i gave a homeless man twenty dollars today. that’s a lot of money, but it was still casting out of abundance. he was sat reading a book, and his sign said “homeless, but might as well be INVISIBLE” and it reminded me of a long conversation i had with a homeless former blues singer in a train station. i didn’t have anything to give to him then.
i hadn’t resolved to give him any particular amount, the twenty was the first bill i saw
