your ceremony or after-party in addition to your reception.
What questions should you ask a Philadelphia wedding band?
There are many more questions you can and should ask your potential Philadelphia wedding band. Specifically, there is an extensive list of questions you should ask about pricing, song choice, equipment, and other logistics in order to be fully prepared. The more you ask, the more prepared you will be on the big day and the less you have to worry about any mishaps. Take a look at here for more ideas of what you should ask your Philadelphia wedding band.

How Much Does a Wedding Band Cost in Florida?
Have you ever been to a wedding reception without music? I doubt you have, but you’ve probably been to a wedding where the music selection was poor or boring. So, you must know how important the choice of music is for your wedding. The music sets the tone for the whole reception. You want your wedding reception to be a celebration of the love you feel that day. That’s why you should take the time to consider a wedding band for the occasion. Hiring a wedding band can add a level of a personal spin on the entertainment but also can add to the price. Generally, live wedding bands are more expensive than DJs, but what exactly does a wedding band cost and what are you actually paying for? Do wedding bands bring their own equipment? How long do they play for? Keep reading to get some answers about wedding band costs in Florida.
How much does a band cost for a wedding?
According to weddingwire.com, a wedding band can cost between $600 and $10,000. This is a large range, but this reflects the huge variety of wedding bands that are available to book. Lower cost bands are smaller with fewer members and usually are more casual, playing at bars on weekends and coffee shops on weekdays. The median cost of a band is about $4,000. These bands are usually full-time professionals. They may pay for promotional materials, have a website or social media page, and own their own equipment. Bands that cost more have a greater number of band members or could even be full orchestras! Either way, they are serious professionals. They play exclusively at weddings or galas, have their own equipment and insurance, and have an extensive resume. So, like any other product, you get what you pay for. The wide range of prices means you can choose the quality and type of entertainment that fits your budget.
What should a wedding band cover (lights, speakers, etc)?
All wedding bands will show up with their own instruments and microphones. The equipment that a wedding band is responsible for bringing depends on how much you spend. Usually, wedding bands that charge less require you to provide things like lights and speakers. The exact equipment that wedding bands cover will vary from band to band so you need to confirm what equipment they need before booking.
How long should a wedding band play for?
Florida wedding band cost will depend on not only the size and professionalism of the band but also how long you want them to play. Usually, wedding bands are booked for about 4 hours after the reception. If you would like them to play longer or play during cocktail hour, it will cost extra. Of course, these times should be agreed upon with the band before booking and will vary from band to band. Don’t forget that the wedding band cost will include time for the band to take breaks as well. The number and length of breaks will be agreed to before booking. Usually, wedding bands will have one member stay behind and play while others take a break so there isn’t complete silence.
How much do cover bands get paid?
Cover bands get paid different amounts for different types of gigs. For a night at the local bar, a cover band can expect to take home $300 to $500 dollars per gig, according to musicians interviewed for vice.com. However, the wedding band circuit can be more profitable. Most wedding bands are cover bands because people are more likely to get out on the dance floor with songs they recognize and enjoy. Therefore, the average wedding band cost in Florida is about the same as the average cover bands get paid or around $4,000 for a small group, and for a more full sound with many band members who can provide a wide range of music, you’ll pay several thousand more.

How to Engage Your Wedding Guests?
Your wedding is going to be one of the most special and memorable days of your life because it’s the day you make a public commitment to your best friend and partner. However, your wedding may not be the highlight of your guests’ year. In many cases, weddings can be stressful for guests due to travel requirements or financial sacrifices they have made to be there. There is no better way to show your friends and family your gratitude for coming to support you on your special day than to have an engaging and fun wedding reception. Your wedding reception should be an event to celebrate the love of both you and your fiancé but also the love of families coming together and friends gathering from far and wide. A great celebration involves all the guests, encourages mingling, has lively music and great food, and is not boring. Keep reading for some tips on how to engage wedding guests and make your wedding a party they will never forget!
