"A little bit about me and my coils ... I have worn perms all my life and in NOV. 2012, I decided to #bigchop .. Cut it all off and go natural (yes, big chop). Yikes!! I was so afraid. I knew nothing about natural hair, I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "#naturalhaircommunity". I found, later, that my hair is 4C (if we want to go with typing). As you know, this is the tightest coiled hair of #allhair types. I just thought it was nappy! As I began studying and learning my hair, I realized that I have beautiful coils that just need TLC and the right products applied. I have tried so many products and realized that what works for most naturals does not work for my tightly coiled mane. Well, lo and behold, when I used the LRC Potion Protein conditioner (I was in need of protein so I used as a DEEPconditioner), my scalp felt AMAZING! My hair felt equally amazing after the rinse out. I grabbed the jar and read it closely because I had not had this experience with my hair before. I then tried the LRC Mega Bounce & Body Shake & Go Leave-in Detangler Spray as my "leave in detangler/conditioner." Let me tell you this, I have spent a lot of money on "SHEA .. Yes, I said it" products (along with others that I like a bit and some not at all) and although they smell good, have good ingredients, my hair does not absorb them well and I have tried many manipulations. - Black History Month - Susie Carmichael Debuting in the Rugrats episode "Meet The Carmichaels" (1992), Susie was the first (and only) Black Rugrat to join amongst the ranks of Tommy and the gang. Susie is the complete antithesis of Angelica Pickles. As Angelica would lie and try to frighten the babies daily, Susie would do the opposite. She is very kind and honest with them, giving them facts about real world objects and events that would otherwise be used in Angelica’s devious arsenal of lies. For her young age, Susie was quite intelligent and gifted. Skilled in ballet dancing, singing, and even being able to speak and understand French. Making her the envy and rival of Angelica. In the spin-off series, "All Grown Up", it is revealed that Susie now has become fluent in TEN different languages. Which is noted in the episode "Runaround Susie". Her singing and dancing capabilities have increased substantially, upstaging (her “rival”) Angelica in this areas. It is also shown that Susie is an ace student, as well. Though there aren’t many facts about her, Susie Carmichael’s character proves that Blacks in cartoons can go beyond the stereotypical archetype. She proves that we are capable of so much beyond what we’re typically portrayed as. She is a great character for young Black children to relate to. #blackhistorymonth
