Oh he knew. Koumei had watched the child running around before tripping over his own feet and hitting the ground with a rather loud thump. The scruffy prince knelt down near him.

“That was rather foolish of you. Maybe we should take you to see a doctor.”

Koumei had no idea who the boy was. Perhaps a friend of one of his siblings.

“Can you walk?”

“How did this happen?”

“What the hell happened?”

“I hit my head.”

“Don’t close your eyes, stay awake!”

Temporary Blog Re-location for Trafalgar-bleedingheart-Law

HI GUYS!!! It’s Charlie-mun here. 

Sooooo some people noticed that I suddenly vanished. Thank Tumblr and their bullshit fuck ups for it! They supposedly had a purge of blogs last week, fucked it up, and terminated my Law blog in the process. Well done guys … fucking geniuses you are! *claps*

So I will be setting up a temporary camp over here until Tumblr can be bothered to reply to my help request and give me back my blog of 6 years. 

It won’t be colourful, it won’t be pretty, but we will be here :) If anyone asks about me (lol yeah right) point them this way :)

As much as he didn’t want to be back at the island, it was a relief to feel the sand beneath his feet again as he finally stood up and stretched his arms up. The water now only just reached his waist, but it was deep enough that Nnoitra shouldn’t be in danger of getting beached. Though Mei would help him back to the water if such a thing was to happen.

Mei chuckled at the expectant look he was receiving from the shark. Right, he had wanted to give him something as a thank you. 

“Ok. Wait around here for me. I have to go back home to get it.”

Hopefully Nnoitra wouldn’t be expecting food. Food was pretty hard to get around here. Deliveries were rare so they had to keep an eye on supplies. Mei headed up towards the beach before making his way back to his ‘home’. It took only a few minutes of rummaging to find what he was looking for, sneak past his brothers, and head back to the beach. 

Mei waded back into the water towards the shark who had been left to amuse himself. He held up a silver chain with a softly glowing pendant on it. 

“I bet it gets lonely in the ocean by yourself. You put it around your neck and the glow might make it feel a little less lonely. I know it’s not much ... and you don’t have to keep it if you don’t want it. But you might find a use for it.”

MEI

Seeing the shark looking so proud of himself was rather amusing. Though his mood dropped slightly as Nnoitra nodded back towards the island. Back towards his prison. He knew he would have to go back at some point but that didn’t mean he wanted to. Mei turned to look at the shark with a small pout. 

“Ok. But you need to stay a while before leaving me alone. Plus I want to give you something to say thank you for entertaining me for a while..”

The smile was back again. Maybe when they were in shallower water the shark wouldn’t seem so concerned about him. He was starting to get a little hungry anyway. Mei reached out to hold the dorsal fin, just he had done when Nnoitra bought him out this far.

“Ok. Lets go back.”

     It didn’t look like the human was too excited about going back to shore. Nnoitra wondered why. In his experience, humans didn’t like being in the water for too long. They got cold and scared. It also wasn’t a very good idea for Mei to stay here with him for too long. In the end, Nnoitra WAS a predator, and Mei WAS potential food. He didn’t mind ‘ staying ‘ a bit longer once they got to the shallows though. Especially if he was going to get something! If the human wanted to give him food, that would be a complete waste. Nnoitra didn’t eat anything that was GIVEN to him. He had to HUNT. That was just his White Shark instinct, and there was nothing he could do about it.

     As soon as Mei took a hold of his dorsal fin, Nnoitra set the course back towards the island. The human really was light. He hardly even noticed that he was dragging him along. Nnoitra rarely went THIS far into the shallows, mainly because there was no food for him here, and he was so big that there wasn’t enough space for him to freely move about. Still, he carried Mei close enough to shore so that the other could actually STAND. Sure, he’d been holding onto Nnoitra all this time, but he might still get a bit tired, and would need to rest his legs. Curiously, Nnoitra tilted his head, waiting for that ‘ something ‘ that he was going to get.

MEI

The word sounded rough, as if the shark didn’t speak often. Well that wasn’t too surprising. Sharks were normally solitary creatures. Plus they probably had other ways of communicating with each other under water. What was surprising was the fact that the word was spoken at all. Mei really hadn’t been expecting any sort of reply.  

He smiled as the hand was placed against his own chest, the same way Nnoitra had placed it on his own. It was rather easy to figure out what was wanted. Mei placed his own hand over the other.

“Mei.”

It was probably easier to try and pronounce then ‘Koumei’ if the other wanted to attempt it.

“It’s nice to meet you, Nnoitra. Where should we go next?”

     This was the very first time he had actually verbally interacted with a human, and he was proud of himself. His excitement over this whole situation was clearly given away by the bright grin he was wearing. It hadn’t been that difficult in the end, to talk. The human’s hand was placed over his own. It was warm to the touch, just like the human’s chest. Nnoitra’s own body temperature was warmer than that of most sharks, but still not as warm as a human’s. He pulled his hand away once the human — Mei had introduced himself. It was an easy name, but Nnoitra didn’t repeat it. Instead, he focused on the question. Where should they go next? As much as he wanted to keep playing with the human, he knew from experience that humans couldn’t keep themselves afloat for very long, and it was probably best if they headed back towards the island, so that Mei wouldn’t end up drowning. Sure, Nnoitra COULD help him stay afloat, but… The thought of having someone so helpless at his mercy made him question whether or not he’d be able to keep himself from claiming Mei as his next meal. He nodded towards the island, to get the other to understand that it was best to go back. Surely, Mei was already getting tired from swimming?

Mei wrapped his arms tightly around the koala-child and picked her up. It had been so long since he had seen Marga. She was looking so much healthier. 

“I’ve missed you too. Only an inch? I don’t believe that. Definitely more than an inch!”

“I missed you Mei-Mei!” She eagerly accepted him opening his arms as invitation for a hug. “I did! I grew a whole inch!” Good luck getting her off now, shes going to cling like a little koala and never let go.
