How Dare You!
creating the start of the audio, mostly based off my initial flat plan sketches. I decided to make the Words "How Dare You" bold and capitalised to make it seem more direct and urgent as the audio does. I then used an exclamation mark to exit have the words exit the screen, I think the idea is good but id like to go back over it if I have time because I don't think its smooth enough of a transition. I then have hand drawn stars fall down into the screen, representing dreams and childhood. I have changed the look of the words stolen, dreams and childhood so that they look different to the other text, however, I realise now that I should make them all the same difference instead of just bold here and thin there etc. I made the opacity of the stars drop down to zero as the word childhood appears to enforce the idea of it being stolen. The lack of contrast between the words "empty words" and the background gives the words less weight making them feel "empty".

Intro With Audio
This is the same intro that intro that I've already made but this one contains audio. I recorded this audio myself and so I don't need to worry about copyright violations. The Audio does contain a muffled voice in the background, I have asked this person for consent to use the audio to which they agreed.

Animation Title
I need to create a title for my project. this will be shown at the beginning of the animation and set the scene for the rest of the video. The name needs to work well with the atmosphere and content of the speech I've been assigned. Beyond all that id also like it to be interesting, it should make the viewer feel excited for what's to come. a few ideas I've come up with so far are as follows - - How dare you! - Ecosystems and Economic Fairy Tales - Stolen dreams - Extinction - I am one of the Lucky Ones Right now my favorite is Probably "Ecosystems and economic fairy tales". It's interesting, it fits the tone of the speech, it's dark and also a little funny and whimsical.

Type Choice Pt.2
I've been trying to find a typeface that looks visually similar to Greta Thunberg's handwriting. There are quite a few that I've found that look fairly similar, the problem is that most of these only have one to three weights and usually no lower caps. Two Typefaces that look similar while still containing an acceptable font family are New Zen and Menco.

Type Choice
Id like to choose a type that represents Greta and what she stands for well. Possibly something hand written as a homage to her ongoing protests. I came across a typeface that was created to mimic Greta Thunberg's own handwriting, especially her handwriting on her well known "Skolstrejk för klimatet" sign. The type is called "Greta Grotesk". I think it would be interesting to use this perhaps as a typeface for the opening title but not the rest of the animation. i say this because the type has only a single weight and only caps.

Testing ideas
Here I've used larger bolder and italic text to enforce the importance of those words. I've also used a gif of spreading pixel noise to visualise the idea of "mass extinction" (the earth being taken over by climate change) while the text is then forced into the corner. for now, going forward, I'm very interested in you using a grunge style. I think this particular speech is quite dark, serious and even a little scary if you think on it too long.

Kinetic Type Examples
youtube
Use of two seperate colours to represent two different people talking. Text moves faster as the characters speech gets faster and gets larger as the characters volume increases.
youtube
Use of neon text effect works well with the context of the audio.
vimeo
Fast transitions between colours to portray higher rate of speech and panicked tone of voice.

B2 Activity - Swish/Three little words
This activity served as a small introduction on how to use Adobe after effects. The first half of the activity focused on how to use different affects on an object, such as an illustrator vector, and the second on using type.