How do I make my wedding not boring?
Introduce at the rehearsal:
Weddings can get a little awkward when large numbers of people gather who have never met before. A good way to engage wedding guests before the reception is to introduce them beforehand at a rehearsal dinner. If family and friends are introduced to each other before the actual wedding, they can get the awkward small talk out of the way which means they can have more fun at the reception.
Bend traditions:
Are you thinking of participating in the wedding traditions of your culture? Are you participating in them because you want to or because you feel an obligation to? If you aren’t passionate about keeping tradition, consider thinking outside the box and mix things up a little. Traditions like speeches can be transformed by adding video. Cutting the cake can be eliminated entirely and instead you can offer your guests an alternative dessert like cake pops! Consider restructuring the whole wedding dinner. You can have a fun wedding reception by eliminating the sit-down, assigned seating dinner. Invite guests to eat when they want and sit where they want. This creates a lively, open atmosphere and encourages mingling.
Arrange transportation:
You can engage wedding guests and encourage them to let loose and have fun by arranging transportation from your reception to their hotel room. Wedding receptions are usually socially lubricated by bars. Guests can’t really take advantage of the bar however if they are worried about driving home later. Think about booking a shuttle service to blocked hotel rooms so our guests can have a drink or two without worrying.
Bring in entertainment:
You don’t have to rely on dancing to be the main source of entertainment for the whole night. The music is, of course, an extremely important choice when creating a fun wedding reception, but not all guests will enjoy dancing. There are many options for entertainment that you have not considered such as photo booths, dancers, etc. The possibilities are really endless.
Have plenty of food:
Nobody can have fun at your wedding if they are hungry. You can facilitate the fun at your wedding reception by keeping everyone fed. Supply hors d’oeuvres before the meal is served and consider serving snacks later after everyone has been drinking and dancing.
How do you keep wedding guests entertained during pictures?
There are many ways you can engage wedding guests while you have pictures taken of the wedding party. Some forms of entertainment are simple and inexpensive, and others are more extravagant and pricey. Guests can be entertained with activities or with hired professionals. Examples of some activities include a scavenger hunt or bingo game, lawn games like croquet, food bars, and photo booths. You can create a craft station where guests are welcome to write well wishes or words of advice or make a video or photo slideshow of the bride and groom. Hiring professionals to help pass the time can be very fun as well. A special wedding band, singer, or dancer can get people excited to hit the dance floor. Some unique ideas for entertainment include hiring a mixologist to make specialty drinks and teach guests how to make drinks and hiring an artist to do caricatures. Most importantly, make sure that the cocktail hour has plenty of things to eat, drink, and places to sit or lounge. Guests will be perfectly satisfied to mingle and relax while you get your photos taken for an hour. If you anticipate spending more than an hour on photos, consider other forms of entertainment.
How do you entertain wedding guests between the ceremony & reception?
The most common way to entertain guests in between ceremony and reception is a cocktail hour. Mentioned above are plenty of entertainment ideas for a cocktail hour. However, if you do not want to hold a cocktail hour or have come across logistical issues that prevent you from holding a cocktail hour, there are alternatives. If children are allowed at the wedding, give suggestions for places parents can take kids to play and burn off some steam. If there is shopping nearby you can direct, your guests to the shops to spend some time. Generally, a cocktail hour is the most popular way to entertain guests between the ceremony and reception when you will be taking photos.

How to Create The Perfect Wedding Song Playlist?
Music is an integral piece of the wedding. It gives the guests a glimpse of who the bride and groom really are by adding a personalized touch to the soundtrack of the night. Not only that, but it sets the tone. Whether it be all night rager, or a dignified and refined reception, the wedding song playlist should be chosen carefully. Keep reading to gain some tips and tricks on making the perfect wedding song set.
How many songs do I need for a 6 hour wedding?
