headcanon that each and every one of the Ro'meaves (including Zianna) have had someone make an attempt on their lives or have had a genuine near death experience. Though I suppose Vylad would be sort of in a gray area. Fellas does it count as a 'near death' experience if you actually died but were brought back to life via dark magic 🤔

Upside-down Diaries AU: KIND of a role reversal au? Or kind of more like a 'morals reversal' au. Basically, bad guys are good guys and vice versa. I have more written out for this but it's late so, here's this for now.
Aphmau: Unlike the courageous and confident natural leader that Aphmau normally is, this version of Aphmau is apprehensive and cowardly, seeking to avoid conflict by hiding behind higher powers. In this version of events she has been made to be the figurehead lord of Phoenix Drop while the likes of Garroth, Zoey, and Laurance run the real show. She is aware of her magic capabilities but struggles to use them due to light-based magic requiring confidence as an energy source. While she was convinced to be the figurehead of Phoenix Drop for free food and shelter, she's quickly come to regret the decision as O'khasis prepares for a war and she struggles to pose as the charismatic leader she's supposed to be. She tries to run away several times, but finds herself trapped by all the people trying to use her for their own self interest. If given the opportunity, she'd likely sell everyone out if it meant she wouldn't have to deal with it anymore.
Garroth: In contrast to Garroth’s canon status of a runaway prince in hiding because he hates the idea of being a ruler in any capacity, this version of Garroth is a power hungry disgraced prince who was banished from O’Khasis for his vision of O'khasis conquering the entire Ru'an region and creating an empire. He was not welcome anywhere but Phoenix Drop, which was too small of a town to catch wind of the news of his true character. Garroth murdered the old lord (and later framed Zenix for it) in an attempt to take control over Phoenix Drop as part of his larger revenge plan, but once Aphmau came into Phoenix Drop he decided that nurturing a nobody with no reputation into a pawn would be better than trying to fix his own reputation.
Laurance: Unlike his charismatic and loyal counterpart, this version of Laurance is a selfish and antagonistic mercenary and petty criminal that is a living pest in Meteli. While he has a soft spot for Aphmau, money and material items speak to him above all other things. In this version of events, Laurance only went to the Nether to retrieve Aphmau and Castor because he was paid to ensure their safe return. He only became trapped inside the Nether during a confrontation with Shad's spirit going south. ((which only Aphmau was meant to confront, if you watch the OG episode,,,)) Laurance is still saved by Ungrth, but with no Lord or anyone he truly cares about, Laurance finds himself stuck in his premature Shadow Knight state. Laurance only joins the Phoenix Alliance because Garroth and Zoey promised that they would help him reach maturity in exchange for his use as a Shadow Knight.
Zoey: Similar to her original counterpart, Zoey was exiled from Ygraddsil, but for meddling with the dark side of her barrier magicks and causing a massive patch of Void Infection in the forest. Initially this Zoey was like OG Zoey, but the tragic and sudden passing of husband and son made her obsessed with finding a way to resurrect them. Not phased by her exile, Zoey used the opportunity to travel the world in her efforts to continue her research and studies of dark magic. Eventually she wound up in Phoenix Drop, where she could sense the dark magic used by Garroth from a mile away. Fascinated by his knowledge of the Divine Warriors and the makeshift dark magic he's had to generate with the limited information on dark magic in Ru'an, Zoey becomes Garroth’s black magick mentor under the condition that once he acquires the relics, that he helps Zoey bring her family back to life.

Void Paradox Season 2 has literally like, no chance of ever happening at all, but I think a cool plot line or like, even potential Season 3 or spin-off series idea (a spin-off of a spin-off? 🤨) would be if Aphmau and Modzilla return everyone to their respective universes, but it turns out that they accidentally left Laurance in an alternate MCD universe and now he has to find a way back home while everyone is under the impression that he is their version of Laurance.

Has anyone ever thought what it would be like if any of the other Divine Warriors went corrupt instead of Shad? And how that would alter the main events of MCD?
I think one of the harshest changes from such a concept would be the existence of shadow knights. Like, would you replace them with a variant that represents said corrupted Divine Warrior or just remove them all together?

