A sideblog for video game screenshots. I'll always be a God Eater fan even if I rarely talk about the series now. I've completed organizing a space to archive Tales of Luminaria references on this blog! Please check out the Luminaria Archive Tags! I was very much a beginning player, though, so it really won't be much. But I hope all fans can find whatever references they're looking for, even if it may not be here!
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.

I burnt myself out thinking about how Luminaria's 2nd Anniversary was acknowledged this year. I wouldn't recommend clicking the readmore if I were you because if you didn't know that I was never really a positive person before...
They didn't even acknowledge Luminaria's 1st Anniversary last year... The only times they don't acknowledge a Tales Series game's anniversary is for games like Breaker or Commons, games that get so little acknowledgment that the fans are fully justified in thinking Bamco either forgot about them or are actively trying to bury them.
Every reason I could think of for them not acknowledging Lumi's 1st Anniversary just makes them look worse. "Maybe they just forgot?" How could they possibly forget? Both the fans and antis of the game would never let Bamco forget how quickly EoS was announced. "Maybe they didn't want to attract hate?" They already attract hate regardless.
"Maybe they thought that there was no point since the game wasn't online at the time?" They acknowledge anniversaries of Tales games regardless of whether or not they're EoS - Link, Asteria, Crestoria. They even acknowledge anniversaries of more divisive games that many fans consider a "failure" with very few exceptions.
"Maybe they were trying to bury it." Wouldn't be the first game they tried to do that with, but it'd piss me off regardless.
So when they acknowledged Lumi's 2nd anniversary, I was really happy to see it. Aoi qrted it, and another scenario writer was happy to see Luminaria trending. The anime directors, Midori and Shiori, reacted well to it too. They absolutely deserve to see that their work is still beloved and that it can be officially acknowledged.
But I just can't help but wonder...since Bamco is generally content with barely bringing up Luminaria at all...
...what made them change their mind this year? What changed between last year and this year?
And whatever it was that changed, whatever it was that made them bother to put in some effort for once...can the fans keep it up until the day Lumi gets a revival or adaptation?
#tales of luminaria archive#luminaria archive#luminaria miscellany#i feel like i'm losing my mind thinking about this all the time#it's probably not even anything complicated in the first place#but i think the acknowledgment is important#everyone can see it you know#it's not being buried#and the response to that acknowledgment too#the fandom is still here#Lumi is still loved

I bought all three sizes of Toto's TOF2023 mascot shirt in case anyone wanted size comparisons. I got it around the time the second wave of merch was selling, but by the time my merch reached me, all the TOF2023 merch wasn't for sale anymore hahaha
But now the shirt's on sale again apparently... Cool! If it's time-limited, I wish they'd say when the sales will close, though

Still can't believe JP Tales Channel Plus gave me all three staff users in the same match on Luminaria's anniversary this year...
JP Tales Channel Plus always gives me the best card game matches!

I wonder if they'll ever properly format the EN version of Viva-kun's message on Luminaria's anniversary
Well, the global version of Tales Channel Plus's formatting probably isn't a priority all things considered. The company itself kinda needs a lot of work in general after all

On November 4, 2023 JST, Tales Channel Plus will only show Luminaria characters in the character card match mini-game (they do this for almost every Tales game in the series on the game's anniversary)
And I really wanted to record this since I couldn't do it last year!

My second set of merch arrived a long time ago, but I've been feeling burnt out lately, so it took this long to finally upload it all...
It's supposed to say "Flake Seal" because it's a set of stickers, but I got a "Freak Seal" typo instead. I wonder if other fans got the same typo too? The new Toto badge really does squish! It might be one of my favorite badges!

New merch is available for pre-orders on asobistore until 7/30/23 (JST)! Check the readmore for item descriptions and how to buy them!
You can use Buyee or Zenmarket for these!
TOF2023 Official Commemorative Toto Squishy Badge
TOF2023 Official Commemorative Toto Acrylic Charm - They recommend pairing this charm with one of the official character acrylic key chains from the English Garden collab. Since there's no Luminaria character acrylic key chains because they didn't invite any of the Luminaria character's JP VAs to Talesfes 2023, though, I won't be buying any of those to pair with the Toto charm
TOF2023 Official Commemorative Mascot Stickers - You get two sheets of 24 stickers of the Tales of Series mascots!
TOF2023 Official Commemorative Fine Graphic - Please look at and understand the measurements of this thing. This is a BIG and expensive framed key visual, and each of these comes with a unique serial number too. I wonder if it's gonna be difficult to ship?
TOF2023 Official Commemorative Acrylic Plate

This merch was previously only available on asobistore as limited time pre-orders as well as available for purchase at the physical Talesfes venue, but now it doesn't look there's a time limit to ordering them? It only says that they'll ship in September 2023?
You can use Buyee or Zenmarket to buy these!
TOF2023 Official Leo Key Visual Acrylic Keychain
TOF2023 Official Key Visual Trading Badge Type B - You have a 1/12 chance of rolling Leo's badge. I can't recommend physical merch gacha to overseas fans.
TOF2023 Official Key Visual Trading Badge Set B - You buy 12 random badges. I don't know what your odds are, but there's a chance you won't roll Leo, you do roll Leo, or you roll multiple Leos.

