Hi, I'm Crescy from Finland! This is a personal and a bit sad blog about my inner dreams (or lack of them) and video games + other fandoms.

My Games of the Year 2019
aka A List of ‘Personally Meaningful Experiences’ Which I Don’t Genuinely Even Recommend Getting/Buying At All But Anyway:
The Caligula Effect: Overdose
Ciconia When They Cry - Phase 1: For You, the Replacable Ones
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Crystar
I expect SaGa Scarlet Grace - Ambitions to take the fifth place but who knows.
Honourable mention: the console-port of The House in Fata Morgana - which would be in the list otherwise but I already mentioned its Steam-version last year.
Note: If the list is missing notable games 1) I haven’t played them 2) I don’t own the right console(s) which is a shame [read: I don’t own Nintendo Switch], or 3) the other potential choices got, somehow, ‘outplayed’ by these 4-5. Furthermore, the reasoning behind my choices will remain an unfathomable mystery.

A writing blog, of my fiction. Nothing more.
Some texts are in Finnish but there will be English versions.
The presentation will stay minimalistic.
New stories will be released regularly. They are relatively ‘old’ since I’ve written them throughout the years. They don’t represent how I would currently write them.
They will focus on philosophical fantasies, mostly rooted in the absurdism of everyday, tragedies of life, solitude, magical realism, thoughts, dreams, emotions, delusions, and fragmented perspectives.

about adhd
it concerns me that people really don’t know that adhd isn’t a personality type or behavioral problem.
adhd isn’t someone who’s personality is driven by fun and disorder.
adhd is someone who’s brain goes all over the place looking for dopamine, because it doesn’t make or register enough of it, and when it finds a source of dopamine, it hyperfixates on it. it’s about deregulation of attention as well as emotions.
it’s not a person who can’t behave. a person with adhd can look like a lot of things. misconceptions about what adhd looks like kept me from even looking for a diagnosis, and it also kept myself and others (professionals, even) from taking my suspicions seriously.
everyone’s encouraged to reblog, but if you don’t have adhd, keep your additions to the tags.

I have too many friends who with too many horror stories to take this lightly. Don’t forget that creating an open table is an active effort, not a passive one.

Friendly reminder to the humankind that ‘platonic love’ was originally about the complexities and richness of homosexual love yet its sexual and romantic dimensions were denied until an utter queer erasure was complete:
“Though Plato's discussions of love originally centered on relationships which were sexual between members of the same sex, scholar Todd Reeser studies how the meaning of platonic love in Plato's original sense underwent a transformation during the Renaissance, leading to the contemporary sense of nonsexual heterosexual love.“
- Wikipedia citing “Reeser, T. (2015). Setting Plato Straight: Translating Platonic Sexuality in the Renaissance. Chicago.”
#tragedies#yes I study philosophy#so I can never let this go#there needs to be a word for nonsexual and nonromantic love#but calling it 'platonic' carries the notion that same sex-relations weren't considered valid#however language develops so 'platonic' doesn't necessarily carry this burden anymore#but I think it's important to acknowledge that Plato wouldn't have accepted the straight version of 'platonic love'#it was his own subjective and deeply philosophical concept of gay love#so if anything carry the emphasis of the Gay whenever using the term 'platonic' to keep its core alive!#platonic love is just as real and just as gay as romantic love period