My version/take on the Divine Warriors part two
Menphia the Fury: Menphia grew up as an orphan meif'wa in the streets of a small village in Tu'la, but due to the emphasis on family and support in Tu'la culture, she was raised by the townsfolk and grew up with a strong sense of the importance of family, friendship, and selflessness. Menphia was the head guard in her hometown when she met Irene. Menphia was initially hostile towards Irene and Shad as she believed them to be some sort of opportunists as Tu'la deals with those savior type of con artists regularly. Menphia was convinced to join the Divine Warriors when she saw that they were truly genuine people and that she shared a lot of core values with Irene. Despite her belief in strong bonds, the relationship between everyone in the group was always unstable. Menphia herself would not second-guess having to kill a member of the group if it was for the greater good. It was the only way she was ever convinced to aid the coup on Shad. Although she always sided with Irene, Menphia had a deep respect for Shad. Her time with the Divine Warriors made her very depressed, and she eventually operated more as Irene's right hand rather than operating on her own virtues. Shad's banishment caused Menphia to realize what had happened to her own values, causing her to retire from the group and return to Tu'la, where she rediscovered her spark for life. The Fury relic is the relic of creation, nature magic, element magic, animation magic, and grants the ability t9 create terrain and ecosystems within dimensions.
Kul'zak the Wanderer: Kul'zak grew up in a far out and small region, giving him a desire to travel from an early age. Kul'zak had been traveling for years when he met Irene and Shad, and he was actually older than them. They met because Irene and Shad had become terribly lost one time and Kul'zak took pity on them and decided to be their guide. Although everyone went to Enki for advice, everyone went to Kul'zak for a second opinion as he had better social experience than Enki. Future visions from his relic caused Kul'zak to grow distant from the group. He immediately accepted the invitation to kill Shad, to everyone’s surprise, and refused to disclose his reasons. Kul'zak questioned his decision after the banishment of Shad, wondering if he had really made the best decision for the future. After Shad's banishment, Kul'zak disappeared. Not a soul knew where he was until one day his children brought his deceased corpse to Irene with instructions to bury him at what would turn into Phoenix Alliance island. The Wanderer's relic is the relic of time, space, flight, travel, and time manipulation with the exception of tampering with the past, and also grants the ability to set the flow of time in other dimensions.
Esmund the Protector: Esmund grew up fairly well off. Not rich, but not poor either. He was naturally charismatic and intelligent and would have otherwise led a life as a productive member of society if it weren't for his father. Behind closed doors, Esmund's father was physically and emotionally abusive to him, and Esmund lived in fear of him. Esmund took the abuse until he was around 13, when he found it within himself to poison and kill his father. He was never suspected by local guards, and he was never caught. The exoneration from killing his own father caused Esmund to vow that he would never allow to let another person make him feel powerless ever again. Contrary to what current Ru'an texts state, Esmund became power-hungry, manipulative, malicious, and would go on to become a social climber and work his way into the top. Esmund was the last person to be recruited into the Divine Warriors, and unlike the other Divine Warriors, Irene actively sought him out due to the great reputation he had made for himself. Esmund was hesitant to accept Irene's offer at first, but upon seeing a display of the Magi's power, Esmund knew he needed to have it. Esmund pretended to be on the side of good and justice for a little while, but he would slowly drop his facade and show his true colors. But by then it had been too late to remove him from the group as he had successfully manipulated Irene onto his side. Although it was strongly believed that Esmund was madly in love with Irene, it was all just an act that he did to further manipulate Irene when he pleased. Although he initially had some goodness in his heart, becoming a Divine Warrior completely corrupted Esmund. After the banishment of Shad, Esmund realized that Irene and the rest of the Divine Warriors had nothing left to offer him. He would go on to marry royalty and set the foundations for what O'khasis is today. The Protector's relic is the relic of defense magic, offense magic, grants the ability to split fractions of the relics power among others, and can also open holes in the realm barrier similar to Shad. Except this relic requires total concentration to do so.

My version/take on the Divine Warriors (Part one)
Irene the Matron: Born a gifted prodigy in the field of Healing and Light magic to a family of nobles in her time. Her family had a reputation for being philanthropists of sorts, so it only stood to reason that Irene would carry on this legacy. Especially considering her magical capabilities. Irene would go on to become a social activist in her late teens, but then become sort of a wanderer around her late twenties/early thirties as she pondered whether true peace and equality could be achieved in the world. Her belief in fighting against prejudice led her to befriend Shad, who was an outcast. She and Shad discovered the Magi together, and Irene became convinced that it was the key to creating true peace (spoiler alert: it wasn't). Irene set out on an Avengers Initiative™ to split the power of the Magi and create the Divine Warriors. As time went on, Irene became disillusioned, numb, paranoid, and developed a God complex as well as a dim world view as her efforts fell apart. Being a shell of her former self, she allowed herself to be persuaded in the pseudo-coup against Shad that turned him into the Shadow Lord. It was shortly after this that the Divine Warriors disbanded, and Irene decided to settle for reincarnation. The Matron relic is the relic of healing, fertility, light, support, possession, and grants the ability to create pocket dimensions.
Shad the Destroyer: Shad was claimed to be destined to bring upon great suffering and pestilence upon his birth. As a result, he was consistently outcast by his village and eventually his own family. At the age of 13, his own unmastered chaos magic came to him, and he became an even larger target to others. Growing up in a cruel and harsh environment, Shad became bitter and rageful, and became a violent criminal who went out of his way to terrorize villages who especially stigmatized magical beings or those with magic abilities. Shad was not initially trusting of Irene, but grew to befriend her over time and learn to open up and overcome his trauma and rage as he learned to see the value in trying to heal the world rather than destroy it. Unlike Irene, Shad was apprehensive about using the Magi, and wanted to leave it alone, but he was ignored. Shad's happiest memories were during the early days of the Divine Warriors. Shad's descent to darkness came as the Divine Warriors lost sight of their goals, and as they came together and advocated for his death and the destruction of his relic. He realized that nothing had truly changed since he was a young man and that perhaps total destruction was necessary after all. The Destroyer relic is the relic of chaos, decay, darkness, disease, resurrection, and grants the ability to destroy sections of the realm barrier temporarily.
Enki the Keeper:
Like Shad, Enki was also shunned in his early life due to being a warlock. Enki found solace in books and conducting research as a result. Enki was not particularly impressed by Irene when he first met her, but he quickly became close with Shad due to their shared social issues. Enki was anti-social and was not at all interested in going out of his way to help people, let alone bring peace to the world. He believed that using magic to deal with social matters would cause more harm than good. Enki was only convinced to join the Divine Warriors as he wishes to study the Magi and the nature of the relics. Shad was the closest person to Enki, and Enki acted as a sort of advisor to Irene and the group as he was the most wise and knowledgeable. As time passed, Enki's mind struggled with the burden of knowledge that he was maybe never supposed to have, but he stayed out of fear of what someone other than himself do with the knowledge contained by the Keeper Relic. Enki was only convinced to kill Shad due to his ability to discern right and wrong having been muddied. Enki retired from the Divine Warriors soon after Shad's banishment and lived the rest of his life in solitude. The Keeper relic is the relic of knowledge, mind magic, memory magic, cloaking magic, and granted the ability to create pathways to other dimensions.