Since the average song is around 3 minutes, it is recommended that you add twenty songs to your playlist for every hour of the event. For a 6 hour wedding that means you would need to add 120 wedding songs.
What are the most popular wedding songs?
According to Spotify, the top 10 most popular wedding songs are:
“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran
“Marry You” by Bruno Mars
“Perfect” by Ed Sheeran
“I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston
“All of Me” by John Legend
“Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars
“My Girl” by The Temptations
“A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri
“Marry Me” by Train
“You Make My Dreams” by Daryl Hall & John Oates
However, bridal websites name the following as the top ten wedding songs:
Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars, “Uptown Funk”
Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off”
Walk the Moon, “Shut Up and Dance”
Justin Timberlake, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”
Whitney Houston, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”
Earth, Wind & Fire, “September”
Usher feat. Lil Jon & Ludacris, “Yeah”
Journey, “Don’t Stop Believin'”
Michael Jackson, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”
The Isley Brothers, “Shout – Part 1″
How often should you play a slow song at a wedding?
People like to dance for about half an hour before needing a break. It’s not a good idea to abruptly play a slow song in between fast paced songs. Instead, play a slow song every 30-40 minutes and follow up the slow song with a build up in tempo for another 30-40 minutes.
What songs do you not play at a wedding?
Some songs are overly played, cliche, cringy, and people generally don’t want to hear them…again. The Huffington Post names the following ten songs to add to the do not play list:
“The Chicken Dance” by The Tweets
“YMCA” by Village People
“Electric Boogie” by Marcia Griffiths (a.k.a. “Electric Slide”)
″Macarena” by Los Del Rio
″Cotton-Eye Joe” by Rednex
“Cupid Shuffle” by Cupid
“I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas
″Cha Cha Slide” by DJ Casper
“Single Ladies” by Beyoncé
″Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Other songs are added to bridal “do not play” lists because their lyrics feature taboo relationship topics like stalking, break-ups, demeaning lyrics for women, or are generally depressing. The top ten topical “do not play” weddings songs are:
“Every Breath You Take,” by the Police. …
“I Will Always Love You,” by Whitney Houston (or Dolly Parton) …
“Make You Feel My Love,” by Adele. …
“The Scientist,” by Coldplay. …
“My Heart Will Go On,” by Celine Dion. …
“The Sweetest Thing,” by U2. …
“I Will Survive,” by Gloria Gaynor. …
“White Wedding,” by Billy Idol.
“Tainted Love,” by Soft Cell
“If You Wanna Be Happy,” by Jimmy Soul
What are good wedding dance songs?
The best wedding dance songs are different for people of different generations and with different music genre tastes. Therefore, it’s a good idea to vary the age of the songs and include hip-hop, pop, funk, indie, and electronic tunes. These songs can be extremely popular, or just have uplifting beats and positive lyrics. Most songs that get people moving are songs that bring back great memories, so even if a song isn’t well known, add it to your list if you and your guests have a shared experience that makes the song special. Some of the best wedding dance songs of all time include:
“Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran
“Hey Ya!” by Outkast
“I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas
“Yeah!” by Usher
“Electric Boogie” by Marcia Griffiths

“We Found Love” by Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris
“Low” by Flo Rida
“Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot

CTO Tribeca at the Avalon Yacht Club 11/16/19
Saturday, November 16th was one of the best nights we spent at Avalon Yacht Club for Elizabeth & Roberts wedding! We started the night with a wonderful group shot done by the amazing STEPHANIE YOUNG at Salt Water Studios photography. We had such a great time with all the guests. So much so that the singers were pulled to dance with them on the dance floor. It was such a pleasure working with Brian and Jarrod at Avalon. They were so accommodating and on top of their timeline. It was also an honor to know Jarrod, wanted to add us to their preferred vendor list! Thank you Jarrod. We are beyond thrilled and look forward to being there again!!

