so i made a potpourri with cinnamon and nutmeg and ginger and cloves and orange peel and anise and i have boiled it all day and it smelled so nice i took a sip and the sip was actually wonderful so now i have drunk four cups of potpourri juice and i am only now going to the internet to ask if i am going to Experience The Torments. or if i may have a fifth.

(i cannot quite explain it, but it’s like my entire low i have had a low grade stomachache, and normally i just deal but This Juice helps a little. i am unreasonably fond of it.)

i said this in the past but, you gotta be extremely careful depicting queer people. that said, there's a flavor of nuanced tied to this topic because some people just straight up express themselves in a way that may border on "caricature-Esq"

and that aside, it's really not fun getting a handful of comments time to time telling me my trans man fursona is chaser fetish art material I'm not a real man #misgendering. like even though I'm numb to it by now, it still hurts that people who claim to be progressive about queerness would be so ignorant and hurtful because I express myself in a way that makes them uncomfortable.

personally this upcoming year i’d like to focus on my academic progress and making my way through the world as an adult.

for people in gaza like my friend ibrahim, however, the privilege of resolutions for the new year is something they don’t have. every day is full of uncertainty. on top of that, it’s hard to try to focus on school, or reading a certain number of books, or eating healthy when your school has been bombed, your books have been lost, and you’re already starving due to a genocide and occupation. in ibrahim’s own words:

so in addition to trying to do things for myself, this new year i’d love nothing more than to be able to know that ibrahim is able to be clothed, warm, and fed, and that he has the ability to find as much safety as he can. he, like all of us, deserves to look forward to 2025 with confidence. please help him do that and survive.

he is a kind and sweet young man who selflessly tries to help others in gaza as much as he can, even while fighting for survival on his own. please help him!
