Was going through the Willelmike triangle Little Women parallels in my head again and realized how deep they go because they literally MADE Will and El siblings!!
So let's do this.
Jo and Amy are siblings. Amy is a painter. Jo desires independence from men. Laurie believes the only way he can be happy is by being with Jo romantically.
Amy has loved Laurie since she was a child but never interfered with his interest for Jo, but was still visibly upset by things like them skating together ahead without her (yes, really). She did not make a move on him and was sympathetic towards him when he was sad about her. Jo loves having Laurie in her life. But she also later says that what she desired from him romantically was validation and, in that way, to provide her a feeling of value, not romance itself. Jo overcame the feeling that he could not be happy without Jo's romantic love and fell in love with her sibling, Amy, when they, by happenstance, are in the same place without Jo or anyone else together for an extended period of time. Amy has idolized Laurie since loving him as a child but he makes her angry and she calls him out for these things. This humanizes him and makes their love more mature and equal that it would have been with her previous crush. But Amy has distanced herself from the idea of ever hoping he could love her back after all these years and at the idea of a romance with him, she pushes him away.
They match it beat for beat. One would expect them to continue to
So good news for season 5...
Jo is sad for a moment, logically. But she has a happy ending and she is completely okay. Beat for beat.

it's so wild to me that you absolutely cannot force a hyperfixation to happen. like you'll watch the most perfectly tailor-made-for-you content that everyone says you'll love and feel absolutely nothing, and then the thing you watch on a whim to fill time will reach through the screen and put its damn fingers in your brain and start rearranging the neurons right in front of you and every single time you're like THIS??? THIS??????? and this happens like every 6-12 months forever

HATE when there's an objectively cooler word for what you want to say but you can't use it because it's "archaic" or "obsolete" 🙄 Okay well my best friends from the 1600s say it sounds fine.

dan and phil shouldn’t be allowed to judge each other’s outfits because they’re both way too biased. like bro the outfit isn’t good you just think the guy wearing it is hot

To this day, I think one of my biggest if not my biggest Byler proof is that Will doesn’t just have a crush on Mike. He loves Mike exactly the way Mike so clearly and desperately wants to be loved.
You don’t write that on accident. You don’t dangle the romantic love a character so badly wants right in front of them and then go, “And now you’re either going to settle for a less fulfilling love, or you’re going to end up alone because you’re not queer and can’t reciprocate.”
The writers have set it up so that Byler is the most satisfying narrative conclusion for both Will and Mike. The only way to write an equally satisfying alternative endgame romance for Mike would be to have El regurgitate the exact same sentiments Will has already expressed about Mike—and that is, to be utterly frank, terrible writing and would do El a massive disservice. It would reduce her feelings to an imitation of Will’s.
“I love you” and nothing else doesn’t cut it. But “Without Heart, we’d all fall apart.” and “You make [me] feel like [I’m] not a mistake at all.” and “[I] need you, Mike. And [I] always will.” — that certainly does.

it's still crazy to me that dan was clearly put on this earth to slut and instead he met his soulmate at 18 years old
