Spinach and Mozzarella-Stuffed Meatballs with Garlic
These irresistible meatballs combine tender ground beef, fresh spinach, and garlic for a burst of flavor, with a gooey mozzarella center for an indulgent surprise in every bite.
Ingredients Ground Beef: 2 lbs Fresh Spinach: 2 cups, finely chopped Garlic: 3 cloves, minced Mozzarella Cheese: 8 oz, cut into small cubes Breadcrumbs: 1 cup Eggs: 2, beaten Milk: ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese: ½ cup, grated Salt and Pepper: To taste Instructions Prepare the Ingredients:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking. Finely chop the spinach and mince the garlic. Sauté Spinach and Garlic:
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in the spinach and cook until wilted and any moisture evaporates (about 3-4 minutes). Season with salt and pepper, then transfer to a plate to cool. Mix the Meatball Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, the cooled spinach-garlic mixture, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, milk, Parmesan, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat. Stuff with Mozzarella:
Roll the meat mixture into balls (about golf ball size). Press a cube of mozzarella into the center of each ball, ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed. Cook the Meatballs:
To Bake: Arrange the meatballs on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. To Pan-Fry: Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the meatballs on all sides until golden brown, then reduce the heat. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, or until fully cooked. Tags