...I can add up to 30 photos in a tumblr post now?! Wow, I wish I had this feature back when I was uploading screenshots to my Luminaria archive... This is great!
Anyway, my official Talesfes 2023 Luminaria title merch and Toto mascot merch arrived a long time ago, but I finally got some time to upload all the close-ups of it today!
All of this merch was offered during two pre-order periods on asobistore and it was on sale at the physical Talesfes 2023 venue. Excluding the official Talesfes 2023 T-shirt (the one with all the titles on it), all of the merch featured in this post is currently on sale again!
Check out this previous post for how to buy them if you're an overseas fan and for links to the merch available. The merch will ship within 7-20 business days of your order (and they'll go to the JP warehouse first).
Oh yeah, I learned that if you buy merch in bulk like I do, then using the "add to Buyee" extension and using Buyee is cheaper! If you only buy 1-2 pieces of merch, then using Zenmarket is cheaper!

The Tales of Festival 2023 Key Visual Illustration was revealed! And Leo Fourcade makes an appearance between Kor Meteor and Velvet Crowe up on stage!
Fans also noticed that Leo’s getting an official key visual acrylic keychain available for preorder at the event venue here.
And Asobistore is accepting preorders for Tales of Festival 2023 merch from May 18, 2023 to May 28, 2023 (JST). The merch is the same as written and linked in this post, so if you didn’t get a chance to order merch from the last preorder period, then this is another opportunity!

「テイルズオブルミナリア The Fateful Crossroad」における CG空間を活用したアクションシーンの構築と作画アニメーションとの…
AniTsuku held free web-only seminars for people interested in making CG anime on September 23-25, 2022. Yoshinaga Hiroshi, a producer, and Miwa Hiroo, the animation supervisor, were the speakers for Anima Inc. on one of these seminars and gave a lecture about their work on the Luminaria anime.
On March 14, 2023, AniTsuku uploaded this lecture to their YouTube channel. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s interested in CG animation! The whole thing’s in Japanese, of course, but if you’re not going to let a language barrier deter you, then go for it!
If you’d like to watch the anime, then I wrote a post on where you can watch it here, and if you click the readmore on that post, then you’ll also find various comments from the staff who worked on the anime, ranging from the anime’s directors to the voice actors to the motion actors to articles published about this lecture. A LOT of work went into the Luminaria anime, and there’s a plenty of cool information you can find if you’re willing to check it out!

Once, there was a game called Tales of Luminaria.
I have finished the highlight reel of my Luminaria field trip stream shenanigans, from beginning to end.
With all my heart. May the Primordial Beasts be with you.

...and I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but this is a physical merch gacha with the harshest odds, and it’s in Japan on top of that. Please, please watch your money if you choose to pull on this banner. You’re still going to need some money to ship your prizes from your JP address to where you live too! Take that into consideration/calculation before you do one pull too many!
Merch from Japan can be an expensive as hell luxury. Make sure you take care of what you need to first and foremost!
And I wish everyone who wants to try pulling on the Luminaria banner good luck! I hope you roll your faves!
Yesterday, the official JP Tales Event twitter announced that Volumes 6-8 of the Road to TOF commemorative title badge gacha will be available for pulling until 3/5/2023, 23:59 JST! The badges won from these volumes will be shipped after the gacha period is over, and they’ll be sent in order from early May 2023.
As you can see here, Tales of Luminaria’s badges are available for pulling in Volume 8, along with Tales of the Rays and Tales of Crestoria.

The Luminaria banner has the harshest odds out of every title badge banner. If I can pull on it, I’d only be doing it because I don’t care who I get, I just want to support Luminaria. I also have more than a feeling that this is going to be the only way to support Luminaria for a long time… (Well, that all probably depends on sales? All we can do is see what the future has in store for us!)
If you do pull on the Luminaria banner with the intent of winning your fave’s badge, then I’d definitely recommend checking out the JP Lumi merch exchange requests on twitter and seeing if you can make some trades in the event you don’t roll them. And who knows? You might make some new JP Lumi friends too!