CTO Grand Central at Terrain Gardens 11/16/19
Kylie and Michael were always going to have a unique wedding. They chose their band after seeing Bright sing with his alternative rock band, After All – and if the leather and eyeliner didn’t scare them, nothing would.
This couple was so kind and warm and low-key that it didn’t feel like work. Terrain is a stunning venue, they chose the most beautiful classic songs, and the entire thing was elegant and simple.
Of course, it was interesting getting U2 requests after finding out that Kylie’s father worked as their tour manager for years, but Bright rose to the challenge. We kept that dance floor full and those guests laughing and smiling, and a wonderful, unforgettable time was had by all. CTO Grand Central always delivers!

CTO Park Central at The Windrift 11/16/19
CTO Park Central performed at the The Windrift in Avalon, NJ for the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Joy and Jason Chomenko. The Windrift sits right on the ocean. It was arrayed like something out of the movie the Great Gaspy. Dramatic white feathers decorated the center pieces along with a black and gold color theme. A real live painter painted on a canvass a beautiful picture capturing the atmosphere.
Their first dance was “In Case you Didn’t Know” by Brett Young and was followed by a dance set that ended with the Fly Eagles Fly theme song. Brian Saunders on sax wore his official Super Bowl ring since he wrote the song and also leads the Eagles pep band.
The Bride and Groom opened up with a welcome toast. The Mother/ Son dance was “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder. The bride and her father joined in halfway thru. Immediately afterwards a special request of “Forever Young“ by Rod Stewart was played as other family members joined in: Darin (Groom’s brother danced with their mom. Brides son danced with her mom and her daughter danced with her dad. Nick Casbar (a family friend) played drums to the song Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen. The crowd went crazy since many were fans of Bruce and Nick Casbar.
The party continued led by CTO Park Central, featuring fabulous front line of Gloria Allende, Shaun ChrisJohn and Stephanie Bucholski.
CTO Park Central was honored to be a part of this wonderful celebration with the following vendors:
Kaleidoscope Weddings
Cornerstone Wedding Films
Windrift Hotel

Make Your 2020 Wedding Reception Unforgettable with a Professional Live Band
Want to make your 2020 wedding unforgettable? We’ve made a list to ensure that your wedding is the most fun, most memorable wedding reception your guests will ever attend – and we do this every weekend, so you can trust us!
Your wedding should be an unforgettable day for you and your guests. The best memories involve the senses; sight, smell, taste, sound and touch. With the right band, the wedding procession, the reception and even the “after” party can capture the moments in sensual lasting memories. Your passion, happiness and love will shine through during a well-choreographed reception, and your guests will discuss every detail the morning after, and bring it up during every subsequent wedding they attend. These type of bands, the consummate professionals, make memories. Song lyrics express this sentiment; a professional band makes you want to Shout. They’ll have you Dancing in the dark and you’ll remember you Danced the night away!
A professional wedding band will orchestrate your reception, working closely with your other vendors, they will keep the event flowing, make sure people are having a good time, get them up on the dance floor, and bring those “memory moments” like announcement of the newly weds, speeches, spontaneous affection, special dances, cake cutting and more to fruition. How you choose the right band for your affair is more about experience, professionalism, a diversified playlist and full, tight sound than about the logistics and cost.
Is Your Wedding Band Diversified?
You’ll need a band that can cater to ALL your guests. Generations of relatives will be gathered together, requesting with your band bring home Sinatra and Santana back to back. Can they handle it? Wedding bands are unique in that they need to perform in a number of different styles and genres. It’s one thing to know the songs, but a professional band will make sure they feel “in the zone” no matter what genre they are playing.
Is your Wedding Band Engaging?
A professional band is engaged in what they’re doing. You’ll know it when you see them perform. Do they look happy? They will pass their energy onto your guests. Think about your guests and the type of band they would most appreciate. Just because you heard a local band play a sold set at your local pub, does not necessarily translate to the band you want to run your wedding reception. Perhaps your guests make for an eclectic crowd. Does the band do any culturally influenced pieces? These factors are key before you can now pronounce them “reception and band”.
