Sometimes I think about how so many (fellow) Belos simps hated the ending because his defeat was too pathetic and anti-climactic and think damn, what are your standards?

The man possessed a dead god/island, killed our lovable protagonist, got into a dramatic battle with her found family, who unlocked incredible monster forms in their rage and grief, then got his kaiju ass handed back to him only when the kid he murdered came back from the dead because the god he’d spent centuries slandering in the name of genocide said “hell no, not on my watch” and gifted the child with his last bit of power before succumbing to the possession burn out, finally passing away for good.

That all seems pretty dramatic and exciting to me. And we still got to watch Belos die pathetically. Personally, I love the ending.
