Journal 10
It's the campaign season and everyone is so busy with the coming election. As we continue with the 10th week, students were being excused to vote for who they think would fit in the position. In this week's session, it's the submission and discussion of Case 5 and also our Good News Monday report.
We have submitted our Case 5 about Jp Morgan and we got the score of 38 out of 50. Not that bad but not that good also. In the case 5 discussion, our classmates has discussed the issues related to the Jp Morgan ethical issues and the alternative courses of actions. Jp Morgan Company held hearings because of the $6.2 billion trading debacle. The chief investment office hid underperforming derivatives, routinely exceed bank mandated risk limits and also manipulated the valuation of unprofitable investments to minimize losses. In this lesson, our group have decided to come up with the decision of putting the blame on JP Morgan's chief investment office and mandate case whether to see which high ranking individuals were involved. We realized that in business, no matter how high your position is, you do not have the right to do unethical issues. And as an employee, you should know your responsibilities and values. through proper discipline, the company now portray that it does not condone such unethical actions. Moreover, planning and implementation of rules and regulations to counter unethical actions are very important to business because this will show employees what is acceptable and unacceptable in the workplace.
Next is our Good News Monday which is about the Aboitiz Company and its relation with the Corporate Social Responsibility. In here, we learned that the also, in business, helping is caring. Aboitiz Company are committed in sharing with the less fortunate and has come from centuries to centuries. Sharing has been instilled and passed on through generations of its corporate history. It was one of its first leaders, Don Ramon Aboitiz, who started corporate philanthropy through donations to various groups and needing communities, as well as looking after the welfare of his employees. It gives us lesson that the dignity of man is best respected by helping him realize his hopes and by sharing with him the burden of his fears. This will provide people inspiration and motivation to do good and focus on being  a good leader and a citizen. Aboitiz mission of helping people also helped themselves. It constantly delivers value to its stakeholders, including communities where there is Aboitiz presence. It gives good impact to their company that gives them benefits to rise up their image as a good company.
These are the lessons I have learned that I would also like to share with other people. This really build up my personality when it comes to business. It would really help me in the future and I can also pass on to the people who are also in the same page as I am. I will soon commit myself on sharing every little blessing I get and will also involve myself to simple philanthropic activities.

Journal Week 9
It’s the start of the second half of the semester and i’m pretty much happy that we’ve come a long way already. I have learned so much in this course and still am learning. We were supposed to have only one meeting today but due to the suspensions and holidays, our Friday schedule become a Monday schedule, which means we have to meet again for make up class. And who wouldn’t dislike this week when it’s quiz week and you didn’t study at all. It is also the week of our first half blog submission.
I don’t really have much to tell, but only the experience of having a quiz without studying for it because i was not able to come to the make up class last Friday. I knew there was a quiz but because of busy schedule and so much requirements due this week, I have forgotten to study for the quiz. I admit it was so irresponsible of me to forget such important note. Anyway, as I was taking the quiz, I had difficulties answering it. The result I got was low but I know I can always bounce back. We still have third quiz and today, I’ll make sure I will study well for the next quiz.
Also, i am here to share my experience in doing my journals for the first half. I really had difficulties due to lack of time. I assumed too easily that I can finish it in less than a day but it turns out the other way. I remember Miss Castillo telling us in the first meeting of the class that in every week of the journal, we should do it right after the week ends. Well, of course I didn’t listen because in my mind I feel like I’m gonna finish it all in just less than a day. I was assuming that it would take only few of my time because I am only to share all the lessons I’ve learned, the experiences I have encounter and other stuffs. But because it was a total of 8 journals with 500 words each, I am really challenged by it. But luckily, I have finished it right on time.  By now, I am writing this blog on a weekend right away. Although we didn’t have any discussion this week, a lesson still came my way, and that is I should be responsible enough to manage my time and effort.

