it took them no more than five or ten minutes to load the bags  into the trunk of the van. re-entering the car and driving off, away from the station

“uugh, this is the east desert band, it’s not like we can’t deal with anyone that tries to start shit. but fine, if you wanna be on my ass 24/7 then get in here, I ain’t carrying all of this myself“

Charlotte froze in her seat for a brief moment as she heard the rhythmic tapping on the passenger seat window before her face turned to a scowl, and what remaining moonlight that lit up the car's interior was drained from it. she reached down and retrieved a small hatchet from under the seat. before exiting the car and closing the door behind her. as she rounded the corner and saw her collector standing there boredly, a weight lifted from her chest and the light returned, the scowl gone from her face, replaced by a malicious grin.

she tapped on the window and the feeling only got worse, she braced herself against the support of the gas pumps. but it wasn’t like she could blame her, she didn’t know it was her yet, and she was only being cautious.

she saw the car pulling into the station and hopped down from the counter, putting her phone in her pocket. she left and as she approached the vehicle, she felt an overwhelming sense of despair and dread, but she brushed it off. it was a feeling she had gotten quite used to working with her “driver”

ARR Debut. and how updates will work from now on

Our first story on this fucked up planet we still somehow call earth. with 2 characters and more to come. at first i was going to start the story off with some narration about the state of the planet, but thats boring, knowing everything at the start. so it will all be revealed as we explore the stories of diffrent people on diffrent parts of this earth. now about ARR, and more spesifically, its characters. charlotte and olivia are VEERY diffrent from a writing perspective. i’ve changed olivia so many times i cant even remember half the personalities i gave her. but charlotte has stayed basically the same this whole time. now both of them are carry overs from a kind of, beta of this story, it was a similar one, but it got scrapped and replaced with this. two other characters also share that quality.

now that these characters have been introduced. feel free to send in asks and stuff, im not giving spoilers, but ill be happy to answer any questions or hc’s and whatnot you have. and since these characters and this story is so everchanging. i might even incorporate your idea if i like it.

so, regarding the structure of updates. each update will be around 10-20 pages. they wont be entirely consistent. but expect 1 a week at the very least. and maybe a few a day if im really feeling it. along with each update will come a post containing all of the pixel art used in the update, without any of the comedic effect labels on them. as well as sometimes, but not always. a blog type post detailing me making the update and how im feeling about the story. alot like this one actually.

Olivia sat on the counter of the gas station, idly browsing the saved images on her phone. she had been dropped off here yesterday to round up what was left while her partner went to take care of a second place. next to her sat several bags of commodities, the spoils of her endeavors, mostly old tobacco products and toiletries. she sat there for a good while longer, watching the sunset. before long, she heard the sound of tires on gravel and looked up to see minivan pulling into the gas station.
