Guinevere's and Arthur's wedding but before they could make their vows, Lancelot pushes the doors open. Everyone is silent looking at him in shock but before he could say anything the door opens a second time. This time it's Merlin.

Goeffrey: Looks like your bride has won many hearts, your Majesty

Merlin with a grimace: nO

Merlin: I'm here for the prat

this was one of arthur’s better attempts. The day before he tried throwing the bouquet from the second floor

I like to think Merlin has a really deep connection to nature due to how much magic can be found in it. Now I can go on a poetic rant about the magic that can be found in nature, but im not here for that.

Instead, I wanna talk about how I think this causes nature to be drawn to Merlin. Animals follow him around and live in his room. He's had to take apart the floorboard once cause vines kept sprouting from the floor. Squirrels, birds, rats, deer, every woodland creature you can think of has showed up in his room atleast once. He doesn't even blink when he sees them anymore. Just offers them a snack and sends them on their way.

The only time this comes up tho, is when he has to be in the woods with Arthur for an extended period of time. Whether it's a hunting trip or a quest, he has to spend the night in the woods next to Arthur. And they fall asleep next to each other only to wake up with a deer, several squirrels, a wolf (who somehow didn't go for the deer), and a couple dozen birds, all laying on him. Merlin, who is used to this, just shooes them away while arthur is like "huh??"

And this could also be a really cool concept to throw in a magic reveal because uther couldn't really claim that the people who had flowers blooming where they walked were evil, so he might have twisted it for propaganda reasons so post magic reveal arthur is like "wait why do animals follow you around i thought they hated magic?" And merlin is like "dawg what?"