Journal Week 8
A lot has happened in the past few weeks and as you can notice, we our now on the 7th week of the term. Who knew time would pass by really quick! Nothing new was further discussed but new cases were tackled. In this week, we have present different skits and ours is about bribery and extortion.
Bribery is the act of taking or receiving something with the intention of influencing the recipient in some way favorable to the party providing the bribe. Bribery is typically considered illegal and can be punishable by jail time or stiff fines if authorities find out about the bribe.
An example of bribery which we used in our skit is a businessman who was eagerly trying to expand his business by putting another one in the city. He wanted to finish the business operation as soon as possible. But, before that, he needed a certificate of the business or what we so call "business permit" which will enable him to start the business. His problem was that the process of business permit will take longer than he expects. In this case, he called a friend that will help him make the transaction easier, and that friend suggest that he knows someone that makes the business permit. As he discussed it, the man told him that to get a business permit, it will take weeks due to many papers were in line. What he did was he bribe the man by paying him triple the price.
Another one is the extortion. Extortion is a criminal offense marked by the use of threats, coercion, or intimidation to obtain money, goods, or services.  In fact, extortion is characterized by the willingness of the victim to relinquish money, goods, or services because of the threat of possible violence, force, or harm, but not the imminent danger of that harm.
Bribery and extortion are distinct yet related corrupt activities that can pose a significant risk to social welfare, legitimate business practices, and political stability. In all or almost all jurisdictions both are illegal, and it seems likely that there is near universal agreement that both are immoral. However, an analysis of the morality of bribery and extortion is complicated by two factors. First, it is often difficult to tell them apart in practice, and second, the moral blameworthiness of the participants in bribery and extortion can differ significantly in different circumstances. Ethics should be applied in not only in businesses but also in everything.

Journal Week 7
Another week has approached! It's the 7th week of term and I'm still learning more. In this week, we have accomplished our Good News Monday report and it's all about Ayala Corporation.
Ayala Corporation established in an entrepreneurial vision and brought through eras by an untiring soul of spearheading and advancement, Ayala has achieved 180 years with more noteworthy quality than any time in recent memory, its essence in the country's financial, social, and social life bigger and more profound, its further guarantee and potential endless. The Ayala corporate character is the purpose behind all these—followed to the organization's originators, developed by progressions of fruitful pioneers and chiefs, and supported decade after decade by devoted and dependable representatives. Individuals are what make Ayala's history.
Ayala keeps on giving shared value. It watches out for their developing financial commitments as these turn out to be progressively connected with its own, so together they can develop and prosper. Ayala embraces as a major aspect of its essential working standards, the supremacy of the individual, shared esteems and the strengthening of individuals.
The organization and its representatives are guided by four center esteems: honesty, long haul vision, engaging initiative and sense of duty regarding national improvement. These qualities are communicated in the organization's Code of Ethical Behavior, which sets and blueprints the general desires and guidelines for worker conduct and moral lead. The Code is as per the organization's HR strategies, which incorporate the Code of Conduct that endorses gauges by which workers are relied upon to behave. Representatives are required to uncover yearly any business and family related exchanges to guarantee that potential irreconcilable circumstances are conveyed to administration consideration.
Ayala keeps up reasonable dealings with its investors, clients, workers and business accomplices. Accordingly, all Ayala nationals, including senior officials and individuals from the official and administration advisory groups, endeavor to keep up an outstanding standard of lead guided by the organization's strategies and techniques.
Something i've learned here is that no matter how big your company is our how wealthy you are in this society, you must always remember that sharing is caring. Values and ethical behaviors should always be a top priority.

