Festivia’s favorite party drinks! 

The Heckapoo–A spicy watermelon agua fresca

2 cups cold water

2 cups watermelon, rind removed, seeded and chopped

1 tablespoon lime juice

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

½ jalapeno, roughly chopped

Combine all ingredients and puree until smooth. Pour mixture through a strainer into a pitcher, forcing through most of the pulp. Add some ice, chill, and serve.

The Lekmet–A classic, refreshing strawberry lemonade

1 cup ginger ale

1 cup fresh lemonade

5 strawberries, chopped

In a glass, combine lemonade and ginger ale along with some ice. Add the finely chopped strawberry pieces and serve.

The Omnitraxis Prime–A big, smart orange-colored juice

3 cups chilled carrot juice

2 cups chilled orange juice

2 tablespoons lemon juice

4 tablespoons honey

Crushed ice

Put orange juice, carrot juice, lemon juice, honey, and ice in a shaker and mix well. Pour the mixture into glasses and serve.

The Rhombulus–A big, messy chocolate milk

1 cup chocolate ice cream

A handful of crushed ice

½ cup half-and-half or almond milk

2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and stir until smooth. Coat the rim of the glass with more chocolate syrup, pour mixture into glass, and serve.

The Reynaldo the Bald Pete–A boring glass of water

Pour some water into a glass. That’s it.

i’m reading a very manly 1950s account of a hunt for el dorado but i’m thirty pages in and the narrator has already described his traveling companion as “handsome” 4 times, “extremely handsome” twice, “exceedingly handsome” once, his voice as “quietly husky” and “a husky whisper,” his fingers as long and deft, his body as “tall and cat-like,” and his eyes as some variation of ice-blue at least three times.

Nope. No. You’re wrong. Color photos have been around since the late 1800s there are a bunch of full color photos of MLK. The us govt and educational system just doesn’t show us because they want us to push back the civil rights movement and distance institutionalized racism from today’s society.

Here are just a few of many photos of MLK in FULL color. This wasn’t that long ago. This is RECENT history. Segregation, the terrorizing of black communities, the brutality isn’t old - it is still present.

When my dad was a little boy, my grandfather was one of the ministers who marched with MLK on Washington. He grew up hearing stories about the great Dr. king and the differences he made BUT he still saw the blatant discrimination against black folks and other people of color (hell he experienced it himself). My dad was a kid watching MLK. My DAD. My grandfather who only passed away about six years ago MARCHED with him. This isn’t twelve generations ago. THIS IS RECENT HISTORY.
