Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool
As I stated yesterday, this week starts a new chapter in my life. I will be returning to the college world once again, tomorrow. I am looking forward to it but at the same time I don't wanna go to school!! I wonder if my mom will write me a note? lol. I guess I have to be honest. I have already graduated from college and it didn't turn out how I expected. I hope this time around proves to be worth it. I know it will I just have to stay focused and work my butt off. Going back to school means I will be saying good bye to most of my social life. But this also means with a lot less free times, I will have a lot less time to sit around being lazy and eat mindlessly.
Yesterday I signed up for a 5k. The Free to Breathe 5k. It's in November and I am hoping to run it, or at least most of it. This 5k is important to me because it supports lung cancer. Almost 5 years ago my mother had lung cancer in both lungs. She was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer but thankfully she made it. They had to remove parts of both lungs. I will never ever forget what my mother went through while she was fighting this. The surgery's,  chemo, the difference in her quality of life now. She is, as her cancer Dr. and surgeon call her a miracle. October will mark her 5 year cancer free. However, after have a scan done on her lungs for breathing problems, my moms Dr. found something. She is meeting with her cancer Dr. this Thurs. We do not yet know if this is cancer or Sarcoidosis (a disease that my mom does have), or something else. So I am trying not to worry. It's hard. A few years ago I thought I was going to lose my mother and I am not ready to go through that again. And I never want my mom to have to go through that again. I didn't mean to go into all of this, especially since we don't know what it wrong, if anything yet. But I just needed to get that off my chest.
Anyways... I'm going to relax and watch some Golden Girls before bed. Here's to a busy hectic week. I hope it's a good one!

God left it up to me.
When I wake up tomorrow it's going to be a new day. I'm going to make the most out of it. I have fallen off of the diet wagon. It's time to get back on it once and for all. You know I pray to God to help me lose weight and get healthy. But at church this weekend I had an aha moment. I can pray to God all I want, but if I do not work hard for it, it won't happen. God has provided me with the tools I need to make it happen, but he has left it up to me to make the right decisions. It's in my hands to to become the person I want to be. Don't mean to get all religious but it was an important moment for me this weekend. This is going to be a long week. But I'm starting another new chapter in my life. Its time to finally write the story I have always wanted. Ok, I don't think I can be any cheesier. You're welcome :)

It was a link to Amazon and Barnes and Noble; she was letting me know that my book is basically done save for some formatting and layout things. It means that the book is actually now available for pre-order. My mom will be ecstatic. She can now go nuts on all of her friends with emails and...

Lisa and I at Hofbräuhaus in Newport. I love this place! It's a German brewery and restaurant. They play live polka music and you get up on the benches and dance and sing. It's a blast!