Journal Week 6
After the long weekend, we're here now on our 6th week of the term. Oh, time flies really fast! We continue to learn more. Good news Monday is moved on Wednesday due to a holiday on a Monday. We will now proceed to Case 2 which is the protected class.
As the normal future of people expands, so does the normal work anticipation of your workforce. Its a well known fact that the subsidence changed how we see our ability and advancement techniques. Individuals are working later into their lives. Boomers and Traditionalists are working long after the normal retirement age either in another vocation, low maintenance, or in their present profession way. I've composed a ton here about online networking separation, yet for a minute how about we discuss age segregation in the working environment.
Younger people are just as likely to bail for a better opportunity as older ones are. Many mature employees are more interested in the challenge and the environment than they are in a rocket-to-the-stars career path. But age discrimination persists.
There is still hope when it comes to ethical dilemmas. We should tackle each one in order to remove the burden of the company for a prosperous work field. Everyone is important in the company. Productivity brings success to the company.
Age discrimination issues have been exacerbated by the down economy in the course of recent years. While it is illegal to segregate in light of age, this sort of separation can be difficult to recognize and harder to demonstrate. It can be hard to exhibit that somebody more than 40 has been given up on account of his or her age instead of execution issues. Laborers more than 40 ought to secure themselves by keeping duplicates of execution assessments to give confirm that they have met or surpassed work environment desires.
The dread of possible age discrimination and losing one's work can make an uncomfortable working environment condition. Your moral may endure and even prompt work environment wretchedness that extends to your own life
We must take charge of this and help to spread awareness that productivity is what brings success to the company,  not on how old the employee is. We must also be reminded that age discrimination will cause depression to the employees. Employers may be hurting their own interests in the long run when discriminating because of age because older workers have experience that can’t be matched by younger workers. Moreover, it’s been my experience as a college professor that older workers often have a stronger work ethic than recent high school and college graduates.
Another long weekend awaits! We'll see on a Wednesday again. I must say I have learned a lot in this class and I could apply this to myself in the future. We've tackled many different cases of ethical issues and these are really something that we should be concerned of. I will pass these lessons to everyone and make myself a good example of a good employee in the future.

Journal Week 5
Push! It’s the fifth week of the term and you’re still with me in my journey on learning more and more about Corporate Social Responsibility. It gets tough but makes sense anyways. In this week, we only applied all the decision makings in every cases we are assigned to. We continued discussing about the parable of sadhu. We also submitted our proposal of our service learning where the decision making lesson had really helped us in our proposal.
We proceeded with the parable of the sadhu. This time the gatherings could practice what we've gained from last time and could give bits of knowledge that were right and perfect to the case. At the point when the case examination of the anecdote of the sadhu finished, our gathering was the person who exhibited the main reviewed case. The case is entitled "Issue with Training". To abridge the case, it's about a young lady who works at an organization who procured three new representatives whom she needs to prepare. Our gathering attempted our best to appropriately execute the basic leadership handle. At some part we could show what is required. However, with regards to the options, we had a little civil argument on why we picked those options. It appears that for some it is not attainable or right option for the case. Be that as it may, through our dialog, we could develop our comprehension on the theme and we gained from our mix-ups. Toward the finish of our introduction, I discovered how we should think diversely when settling on choice in these sorts of quandaries. Before we finished last Wednesday, We began with case 2 which is around an understudy who couldn't the his employment accurately and was hesitant to advise what happened to his manager. In any case, one of his collaborators saw it and after that forward the following gathering was entrusted to settle on a choice procedure in light of the case. We couldn't complete it however.
Going back to our proposal, we have come up to the idea of merging with other class to make our funds higher and so that we can have a better program and organized service learning. We plan to make seminars for the adults and have mini library for the kids. But of course, we also plan to give them activities that would make them forget all the problems they are facing. Those decision making process that was discussed by Ms. Azineth and all those ideas me and my group mates have come up with really helped us make a team. Thanks to the lessons that we have tackled again this week, it can help us in the future.
Long weekend awaits!! We'll be seeing Miss Castillo on Wednesday! Yay to mini escapade from academics.

Journal Week 4
We've all heard about how Ms. Castillo gives a quiz and it's hard to tell whether you'll pass or fail. So here we are, another week of new lessons and new activities. We've further discussed and rely on new activities while we encounter a new story which is entitled as "The Parable of Sadhu". We applied the decision makings in corporate social responsibility and it's quite interesting that we are learning and learning by group. We also had our quiz where all of us in the class failed except for one.
Each group has presented the different decision making in Parable of Sadhu. In this, McCoy argues that the "lesson" of the sadhu lies in understanding how the "individual" ethics failed (both him and Stephan) in their response to the sadhu because they had no leader and no collective ethic to guide them in making a decision. The lesson to be learned is a complex corporate circumstance, the individual requires and merits the help of the gathering. In the event that individuals can't discover such help from their association, they don't know acceptable behavior. In the event that such help is prospective, a man has a stake in the accomplishment of the gathering, and can add much to the way toward building up and keeping up a corporate culture. It is administration's test to be touchy to singular needs, to shape them, and to direct and center them for the advantage of the gathering in general.
The significance of the basic decision making process was very much considered that day. The main thing we did was to distinguish the actualities. Realities that are known and obscure. This progression will enable us to recognize what was the issue, the points of interest and what we can close with the given truths. The obscure truths are additionally shown. This is to additionally develop the circumstance of the case. This might be inquiries or expressions that we additionally need to reply. Second step is to recognize the moral issue include for the situation. Moral issues that might be close to home or social. This is the most essential stride for me in the basic leadership prepare. Since if the moral issues are obscure, what will the perusers fathom or what should be resolve. Difficulties like clash with the general public, individual or individual, would all be able to be available in one case. You should distinguish these difficulties for you to recognize what to determine. the third step is the distinguishing proof of partners. We should know who are include in the circumstance regardless of the possibility that they are not expressed. These partners are the ones influenced by the choices we make. the fourth step is the plan of choices. Options that would resolve the issues. These options must be doable and has significance or sense to the circumstance. After that is impacts of the contrasting options to the partners. This is a standout amongst the most urgent piece of the procedure since this is the place we will measure all options and distinguish how it influences the partners. In this progression, we should consider distinctive factors on how every choice will influence the partners. We should distinguish on the off chance that it is an Utilitarian approach, which will bring a more prominent useful for all regardless of the possibility that the methods are not the best, or if it's a kantian obligation where we esteem the assessment of the numerous or thing about each individual's response to the choice. At that point if the choice is legitimate and reasonable for the partners. Is there morals of care introduce in each option? These are the things we should consider while doing step five. At that point the six stage is to settle on a choice. Which elective fits the case.
I've learned that not every ethical dilemma has a right solution. Reasonable people often disagree; otherwise there would be no dilemma. In a business context, however, it is essential that managers agree on a process of dealing with dilemmas.

Journal Week 3
It has been the third week and my insight still endeavors to enhance and enlarge with the lessons we were and are going to take. I realized that coming this week, I should twofold my concentration and totally give myself with the subject in light of the fact that the vital and the body of the entire lesson for the term has begun. My excursion made a major stride when the third week entered.
A problem between social responsibility and monetary execution because of expanded expenses from drawing in themselves in a CSR would be weakness for a firm contrasted with different firms not included in CSR. An association now and again might be redirected from their center business procedures when concentrating on CSR. There are cases of numerous Corporations which are doing extraordinarily well with both CSR and monetary exhibitions. Socially dependable organizations can increase a few main concern benefits however the advantages are not prompt. Socially dependable organizations have figured out how to pick up a brand picture and notoriety. Buyers are generally drawn toward organizations tending to social related issues. An organization with great CSR would figure out how to have a decent informal community and perhaps potential exchanging accomplices and capital speculation. An organization with CSR notoriety would also be away from superfluous street knocks or uncommon negative occasions which can cause serious misfortunes. Organizations that embrace CSR standards are in less presentation to dangers like defilement and pay off as they have straightforward exchanging strategies and no illicit methods for taking care of business. More concentrate on the quality would guarantee less odds of reviewing faulty product offerings. The laborers or businesses appreciates a decent working space and thusly work proficiently with is most basic for an organization. Since it's the most ideal technique we would investigate it in subtle elements.
In conclusion, there is no situation whether partnership should grasp Corporate Social Responsibility or not, CSR to be sure helps a company straightforwardly or by implication instantly or over some undefined time frame. A decent CSR would enhance an organization's image picture and clients get pulled in to enterprise having a decent brand picture and social duty and demonstrate a dedication towards human welfare. The pattern over past decade is changing the enterprises are more worried about ecological and social viewpoint and are creating techniques to execute CSR and furthermore to have great money related execution. It turns out to be exceptionally fundamental for an organization to see how to execute Corporate Social Responsibility into a system which could get them a strategy in the context of society