Have you Seen the Wedding Band Perform?
Have you heard them play?
If you Heard it through the grapevine (maybe a friend of a friend referred a band) it might not be enough. Tastes can differ from person to person and it’s you that needs to feel comfortable with your band choice. Music is a personal choice that’s More than a feeling. You will know when the right band strikes a chord with your emotions. Most professional bands offer showcases where you can hear them play. Here they will run through a montage of song excerpts that give you a solid indication of their style, look and feel.
Add a Twist to Make your 2020 Wedding Reception Unforgettable
Most wedding trends seem to evolve over the years, and old “trends” never really disappear. As new ideas build, the options for your big day continue to grow, and you have more and more ways to personalize your event. Here are a few trends we see beginning to take root in 2020 receptions.
A new twist for a wedding reception is to add games, all kinds of games. If the reception is out doors, the games can include Corn hole, giant Jenga, Croquette, Bocce ball, and the like. You may also opt for personalized Mad Libs around a wedding theme, wedding inspired Crossword or Word search, Trivia, Poker and Darts. But if your band gets involved people will be on the dance floor, having fun all on their own and playing games like the Chicken Dance, Dollar Dance and Horah.
Another new trend is to have one last “bride and groom only” dance as guests take time to get ready for your grand exit – which could include something like guests throwing confetti or lighting sparklers as you exit while dancing. You may or may not want to consider a choreographed dance to your favorite song that will leave your guests smiling.
Some pet-friendly couples want to include an ode to their furry friend during the reception, or highlight something very personal to the couple with a party favor or photo montage.
Another trend is to steal a few private moments between the bride and groom where they can share a very private and personal hand-written vow without the entire room as witness. Scheduling this moment beforehand is a must, as your wedding band is like a well-oiled machine, and will be looking for you if you steal away without their knowledge.
How Can I Make My Wedding Stand Out?
As wedding receptions become less and less traditional and more and more personal, the sky is the limit – as long as it is in your budget. You can really make a statement with your:
Wedding cake
Wedding theme
Wedding dance
Flowers and decor
And of course your Wedding Band
What Are The Wedding Colors for 2020?
Who cares what everyone else is doing? Your wedding should be all about what you like. Be a trend-setter! Choose your favorite colors and Own them! But your colors should probably go together so we found this link to help you out.
How Can I Surprise my Partner on Our Wedding?
There are loads of gift ideas for pleasantly surprising your partner on your wedding day. Here are a few we see a lot:
Get your rings engraved privately with a personal message.
Plan that private moment where we suggested you share some private, surprise vows.
Surprise your groom with his own cake.
Book the band you both REALLY want!
Invite someone special that he didn’t think would make it, and help them get to the reception.
How To Make Sure Guests Have Fun at Your Wedding Reception?
Anyone that has ever thrown a successful party knows it needs to be organized. That’s where a professional bandleader really helps. Bands know how to keep the party moving, they take their cues from you and your partner, but they also know the timing for all the mini events and they lead up to each one with a crescendo of music. They will get your guests up and dancing as soon as possible, and they will provide some moments of unexpected entertainment. As long as you have enough food and a comfortable space, your band will ensure your guests have one of the best nights they remember.
What can CTO Music Artists Do to Make Your Wedding Reception Unforgettable?
If you want help with selection, CTO’s music consultants will help you choose the band for your special day. You’ll discuss the type of experience you want and receive a variety of recommendations. Experienced bands have performed weddings for many types of groups, themes and ceremonies and can handle all types of songs and events. You may want to have a different band or DJ for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The right consultant can help step you through what’s best for you.
One sure sign that your wedding reception will be memorable in 2020 is that your guests won’t want the music to stop. That’s the sign of a great party, a great band, a great reception.
