My favorite third place is the locker room. I think I spend eighty percent of my time in the locker room. I’m either in the locker room getting read for practice, chilling after practice or chilling waiting on class or some other appointment. I love being in the locker, because there is so much to do. You can play ping pong, pool, ps4 or xbox1. It also has patted cushions running along the lockers so you can relax comfortably. I love being there because it has such a great sense of being there. Its like I must be there no matter what. Its our own little community where we can do what we want and enjoy our selves. It’s a great third place because all of the different people and the roles and we all still gets along. You have the coaches that comes through on the occasion and chills with us. You also have the equipment crew that handles all of our gear and clothing and who also chills out in between assignments. Last but not least you have like ninety athletes that are athletes that are from all over the country who enjoys the company of each other. This third place caught my eye, because at first I didn’t look at it as a third place, but as I learned more I realized that I really do actually spend like eighty percent of my day in the locker room. The thing that also caught my eyes was that a third place can be physical or it can just be an app on your phone that you like and always go on but what makes it special to you is the tie that you have to that place or app and also that sense of belonging you will to be there. It will mean the world to you as you continue to go day after day after day. My third place means everything to me, because it is was I spending most of my time and it has a feeling of need to be and want to be there. Most of my time in there I spent relaxing and try to get ready for what ever I have next to do or I would just be chilling after practice. My third place is almost like a community that runs it self. Yea it has it up and downs, but so does everywhere else do. In our little community we just help and support each other whether were write or wrong.

This journal is about sense of place in the community. It is like when you go to a community and you are welcomed in like you was always apart of the community. You feel like you belong there, unlike if you the only black person in a white club or bar. Most of the times you will feel out of place like you do not belong there. There is always somewhere you will feel out of place and do not belong. In a community it is always best to feel like you belong and worth something. That’s where you will feel at home and that you will always have a sense of relaxation in your community. When you have that feeling it is always easier to live in that community. You would not be looking over your shoulder every five minutes and you will feel comfortable and relaxed. This will allow you to get and know your neighbors and to really be apart of the community while living there with your family. A sense of place is when you feel like you belong somewhere that you must be there. I have a great feeling when I go home which creates a sense of place for me.

Social Capital, and sustainable communities is my topic for this discussion. All communities needs trust, loyalty and honesty. With trust means that there will be a feeling of relaxation and comfortableness, because through everything you know your neighbor will not deceive you and will have your back if anything comes up while you are not around. Loyalty is another thing that a community needs. A community needs loyalty, because without it it’s like living in a neighborhood where you don’t know anyone. Witch will cost you to act rational and paranoid for no reason. With loyalty you will be able to relax knowing you and your kids are safe and that your neighbors have your back. Lastly a community needs honesty. This is like the first step for a person to trust or be loyal to you. All these steps support each other in some way or the other was they all are needed. Once you build that relationship with your community members there will be very little ways for a trespasser to get in and disrupt the community. In which we live in peace and harmony through out our lives. The community I really fun place when everyone works together and has trust, loyalty and honesty.

Communication creating and transforming the community is the topic of my discussion. This is a very important topic to me, because I feel as if we communicate in the community we all will have that sense of belonging and to help and support to each other. Community now a days, most people do not know there neighbors because all they do is wake up jump in there car leave go to work then jump back in the car and go back inside. I rather the old days when everyone knew everyone and everyone got along and supported each other. This was because people use to walk and communicate with each other no matter what. So as someone neighbor and friend if something was happening and he or she weren’t around he or she will help him or her make sure they are safe. This comes with knowing and communicating with each other. This will also help cut down on crime, because you will all ways know when a unfamiliar face comes in the neighborhood because you know your neighbors. This will help you to look out for all intruders. Also it’s just so much easier to relax knowing your neighbor is out there with your kids when you can’t be.

My second journal is about females in sports. There are many stereotypical concepts with females in sports. Most people find that sports are usually races towards females. Females are not allowed to join ale sports like football or basketball no matter how good they are. Like when I was growing up. We played a lot of basketball and there was this one female that played with us. So we had this summer league team that we used to play on. She asked and asked and asked until she couldn’t ask any more. We all vouched for her to be good enough, but they just wouldn’t allow her to join jut because she is a female. It kind of bothered u at the moment but we didn’t know what to do. So we just took her to all of our games and practices. Its crazy how they make females warm up different from males even though they’re warming up for the same sport. Like when a female and a male pitcher are warming up. The male pitch warms up is arm by swinging it in every direction, but a female pitcher swings her arm front and back for a warm up. One female will be treated evenly in sports.
