Should I be this cautious? Mewtwo wondered. They were concealed behind a tree, watching a young human from a careful distance, observing her actions, her habits, her demeanor. It was silly to be this worried about being discovered, they knew, especially since this human was only a child. Yet at the same time, they also felt their fear was justifiable. Children had a tendency to babble to adults about their sightings and conversations, without much filter in the information they provided. If the human child spotted it and went to speak about what it saw to an adult… Who knew what the humans in this unfamiliar land were like, compared to the humans back in their own world. Were they the same? Worse? Better? There was no way to determine that for certain, other than through direct interaction, which Mewtwo currently chose to avoid.

“Hey, is something over there?”

The video she’d been shooting dissolved into static as Mabel cut the recording abruptly. She wasn’t one hundred percent sure that she’d seen anything at all; but as she’d been filming for her next recent episode of Mabel’s Guide to Life - not that it ever aired anywhere, but she had fun making them anyway - she’d had a strange feeling of being watched. Since Dipper was usually the one to feel paranoid, not her, that was odd in and of itself--

And then the slight suggestion of movement had been enough to convince Mabel that there actually was something there.

No longer interested in her filming in that case, Mabel abandoned the camera - and the giant tub of craft glitter that she’d been about to pour everywhere as her finale - and ventured a few steps forward. She was still near enough the Mystery Shack that Mabel felt pretty secure, after all.

“Ah... hey, over there? You are there, right?”

She rolled her eyes.

“Well, I hope so, otherwise I’m talking to myself.”

"How did it go with Waddles visiting Santa today?"

“Oh, Waddles loved it! He’s been a good pig all this year, he was definitely due for a reward.”

Santa… had not loved it so much. While it had been a rare Santa’s Grotto that allowed pets, whoever was behind that decision had not catered for a girl like Mabel; who had, upon entering, plonked Waddles down in the unsuspecting Santa’s lap.

The poor Santa had tried his best to take it in his stride; but when the pig was licking his face and chewing on his fake beard, with Mabel cheering him on all the way, the man had quite clearly been out of his depth.

Mabel had remained blissfully either uncaring of or oblivious to the difficulties she was making. As long as Waddles was happy, she was happy - and he had clearly been having the time of his life.

Okay!

So, I’ve gone quiet for a few weeks; but that’s just because I’ve been working to get on top of things, as I mentioned in my last post. I decided that the only way to get caught up, when I had so much that I owed, was to write replies to everything - and to hold off posting any of them until I was done with that.

It took a while, granted - but I now am done with that :D

And for the additional good news, no blogs are getting dropped!

I’m gonna queue everything up from now on, though. Posting replies as I finished them only ever got me overwhelmed since a lot of my partners were much quicker than me. I’m gonna set my queue - on each of my blogs - to turn out three posts a night while I’m offline, and all replies (with the exception of meme responses and spur-of-the-moment threads) will be added to the end of the queue when completed, to give me more of a chance to keep up with everything.

In other words, from here on out, I aim for my activity to be slow but consistent. Hopefully I can keep to that.

ooc: the mun rambles

I think it’s about time I gave everyone a little heads-up. I haven’t really been active around here for a little bit, for… a few reasons, but mostly just due to me failing to manage so many blogs all at once and just procrastinating everything. Also, in the recent days, finishing a few other things before Christmas and the end of the year, respectively.

I expect it’s also going to be a few more days before I get active again. Not because of anything going on, really, just…

I need a new rp strategy for this year. 2017 was kind of pitiful for me, honestly; out of ten (now eleven) roleplay blogs, I got so little done between them all - and that clearly means it’s time for me to change my strategy. I dunno if this will involve dropping any blogs - I hope not, but no guarantees - but it definitely means I need to re-evaluate my approach.

I’m just… not sure what that new approach looks like, yet. I don’t wanna leap back into rp without having a plan, however, so I may be absent a few more days while I work this out.

I’ll still be lurking, of course; and hopefully I’ll be able to get more consistently active in the coming year. Speaking of which:
