Breaking the rules of my own side blog but I don't know where else to express this without dealing with more social backlash than I can handle at this point in my life. I've lived long enough to grow up with no word to identify my experience, then discovered the word for my experience (asexual), then watched that word become spread so thin and demoted to a ""spectrum"" (where only the very far end is relevant to what it originally meant) and the reality is that I can't use it anymore and expect anyone to actually know what I mean (or know what someone else means if they tell me they are Ace). It has been a very isolating and painful experience and I don't wish it on anyone. Words have meanings. That's the whole point of language.

So if a queer person says "hey, IDing as a male lesbian or an AFAB transfem makes no sense and is actually HARMFUL to people" maybe listen...? Because your 15 minutes of attention from having ""the most unique and nonsensical label combination ever"" or w/e isn't much compared to a part of the queer community gradually losing access to the tools we had to connect with people who are actually *LIKE* us so we could feel less broken and alone.
