Know what I’m salty about?
In all my art classes, I was never taught HOW to use the various tools of art.
Like yes, form, and shape and space and color theory and figure drawing is important, but so is KNOWING what different tools do.
I’m 29 and I JUST learned this past month that India Ink is fucking waterproof when it dries. Why is this important? Because I can line something in India Ink and then go over it with watercolors. And that has CHANGED the ENTIRE way I art and the ease I can create with.
tldr: Art Teachers: teach your students what different tools do. PLEASE.

also, how do you go about drawing two characters interacting? like maybe just standing next to each other or walking next to each other in a natural way because i never know what to do with the rest of their bodies after i draw their head and neck :,) i know this isn’t that well explained and i truly understand if it isn’t something doable since i know ur super busy and have more important things to do but thank u so so much in advance

being a self-taught artist with no formal training is having done art seriously since you were a young teenager and only finding out that you’re supposed to do warm up sketches every time you’re about to work on serious art when you’re fuckin twenty-five

Hey hey hey! Uh- I’ve been a huge fan of your art lately- like I’ll have a bad day and when ever you post just a simple doodle it makes me happy- and I have to thank you for that!- and I really adore your style!- I was wondering if you knew how to draw chubby characters?- I’ve been needing some tutorials lately- id you can’t it’s oki! I know how hard it is- but if you could- could you also add in some poses of the chubby?:0 it would be helpful!- thank you so much and have a good day! :D
Hello! Thank you so much, i’m glad you enjoy my art!! I don’t have the best practice with it ‘cause I mostly draw fanart and there isn’t many chubby characters but I hope this helps! the 2nd picture is an old one if it looks a little off
I also forgot to mention in the 1st picture that the torso shapes are still the same just bigger and softer! My main tip is to stay loose with it! ^^

Your designs always have such lovely details. May I ask, how do you find the time to do so much intricate detailing? I feel like it takes me forever to do stuff like that and it's a bit discouraging. I end up sticking with simpler designs despite loveing more detailed designs. I've tried using custome brushes but your details look so much more natural.
it’s 50% me finding lazier ways to make details and 50% me just liking detail work a lot! here’s stuff that might make things easier for you tho~
Fancy Easy Lace (clarification! this is a FireAlpaca thing; make your life Super Easier by adding a Border Layer Mode if you’re using Photoshop!):
Gold Details:
Roses:
Sheer Cloth:
Then mix and match and put them all together:

Weekly anatomy tip!
This week I tackle feet. I know how many of you asked for it.
It is hard topic indeed. It’s hard to draw nice looking character with feet that doesn’t look believable.
A lot practice is needed. I just presented few ideas and now you have to put it to practice.
Hope this helps !

i used clip studio paint and the brushes can be downloaded from the clip studio app that’s included with the program, tho you can do this with any brush too!
