Why is nobody talking about Fred Hechinger being a camp counselor in a SLASHER movie. I saw that stupid smile and his dorky little camp counselor outfit and I was a goner.

Hey there! Do you happen to have a link to the full interview Juan FernƔndez did regarding The Collector? Can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!
Yeah for sure! Itās a pretty old article, written back in 2018 by Jason Coleman. I truly recommend you guys give it a read, thereās a lot of good details behind the scenes and to The Collectorās character!

Thinking about the interview with Juan FernĆ”ndez where he dissects his own character. I think itās so interesting that a lot of his motives are explained and a lot of meanings come to light. Not to mention The Collector definitely holds some sort of respect for Arkin and what Juan says, āhas a special meaningā to him.

I saw this and it actually reminded me of the fact of this interview with Juan FernƔndez where he dissected his own character!
Not only is it confirmed in the film that Asa is partially blind, but Juan actually talks about how he was blind and had no idea where he was going when he wore the contacts. He said it was a costume choice and a choice of his own. Juan actually talks about the fact that he knew Arkin was in the house well before Arkin knew someone was already there. Despite his lack of vision and hearing, he still has a pretty good grasp on knowing when somethingās wrong.

was wondering why asa always has that slutty parted-lip pout going and then I realized it's because that stupid fucking mask has no nose holes and he can't breathe

I have this weird fascination as to why Asa carries this amount of keys on him. Like I obviously know those keys all have their respective locks and all, but just the way he acts with it is so interesting. I think itās interesting that he carries that many keys and manages to stay silent, but also nobody talks about the fact that he has keys to the houses? In the first movie he already carries the keys to the locks, it might just be to make sure everything is locked but then later on itās pointed out that the actual key to the front door is broken? Why keep it on his ring if it has no use?
I also noticed as The Collector when he has the keys heās very on edge, there isnāt a moment where they arenāt either attached to his hip or heās holding them in his grip. There is literally not a second you donāt see him holding them or at his hip as The Collector, even in the first movie you can see how panicked he is when he realizes theyāre no longer at his side. He quite literally frantically searches at his hip and even pulls at his shirt to make sure theyāre not just accidentally tucked in. I figured theyāre important, hence why heās constantly having them in his hands.
But then you see him at home as Asa, heās not as protective of his items as Asa or in his home. He carelessly throws them on his table, heās not tense and heās not on guard. In the privacy of his own home, heās relaxed and acts pretty normal. Itās only when he feels threatened does he tense up and is a lot more rigid. Not that any of this makes senseā¦I just think itās neat to see the complete contrast between The Collector and Asa.

I think the funniest possible interpretation of the ending of The Collection is that after Arkin uses his own methods against him (tracking him down, invading the house, leaving a trap in the form of the trunk, and kidnapping [the one he wants]), The Collector is hanging out in that trunk thinking, 'this is reciprocation'. Once that box opens up he is going to be so weird about it (good for him).