Journal Week 2
Moving on, it’s the second week of the term and I’ve finally adjusted from the class and another lesson has developed towards us. Everyone seems nice, the professor is cool, and especially, my group mates are the best! another week has moved toward us and another lesson has developed towards us.
In  this week’s session, we’ve discussed further more about the world of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We tackled about the ethics and business. Ethics are, at their embodiment, moral judgements about what is correct and what isn't right. In a negotiating prudence, these morals are chosen and framed by each organization and support the choices that anybody in the business makes. The choice to act morally as one individual to another is simple for any better than average good person, however it is anything but difficult to overlook the effect a huge, faceless business can have on the world. Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility are tied in with remembering the full weight of any corporate choice.
Now, I can state that my comprehension of morals ended up plainly more profound. Business Ethics should be taken after to enhance the profitability of specialists and in the meantime make an esteemed work put. Without morals or accomplishing something exploitative, it can corrupt the notoriety of an organization and can lose its clients and laborers. Morals give a standard, a guide for the investors in doing their employments right and as indicated by the organizations moral arrangements. their are distinctive sorts of morals, yet these things compares to one significance, everything must be for more prominent's benefit. Presently "Qualities" joins morals. Doing moral acts must yield esteems. Qualities that each of us must have with a specific end goal to see each other. Qualities gives us equity, rights and comprehension. It can change after some time yet we should recall forget that Values must make prosperous workplace. Moral difficulties may ascend from doing unscrupulous acts. Workers fear being judged or not being a cooperative person that would make them pick doing unscrupulous acts. Presently directors should act as needs be on what ought to be finished. Like in life, we should settle on a choice that we believe is the right one. Regardless of whether it will be utilitarian or as per the brilliant run the show.
Through the span of one week, I can genuinely say that my comprehension with corporate social obligation has not yet been really uncovered or I need to endeavor each importance to completely gets a handle on what our lessons would be and what it will mean later on to help us with ourselves. Monday, and the second uplifting news have been introduced. However, it is not generally simple to make comparative rigid meanings of good moral practice. An organization must make an aggressive return for its investors and treat its workers decently. An organization likewise has more extensive duties. It ought to limit any mischief to the earth and work in ways that don't harm the groups in which it works. This is known as corporate social responsibility.

Journal Week 1
It’s the start of the week and everyone seems pretty much excited about school including me. What’s more exciting about this week? It’s my first time to have a night class and luckily, I got CSRGOVE subject which stands for Corporate Social Responsibility, and not just that, because I got one of the coolest professor in DLSU whose name is Ms. Azineth Castillo. We introduced ourselves and also made a group that we'll stick with until the end of the term.
What is corporate social responsibility anyways? First and foremost, it is a long-term strategy. It is a corporation's initiatives to asses and take responsibility for the company's effects on environmental and social well being. it also means aligning business strategies and operations with universal values and can lead to a fundamental transformation of strategies, operations, relationships, corporate culture and identity. Corporate Social Responsibility may also be referred to as "corporate citizenship" and can involve incurring short-term costs that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but instead promote positive social and environmental change.
As I have mentioned, Corporate Social Responsibility also means aligning business strategies and operations with universal values. Values are the basic notion of what is right and wrong and values are fairly stable over time. It is a principle, standard, quality, considered to be desirable. Values can be changed in response to many influences such as: technology, shifts in population, education, changes in basic institutions and affluence.
Some think corporate social responsibility is a paradoxical expression. Others see corporate social responsibility as a diversion of an alternate sort, that is, from the legitimate quest for benefits. To them, a partnership's sole obligation is to produce returns for its investors, not to attempt to spare the world or to worry over its own particular effect. Laws and controls must be followed in all locales in which the organization works, however administration ought not go past that, as that could hurt its primary concern and abuse its obligations to the proprietors. Some counter this concerned is lost, since mindful activities can build mark unwaveringness and thusly benefits. This may turn out to be progressively valid as moral shopper culture increases more extensive acknowledgment.
Generally speaking, the first week of the class was truly incredible! I had a more profound comprehension of what CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is and its significance. Presently I'm super energized for the up and coming weeks. I'm certain that this will be extraordinary year for me and for my companions. Imparting a greener and brighter world for the advancement of the general public. CSRGOVE or Corporate Social Responsibility and Good Governance, opens doors for understudies to practice their Lasallian esteems and temperances through socio-community exercises. A business' CSR can envelop a wide assortment of strategies, from giving endlessly a bit of an organization's returns to philanthropy, to actualizing "greener" business operations. She additionally offered models to speak to how essential CSR is to an organization.
I realized that this subject will help every one of us later on as business minded individual. This involves realizing what's privilege and understanding the genuine significance of cooperation.
