One thing I truly love about Mabel is that she is completely genuine and sincere weird little girl representation. She has a morbid sense of humour. She grew up with a horrifying plush bear called Bear-O and literally everybody hated him. Her prized possession is a pig whom she won at a carnival, claiming to be a witch while doing so. Her initial design for a wax figure was a fairy princess horse fairy princess. She punched a unicorn. She draws portraits of her friends on cats and sells them for a profit. Her dream boyfriend is a Bill and Ted clone who has a masters in law. She's scared of stop motion. Her uncle didn't like colours so she hatched a plan with her friends to blind him. When her uncle offered her a free gift from his shop, she took a grappling hook without even considering any other option. One time she said the sentence "it's covered in my blood, sweat, tears, and other fluids." No one is doing it like her

Does the program matter? Big artists I see all use csp and photoshop, or sai. Art programs are expensive, sales don't always come up :(
Sorry I took a bit to answer this it got lost in the Box
No not at all, absolutely not whatsoever, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a sack a shit Sure, some programs have features that a different one doesn't have. But that's how literally everything is, someone else is always gonna have something different. And sure everyone says just pirate it too. But why bother when completely free, perfectly good, easily accessible, open source programs are right there? Plus I have separate thoughts on the photoshop obsession
The only thing you miss out on using a free program is the little bragging rights "I'm a better artist cause I use gimp" tag. The program doesn't make the art, you do! Use whichever program you like the best! Try different methods, use different tablets, go mobile vs laptop/desktop, draw traditional then scan it and do it again digitally, the art world is yours to do what you like with my friend

I made this because
1. I’d like to do more tutorials, actually. Sound off in the ask box if you like. Can be general or specific.
2. I would love to see more artists learning about drawing a wider range of bodies and engaging respectfully with diverse artists. So here’s some tips to get your learning started.

just put up a new art tutorial on how i draw hair in my style! i don't really shade my hair - i only add main highlights, and that removes a lot of stress from drawing perfect hair for me. maybe you can learn something new from my lil tutorial 💜

I LOVE your art! Maybe you already have one, but would you consider dropping a coloring tutorial?
I will try my best !
First step is to draw the thing obviously
Next thing I do is I block my drawing in with a solid colour! This prevents gaps in my colouring, making sure I’ve coloured every part, which will help when I make the background.
Then I make another layer and set it to clipping mask and start adding flats on the hair, the skin, and clothes.
After that, I add details to the flats, blush, shading, etc. It’s pretty messy but it lets me play around with colour and make sure it looks nice before I start blending
Next, I blend! I add more details to the eyes, render out the blush, and focus more on tidying up where I might’ve gone over the line with my flats. Then it’s just rendering until I’m happy!
Finally, any last little details and stuff I want to add then I’m done!
Here’s a timelapse to show my process :) I hope this could help !

scribbled comic idea I did in a twitch stream for a chapter I may have for Solar Lunacy in the future where by ~convienent circumstances~ the power goes out at the pizzaplex, and the automated doors are jammed without it.

if a child tells you they’re going to “show you their trick” and they do something like throw their stuffed minecraft zombie into the air and catch it or stomp a bunch and then spin around or whatever. please be aware that it is beyond your understanding how cool that was and you are obligated to clap and scream and freak out
