“Trope” is a neutral word. If a particular trope is overused ad nauseam, it becomes a cliché. Saying you hate tropes does not make any sense.

dean spreading cas' ashes in a peaceful place because he knows how much his angel loves nature and serenity. but dean can't stay away, misses him so much it aches in his soul, so he starts going back there once a week to talk to cas. he never tells sam where he's going, but he thinks sam might know. he doesnt care how long of a drive it is. doesnt care that he spends the whole journey with the music off and the impala silent. because when he gets there, when he sees the windmill spinning lazily in the breeze, its like the air around him bursts into life and sound. cas. its like he can feel the angel's presence in every blade of grass and every flower blooming and every bee that buzzes past. he gets out of the car, sits down in the damp grass, and smiles softly. "hey, cas. i missed you," dean says quietly. and then, after a deep breathe, dean just starts talking. "you'll never guess what happened yesterday..." he tells cas everything, from hunts to the movie he watched the previous night. he stays until its dark, until the fireflies start to dance, and then he finally gets up to leave. "good night, cas, I'll see you next week."

thinking about how they made it even more destiel in the show bc what we got instead was sam being like "i don't even know what to think/do/say about this (cas being back)" and dean being like "well i do" before going right up to cas and wrapping him in his arms. thinking about how dean said "welcome home" when they weren't even in/near the bunker. thinking about how dean had life in his eyes for the first time since cas died. thinking about how dean must have gathered cas' ashes and cradled whatever he carried him in so tenderly. how dean must have wanted to keep those ashes, but forced himself to spread them over the earth, because cas would have wanted that and he can't be selfish, he can't. thinking about how he would have asked cas if he liked it when cas came back, and how cas would have said yes, it was a nice touch, and how dean would have held that answer so close to his heart. thinking about how the last time dean had cas under his hands, he was ashes, and that was all dean thought he would get until he suddenly had cas back, and of course he knew he had to hug him, hold him, touch him again. just thinking...
