I NEED TO GO INSANE ABOUT THE ENCORE LEVELS OH MY GOD.

(Update Spoilers ahead, like, shameless spoilers, straight up the whole thing...)

OK BUT LIKE OHHH MY GOD WE ONLY GOT TWO OF THEM BUT I'M GONNA ACTUALLY LOSE MY MIND. I SEE EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT THAT DEATH SCREEN BUT GOD THE LEVELS...

LIKE OHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOD LOOK AT THIS AND TELL ME IT'S NOT BEAUTIFUL I DARE YOU.

FIRSTLY OBVIOUSLY IT'S THE FACT THAT FUCKING PRELUDE WAS FROZEN OVER FOR A GOOD CHUNK OF THE LEVEL. WE LOVE A SWITCH LIKE THAT IDC IF IT'S CLICHÉ. BUT NOT ONLY THAT.

WHEN IT GOES GOES FROM FROZEN OVER TO UNBEARABLY HOT YOU ACTUALLY GOTTA MAKE SURE YOU DON'T OVERHEAT, WHICH MIGHT BE SMALL BUT GOD IF THAT ISN'T SUCH A COOL THING TO INTEGRATE IMO. ALSO THE FACT THAT THE LITTLE COOLING STATIONS USED FOR WORLDBUILDING AREN'T JUST WORLDBUILDING ELEMENTS BUT ACTUALLY USED AS AN EXTRA MECHANIC. AAAGHCJCJ. (ignore the 1HP i am not the most skilled gamer out there, I got a D on my first playthrough.)

AND THEN THE LIMBO ENCORE LEVEL. OH THE 1-E I LOVE YOU.

I LOVE HOW WE SEE THE WAY THE FAKE SKIES BREAK AND HOW ALL THAT WAS BURNT DOWN (presumably by Streetcleaners) SIMPLY REMAINS AS ASHES GIVING SUCH AN EERY VIBE CONTRASTING WITH THE REGULAR LIMBO'S PEACEFUL ILLUSION, AND THE WAY IT INCORPORATES LAYOUTS FROM BOTH PRELUDE AND LIMBO AS WELL AS A WAY TO SHOW HOW THESE TWO PARTS ARE CONNECTED. (I was gonna record the sky but laptop said no, so ill leave it up to you to see the beauty of it :3)

ALSO THE USE OF RADIANT ENEMIES. GOD IT MAKES MY HEART JOYOUS TO SEE SUCH A COOL MECHANIC BEING USED OUTSIDE THE CYBERGRIND FOR ONCE... AS MUCH OF A PAIN THEY ARE TO HANDLE IT MAKES ME JOYOUS JUST SEEING IT FINALLY BE USED OUTSIDE THE GAME'S ENDLESS MODE.

i have so much to comment on... the earthmover defense mechanism parts being enemies... how there's WAY more machine's than there used to... how the mannequins seem to have made their way to the upper layers... how this relates to Gabriel's speech in heresy... AUUUUUGHGHGHGHGH I'm so normal about this game 100% (lie)

New ULTRAKILL update spoilers!!!

Let's analyse the new death screen shall we?

So. The new death screen right? It's cool and all sure, but some things are just bugging me. And in a good way.

Let's get the obvious stuff out of the way.

"I don't want to die."

This is pretty self explanatory, but the fact that we now have ACTUAL hints at V1 being able to feel, to be SCARED. It's giving me a whole new perspective on the "emotionless" war machine.

"Attempting connection with limbic modules"

Even more emotional hints.

Now, humanly wise, a limbic module is what helps the brain regulate emotions and memories. But I'm assuming this has the same job for the machines as well

The limbic system regulates memories, which means V1's "life" was literally going to flash before it's eye.

You wanna know what emotions the limbic system regulates?

V1 was anxious. They feared death.

The last bit I want to analyze is "no vocal interface detected, unable to complete task"

Ask yourself. What task would anyone be able to even complete while scared and anxious while dying that requires a voice?

Screaming.

V1 not only is scared while dying, not only do they feel fear as they're faced with death, not only is their life flashing before their eye, but they want to scream about it. Yet, can't.

This is just an exaggeration lol. I'd image this to be more of a fleeting panic as V1 quickly realizes it's mortality before going offline. Or maybe even an anger? Like it's upset or not ready to go because it hasn't consumed enough blood yet? Idk I'm rambling.
