someone: don’t u think it’s disturbing how in the past few years the level of femininity women are expected to perform and the industries they’re expected to contribute to in order to be taken seriously, especially on platforms like social media, has skyrocketed to the point that perfect makeup, contouring, acrylic nails, and eyelash extensions have become almost a social expectation and when women express no interest in adhering to those standards they’re met with vitriol and scorn straight woman who thinks Legally Blonde is the apex of feminist media: okay but it’s my choice? if i want to be feminine i should have the right to choose to do that because feminism is about choice

“who’s your favorite character?” my friend’s oc. “who’s your favorite character in canon?” my friend’s oc. “your favorite character can’t be your friend’s oc!” the posters on my walls and discord messages say otherwise. my wound has a heartbeat and only my friend’s oc can fix it. goodbye chat

I know that The Descent DLC was designed to be post game, aka after Solas left but holy fucking shit now there’s a really fucked up hilariously dark in game reason why Solas does not utter a god damn WORD of banter or commentary during that entire DLC.

-> open the stalker 2 stream just to see how the game looks
-> immediately see people in chat arguing about how civilian vs. military casualties are at a historic low because russia is so cautious and doesn't want any unnecessary civilian deaths, which is why "they don't carpet bomb cities"
-> close the stream
russia does what it can to destroy us. They physically can't carpet bomb cities because they don't have the air superiority needed to do so. Their warplanes would be shot down, and that's the only thing stopping them - not humanism. That's why they bomb us with cruise missiles and drones. But the cities closer to the frontline? Yeah, you bet your sweet cheeks they’re bombing those into rubble with heavy glide bombs. Please, people, if you don’t know what you’re talking about, maybe just shut up? ffs

i hope Veilguard is easier to mod than Inquis because i feel it in my bones that in a years time this game will have some of the best most interesting mods adding to the experience of the game purely thanks to the collective delusion and compulsion of the DA fandom to try and fix deeply flawed media

Nice try Bioware, but I know the state of Southern Thedas better than you do.
First off, it matters if the Hero of Ferelden is alive or not. When the First Warden recalled all wardens, our hero knew that was a bad call and refused, finally splitting off from Weisshaupt after years of mismanagement and taking scores of wardens with them. Their presence and leadership makes all the difference, rallying southern Thedas once more against the blight. If you have only an Orlesian Warden Commander in Amaranthine they’re less inspiring, but as long as you’ve done Awakening they are a boon nonetheless. There is someone to lead the fight against the darkspawn while other focus on the Venatori.
If you 100% completed Awakenings and also Soldier’s Peak, the Ferelden wardens have never been so prepared. They’re organized, they’re outfitted and they’ve been ready for this for years. Also, if you allied with the Architect then you have scores of strange research to give you an edge.
If Merrill completed her Eluvian then she moves south once again and joins the effort. She’s managed to cleanse the blight before and she’s ready to try it again. And her knowledge of the crossroads gives the south an edge on their movement and supply lines. If Hawke’s sibling is a Warden they accompanied her.
If the Inquisitor let Briala have power in any way, the Dales become the leaders in the war against the Venatori, forming a formidable alliance with Ferelden, Orzammar and the Marches, the likes of which have never been seen. And if you completed Jaws of Hakkon then their alliances with the Avvar and Chasind are stronger than ever.
Of course, if the Inquisitor kept the Wardens around after Here Lies the Abyss then their numbers are bolstered. It may cost Wiesshaupt later, but that’s Rooks problem. And if you completed the Descent, then the Inquisitor and Warden had a much better idea of what was coming and spent ten years getting ready.
They will not be broken.
They will weather this storm.
#veilguard spoilers#dragon age spoilers#dragon age#the way they could have easily have the imported choices reflect in the missives without investing whole lot of dev time.#with divine leliana + alive and romanced HOF whatever bioware thinks is happening i guarantee is not happening down there

ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help
