i am silently rooting for all of you, all the time. even if we have not spoken, even if we barely know each other, know that i see you, i hear you, and i am rooting for you. it’s so easy to go about life feeling isolated and alone, but know that i am always rooting for you and the things that you hold dear to you. i do not mean it in a shallow or facetious way, clearly, i can’t ever know all your good days and bad days, but know that i am sending a silent wish to whoever is listening that things go well. there is always someone rooting for you, on the good and bad days and everything in between.

people will say they aren’t attractive and then go create art and then go write beautiful poetry and then go bake a cake for a friend and then go spread positivity and then go write a novel and then continue to say they aren’t attractive, as if everything they do doesn’t count or doesn’t matter, as if societal expectations somehow decide their worth and fate.

@ibs-poppy we should do this
hey! your da posts are really inspiring! could you do one about how to make a secret society? thx beforehand!
Thank you!
A secret society, huh.
Here's a (kind of) step-by-step guide:
Make friends with similar interests who would also want to be in a secret society (human or animal, it doesn't matter).
Find somewhere to meet that you can really truly call your own (under a bridge, a specific tree, the attic, the cellar, anywhere).
Set the ambience for meetings. It may not be the key most important part, but it helps in getting the creative juices flowing (drippy candles and antique looking junk, as well as some books on the topics you're going tk discuss are kind of a must).
You should have an initiation ritual for members. It doesn't have to be elaborate, and make sure that it isn't dangerous.
When discussing things, there should always be a way to let everyone have their turn to speak. You don't necessarily have to have a leader to a society, but everyone who wants to should be listened to (you could pass around a ball of wool, have votive sticks, or just raise your hands when wanting to speak). A mediator might be necessary.
Decide beforehand what you're going to do/discuss, so that there aren't any awkward silences. Keeping a shared notebook might be cool, so that you can all write down what you would like to talk about. Or, if you're going to be extra secretive, put letters inside the pages of an obscure library book and then borrow it whenever you're meeting.
Be a good host to the members of the society. A cup of tea will never go down badly, and alcohol would probably also not be sniffed at.
Some rules about guests might need to be made. Maybe only allow a guest to the society once a month, once a season, or even once a year. Although you might want new members, it would be beneficial to be careful, so as not to become overwhelmed with new people.
Discussions are probably what are going to be leading the meetings, but they could be about a number of things (such as languages, poetry, music, plays, films, literature, art, your contemporaries, politics, crime, science, or anything else that piques your fancy).
Keep your meeting place tidy. It's important to clean up after yourselves, and be scrupulous about it. You don't want anyone to know where you've been meeting, and you don't want to leave rubbish lying around, especially if you meet outside.
Have fun doing it. There's no need to go overboard and take it too seriously right now, because that could take the fun out of it. Just do it for the pure pleasure of having a secret.
Key word: secret. Don't let anyone you don't want to be in the society know about the meetings.
I hope this helps, I really had fun answering this!
