"Neil hesitated, then set the bag on Matt's bed and struggled out of his shirt. It was getting a little easier every day, but it hurt when he raised his arms too high and when he twisted he felt the pull at his stitches. He got his shirt over his head and to his elbows before Andrew got tired of watching him struggle and tugged the shirt loose. Andrew tossed it off to one side and didn't look to see where it landed. He was more interested in the scars and bruises covering Neil's front."

This chapter holds so many great passages I might draw another one from it asp. But in this one there was something that felt very real, a mix of pain and trust and interest and discovery, and even desire maybe.

someone leaked jean’s address to the press. someone knew jean was living with cat and laila and knew where laila lived. someone knew jeremy basically lived there when not at home. someone still harbors anger towards jeremy for taking him down with him. someone still wants to see jeremy fail. the fbi knows who started the fire. 👀

andrew has the ability to shut neil up like no one else and i just know kevin wishes he would use it for good. like kevin was there to see neil sitting quietly staring at the floor for an hour after the whole ”doesn’t mean i wouldn’t blow you” convo. he knows andrew could drop a bombshell 2 minutes before an interview and kevin could have a moment’s peace. but andrew loves hates neil’s shit-talking mouth too much to ever do that
