Just as a small notice I’m going to be revamping Jason soon (his theme and custom icons mainly) so I might be a little slow(er) on replies for the rest of the week!

Jason had learned two things living in Gotham:
One: Grand Avenue had the best chili dogs in the city. Two: The only people who hung out on rooftops were capes.
Jason didn’t have the best track record with capes, to say the least. Hive City was different. Grand Avenue had terrible chili dogs. And the rooftops were empty.
He stood a top the roof of a high rise that night, for the first time, alone. No caped crusaders scolding him for killing another child murderer. No kids in costumes trying to be the next wonder boy. No one to interrupt his time alone. No one to save him from his own thoughts.
That is, until someone saves him from his own two feet.
Jason is quick to pick himself up, in his defense. He adjusts himself against insect-boy’s shoulders, careful not to fall over again. A light chuckle accompanies him as he dusts himself up, making quick inspection of his savior. He wants to make a quip about the costume. Really badly. Deciding against a bad first impression with the man who he supposes just saved him from falling to his death, he instead makes a mental note to make fun of it later.
“Yeah, yeah. Tease the idiot who almost fell of a skyscraper. Real classy.” His words lack any bite, only accompanied by a cock of his hip as he crosses his arms.
Sitting atop buildings used to be his thing, in a manner of speaking. Sure, there were guys who actually flew, like Falcon and Iron Man, but the world is a big place. Sometimes it seems like New York is even bigger. Back in Queens, at least, the highest rooftops were more or less reserved for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Things are different here. Ever since he arrived, things have been different. No spider powers, no Avengers, everything but his strength reduced by human limitations - it’s frustrating. Between that and the latest string of taunts from either side, Peter finds himself wanting a little time to himself, just for bit.
But he can’t even have that, it seems.
He almost becomes the menace the Daily Bugle has always made him out to be when his very appearance nearly causes someone to topple backwards over the building’s edge. It’s lucky that even without superhuman enhancements, he’s still fast.
“You sure about that, buddy? ‘Cause if I messed up your dance routine, I can step back and watch you try again.” Even as he says it, he’s pulling the two of them back onto steady ground.

To be a free bird or a to sit in a cage, if you had to choose,
which would it be?
The former is freedom and the latter is safety–
No.
The former is solitude and the latter is prison,
a cruel selection.

This dude was seriously repressing some shit. Jason bites his lip, holding back any sort of amusement at the expense of his possible overnight companion. Before he can offer a quip, his attention is piqued by not what he says, but what he doesn’t.
He doesn’t say no.
Jason scoots closer; just enough to keep them about an arm’s length apart. Proximity is everything, he thinks, but since the other had shown clear signs of some sort of combat training–or at least some serious paranoia–he was careful not to get too close. For both his comfort and his friend’s.
“That’s never stopped me before,” Jason begins, leaning towards the man with an extended hand. He meets his eyes as he introduces himself, the pale blue of his own sitting gently against hazel just ahead. He knew he had pretty eyes, and he knew that anyone who avoided eye contact for this long was either hiding something or denying something.
“Jason,” he begins, hanging onto the word with a cocky grin. “Jason Todd.”
━ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ᴇʟᴇᴠᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴛʀᴏᴘᴇ
— ➼ by the angel, is this guy doing all of this on PURPOSE? alec’s eyes dance between the other’s mouth and the top of his chest for a moment, before he clears his own throat and shifts.
not only is he stuck in an elevator with quickly rising temperatures, but he has to be accompanied by someone who seems perfectly content to taunt and tease alec endlessly. normally, he’d be able to ignore this kind of thing, after far too long of repressing it, but when there’s literally NOTHING else to focus on, it’s difficult.
❛ look at you, ❜ he says. alec can’t look at himself when he’s too busy looking at HIM. he stifles that immediate response and rolls his eyes, trying to brush the comment off. ❝ You don’t even know my name. I don’t even know yours. ❞ and isn’t that a terrible attempt to change the subject.

Jason’s interest is piqued at the lingering hazel eyes from across the way. Maybe it was that kind of elevator. He pulls his shirt collar slightly lower before fanning himself with his hands, hoping to pass off the action as a response to the heat which, to his defense, had been rising at an uncomfortable rate since the power had gone out in the metal contraption.
A smile spreads across his lips at the stuttered halt of the other at his words. The guy was clearly new to the whole ‘flirting’ scene, and Jason’d be lying if he said he didn’t find it a little... tempting. The rising blush in the boy’s cheeks was helping none whatsoever.
“Oh, dude, no, it’s not a burden at all. That was sarcasm, I mean,” he motions to the other, making a very vague hand gesture over the other. “Look at you.”
━ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ᴇʟᴇᴠᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴛʀᴏᴘᴇ
— ➼ alec watches the other sit, eyes following the movement with INTEREST. he catches on the skin that’s revealed, but pulls his gaze away deliberately. after a few seconds, he sits as well. there’s no point in remaining so guarded around someone clearly uninterested in hurting him.
❝ I wasn’t aware there was an elevator like that, ❞ alec replies, shoulders falling as he relaxes, ❝ Angels, this is some luck. ❞ he’s pretty sure after this is over, he’s NEVER going to want to get in an elevator ever again.
his mouth opens to say something else, but the words catch in his throat at the stranger’s flirtatious statement. even being around MAGNUS hadn’t gotten alec more accustomed to being flirted with, and he knows there is a rising pink color in his ears. ❝ That’s not what I– ❞ alec falls silent, and glances over.
and immediately regrets it, as he sees the way lips are stretched in a self-satisfied SMIRK. ❝ I, you, um. ❞ growing somewhat annoyed at his own lack of ability to respond to the line, he huffs, and blurts, tone filled with SARCASM, ❝ Take one for the team? Like it’s a burden. ❞
