corestrings wandavision au fucks severely actually. gaster puts hometown into a hex so he can finally see us (again?). but in doing so he is causing immense suffering to the people of hometown, and as we start to realize this, we have to choose between the safety of hometown or finally getting closer to gaster….

The SOUL being The Angel is a whole new layer of irony.

Like, they worship the SOUL, or what they think the SOUL is, but unlike their beliefs, the SOUL is powerless.

Well, they have control over space time, but powerless in another way. They are lighter than light, they have control over causality and is determined to see it through, but they are not known, ever.

All they’ve ever been seen is as a monster (haha).

Also, I like the idea that in this AU, that core strings exists, buts it’s a one sided infatuation on Gaster’s side.

Also, I found this animatic that when I see it, I keep thinking about this AU. How the SOUL kinda cowers and seems sort of afraid of Kris is interesting.

In any case, the idea of the identity of the Soul being very much in fact the Angel is intentional by what I'm writting and you are spot on in the somewhat powerless aspect and one-sided corestrings in the au as a result.

Just because the Soul has a better grasp of qhat it is now doesn't it still doesn't understand itself or anyone else well enough, and so much like how Gaster becomes parasocial towards it, so does it with Susie, creating a sort of chain of attachment between beings just tryong to find their places and communicate with the ones that they care. (Which is even more fucked up when ypu realise that at the end of that chain is where Ralsei is, and he is the only one that can look back and see where this giant link of escapism begins. Relagating himself into the lowest position as he sees himself in.)

And while I can see some people wanting the Soul to be afraid of Kris. That is not the case in my au, they hate each other, even when the Soul knows that Kris isn't exactly to blame for the whole situation and only really denying the Soul it's own body to save the world.
