The killing of Ismail Haniyeh (Allah Yerhama) is so pointless, because it doesn't weaken Hamas. Haniyeh was responsible for the hostage negotiations that the Yanks have been boasting about being at the ending stages, but every potential ceasefire deal has now been thrown out of the window because of this stunt.
